The introduction of a larger curved mudguard at the back (1 stud higher) will bring a whole new wave of more polished supercar MOCs in the future without needing to use flex axles or unconventional building techniques to replicate a higher rear end. Excited to see what the MOC community will come up with in the future!

Sorry if I have missed something.  Do we know this is the case?

The Lego website says "the 7-speed gearbox with shifter drum" but it doesn't explain what it is.

I saw the drum that is used for shifting. Only in orange this time for some reason.

Looking at the photo of the engine bay, I see the old orange gear switcher exposed.

New parts found so far:

  • Tilted curved trapezoid mudguard panels
  • Double diagonal support for the windshield - very specilalized part
  • The wheels

Look closely. It’s not the old one.

The inner fender pieces seem like a new panel.  It’s similar to the large triangular panels, except it has a downward angle to it.

I like the bright light orange color.  I wouldn’t complain if it replaced yellow.

It looks like the 45 degree knob gear is used in the gearbox.  It’s grey in the picture.

The orange drum selector in the gearbox is interesting.  I wonder if it’s different than the blue one in the Yamaha?

Also, both sides are 45 degrees offset, the one on the left uses a grey version of the knob gear.

Someone found this in a patent a while ago.  Didn't realize from those drawings that it's offset in all 3 dimensions, it's not just a 2d diagonal.  Pretty reasonable angles for modern car windshields at least.  But I guess there has to be two of them, a left and a right version.

Using the visible shift drums as turbocharger housings is pretty neat.  Really good use of space for the transmission having it on both sides of the engine, assuming those