Classic_Spaceman Posted July 9 (edited) Fate(ful) has smiled on us today, and we now have a list of names, prices, and part-counts for Ninjago’s January 2025 wave! 71823: Kai’s Dragon Spinjitzu / 54 pieces / $10 71824: Sora’s Dragon Spinjitzu / 56 pieces / $10 71826: Dragon Spinjitzu Double Pack / 186 pieces / $20 71827: Zane’s Battle Mech / 92 pieces / $20 71828: Lloyd’s Race Car / 181 pieces / $30 71829: Lloyd’s Forest Dragon / 128 pieces / $20 71830: Kai’s Storm Rider Mech / 333 pieces / $40 71831: Ninja Spinjitzu Temple (4+) / 158 pieces / $40 71833: Ras’ Storm Jet / 510 pieces / $50 71834: Zane’s Ultra Combo Mech / 1187 pieces / $100 71841: Dragonian Storm Village / 305 pieces / $40 It looks like “Dragon Spinjitzu” will be the new gimmick, and possibly a new technique that the Ninja learn in Season 3; Lord Ras survives and continues to be an antagonist (not a surprise, but still a bit of a spoiler), and the villains are storm-themed. Considering that Nokt has blue markings (possibly storm elemental?) and physically resembles the Island Keepers, maybe their species is called “Dragonians” and they (or at least some of them) will return as the villain army in DR S3. 🤔 Edited July 10 by Classic_Spaceman
Meaf Posted July 9 Mostly sounds like a "safe" wave, but I'll reserve judgment until we've seen it. Honestly though I'm too much of a Zane fan not to get his mech unless it's really disappointing, so that's at least one set I'll be picking up!

Honestly though I'm too much of a Zane fan not to get his mech unless it's really disappointing, so that's at least one set I'll be picking up! Most Ninjago waves sound basically the same just based on names, though, so it will come down to execution as always. I hope that Zane’s $20 92-part mech is similar to Jay’s $10 78-part mech from this year, and the set includes a decent number of Minifigs (Zane, another Ninja, and a couple of villain ‘figs) and maybe a small side-build. The PPP would be much more forgivable if the set functioned as a small battle pack!
THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 9 I really like how this wave sounds. Sora getting a Spinjitzu gimmick set is great, and I love the fact that we're getting a double pack. Lloyd's forest dragon sounds awesome, could be a fantastic set — if done right. Glad to hear Ras is returning, and with his own vehicle too! Dragonian Storm village has potential to be incredible, I love the sound of it. The rest are regular Ninjago sets (at least by name), but it's good to see some fantastic-sounding names. Agent Kallus Posted July 9 The Dragonian storm village is the only set name that catches eye. 3 hours ago, Classic_Spaceman said: Considering that Nokt has blue markings (possibly storm elemental?) and physically resembles the Island Keepers, maybe their species is called “Dragonians” and they (or at least some of them) will return as the villain army in DR S3. I prefer the idea that the Idea that the Forbidden Five are a mixed bunch, not just evil keepers. Also we don't know that Dragonians will be evil, right? Could be munce/Geckle situation. Seeing what the villains look like is always exciting because TBH the ninja themselves are pretty much the same from wave to wave, the Villains are where we get variety . Rolyat24 Posted July 10 Interested in seeing a few of these, particularly the forest dragon and village. Zane’s mech could be cool, but it is a little odd that Zane is getting two mechs this wave, one of which is titan-sized even though there are other characters who would benefit more from a titan mech. Combo mech makes it sound like there are multiple smaller vehicles, so maybe Pixel will make her return here? I like that Sora is getting a spinjitzu set. Here’s hoping the minifigure is interesting and not like this year’s gimmicks. I’d like to see a powered up NRG-type Sora. Seeing the villains is definitely the highlight of most waves for me. Although there are occasionally interesting ninja variants, like the MotM armor or the Seabound scuba suits. I know I’ve said this before, but I for one would like to see a return to suits like Skybound with a consistent color (black or white) shared by all of the ninja. Do we think we’ll get a March wave again? This wave is looking pretty cheap otherwise!
mantax Posted July 10 So with the new names my biggest issue are the prices. Because this year in the January wave we had so many sets with less then 10c pp, but here they are not good. Not in the level of Arin's buggy or the Combo vehicle but still these doesn't seem great one bit. Maybe they will actually seem better if they have a lot more minifigures or they use big pieces. The gimmic sets - that's really great to have a Sora gimmic, and I want to have every single Sora minifigure, So I could see myself getting this. Now the double pack sounds fun. It's either going to be a villain vs hero or hero and hero, and either one could be great. 71827: Zane’s Battle Mech / 92 pieces / $20 - if it's going to have at least 3 minifigures I could be interested in this, if not I don't think so. 71828: Lloyd’s Race Car / 181 pieces / $30 - I have the Ninja Night Crawler. so I didn't care for the Core Lloyd car, and I don't really care about this one(especially with that price) 71829: Lloyd’s Forest Dragon / 128 pieces / $20 - that sound's interesting, it was quite a while since we got a small Lloyd dragon, and at $20 I might get this.(the price isn't great but it's not too bad) 71830: Kai’s Storm Rider Mech / 333 pieces / $40 - the name doesn't really give us much, It might be like the Kai's mech rider. But this is the 5th Kai mech that we got since 2022. 71833: Ras’ Storm Jet / 510 pieces / $50 - That's the set that I'm the most interested in. It's amazing to get a villain vehicle, especially with over 500 pcs. And that confirms that Ras would still be around for the next season, which I think is great to have the same villain for so many seasons, that really shows the serialization that they wanted to do with DR. 71834: Zane’s Ultra Combo Mech / 1187 pieces / $100 - That sounds really weird, but also quite fun as well. So I see this being smaller Zane vehicles that combine into one. There could be one main bulid, and there rest would have to be just drones. I have Zane's titan mech, but I didn't get the Combo mech(which I kinda regret now) and I do love the concept of a combo vehicle, So maybe(and that's a Big maybe) I could consider getting this(that could also depend on the minifigures) 71841: Dragonian Storm Village / 305 pieces / $40 A location set is always great, It's more then half the pices of the Keeper's Village so it's even less of a village, but stil it could be great. So I do have some story speculation from that. Since there are some Storm focused sets, and Jay is said to be evil, so he might be a big villain for this season. And that would be great to see. What helps that is the fact that there is the gong of shattering and when someone is wearing the wolf mask it gets rid of all the good in you, so that could work. Also I don't think we are getting a March wave since there is quite a lot of sets here and there are some bigger sets as well. But there is most likely one more set in this wave since 71832 is missing and the Lego store exclusives are always revealed later.

No; I am assuming that they (or at least some of them) will be the antagonists, however, because of Ras’s “Storm Jet” and Nokt’s blue markings (implying that the villains will have a storm theme). 49 minutes ago, Rolyat24 said: so maybe Pixel will make her return here? I personally prefer the route that Dragons Rising has taken thus far with the OG six, giving them the same basic suit design but in each Ninja’s own specific colours. The issue with having a base colour for the suits is that it inevitably makes one of the Ninja (usually Cole!) look bland in comparison to the others. 37 minutes ago, mantax said: So I do have some story speculation from that. I had just assumed that Jay would break with Ras by the end of S2 (after a “Who the hell is Bucky?” scene with Nya during the tournament), but keeping him evil into Season 3 would be a bold move that I would really like to see! Maybe Jay is energising Ras’s new army (who wear chronosteel armour/gauntlets?)? 🤔
Harren Tonderen Posted July 10 Suprisingly this is very remniscent of previous core waves. We get small Zane's mech, Lloyd's racing car, Kai's mech that rides something and Ultra Combo Mech. Also yeah, set numbers were leaked long ago and pretty much confirms it's going to be 3 waves again, with 3rd being about season's part 2. Soo, Ras is still in game and Jay is going to be villain for one more season, so far sounds like a W Happy that villain sets are so back, curious to see who ninja going to fight against this time, storm dragon people mayhaps? Source? If true, then perhaps some of these sets will have spoiler content for the back half of S2, or we will get another series of shorts in January (like the Elemental Mech ones). a guy from somewhere Posted July 10 (edited) Jay being the main villain is the most I’ve ever been cautiously optimistic and excited for a theory. It sounds like an awesome concept but there’s so many ways to ruin it, and it can’t be the same ending as zane in season 11. I really hope it happens but I’m not gonna put any money on it. Ras getting a jet is ridiculously funny though. I’ll be interested to see the giant zane Titan mech too. the forest dragon also sounds like a stellar set too. We’ve never had a small Lloyd dragon have we? Maybe zippy?? Edited July 10 by a guy from somewhere

I doubt that Jay will be the main villain (that role still goes to Ras/Ras’s master), but I can see him taking on a similar role to Cinder or Jordana in S2 (i.e. Ras’s second-in-command/muscle). Lion King Posted July 10 I like n idea of hero turning villian like a guy from somewhere speculated. But I don’t think Jay will be a main villian.

THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 25 (edited) Part 2 coming in early October. Also, the series has been renewed for Season 3 (to no one's surprise). Edited July 25 by THELEGOBATMAN
a guy from somewhere Posted July 26 All the episodes released on Peacock last night, this show can never have a normal release can it?
THELEGOBATMAN Posted July 26 Wow this is ridiculous. Why go to SDCC, show a short teaser, announce an October release date, all to just randomly release it on a streaming service on the same day? Could it be an internal leak / error? No idea, but if it was intential then I truly have no words; if it wasn't, how does that even happen? Why were the episodes on the server months before the release? Downloading the episodes as of now, can't wait. Heard that Jay's arc is really disappointing tho. mantax Posted July 27 Now that was just terrible to have all the episodes release this early. If it was at least from ep 11-15 like it was with s1 part 2 it wouldn't be too bad, but this is going to completely ruin the excitment with the new teasers that we get. I've seen all of the new epsiodes, but I'm going to watch them when they release officially. I'd also recommend to do the same for anyone that has seen these, to support the show. With all that I have to say that part 2 was really great overall. I'd say that I prefer s2 to s1. I was worried that the story would be rushed, since we have 2 different plots combined in one season, but it was fine and I didn't have any problems with that. There wasn't anything that relates to the set names that we got, But there is The Boys s4 finale level of new plot points for which you can't wait to see how they go. Now for some spoiler stuff Spoiler So now I feel as if it is confirmed that Riyu is a Source dragon, since one source dragon is dead. Roby felt like he would be a perfect twist villain, Bleckt felt too obvious, but his motives made sence and he was still fine. I quite liked what they did with Jordana. I especially liked that she didn't trust Ras that much and she went for help to Sora. I'd like to see her develop a deeper relationship with Sora. Just a friendship or maybe something more, it would still be great either way. Now while it was spoiled a while back, I quite liked the relationship between Wyldfyre and Roby. It was a lot of fun to see her have this type of feeling. With that Geo and Cole are definitely a thing. All that is needed now is for them to confirm it. I'm kinda mixed on Arin joining Ras. He manipulated Jay, and most importantly wanted to free the most evil beings in the universe, but Arin Still trusts him. But still this sounds really exciting. And I expect them to be like a third fraction in the next season, with them being against the new Villain but not really wanting to fight alongside the ninja. The Combo vehicle and Cole's mech were featured quite a bit, but the Zane motorcycle just wasn't shown at all, that's kinda weird, that only happend with 4+ sets and some lego store exclusives, but this is just a regular set. It's nice that there is an explaination on why the Source dragon isn't that big(in source dragon standards) in set form.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted August 2 Finished all the episodes, and I just have to say: wow, what a season. Truly fantastic. I love the character development, recurring villains, fight choreography, everything. So excited for more.
mantax Posted August 5 The next Magazine includes Climber Zane The climber suits were quite expensive with half of them being in a $120 set, but now thanks to the magazines you can have more than half of them for cheap. With that being said that also could mean that there won't be Jay or Nya(there could still be a chance, but that's like super unlikely). But I'm still satisfied with the fact that I'll have 4 of these suits without buying any of the sets they come in. Now for the summer wave I would only need Sora and Jay and that would be enough for me.
THELEGOBATMAN Posted August 6 It's quite ridiculous that we still haven't got a Dragons Rising Nya in a magazine. Why do they hate including her so much in them? I hope we at least get her Tournament suit.
YANITED Posted August 6 I have waited a long time for a Nya minifig in magazine since a Seabound issue came out with her in it. I collected every single magazine since The Island and only 1 or 2 had her in it. So why don’t TLG place her in a magazine instead of getting multiple of one ninja eg. Kai because I have about 7 or 8 Kai minifigs just out of magazines alone.
Rolyat24 Posted August 7 *Cries in North America* I still don’t understand why we can’t get magazines here in the states. I assume they’d be very popular. At least Pick a Brick has been more reliable lately. For anyone in Europe, any tips on where to find good stashes of recent magazine issues? I may be in Germany later this year.
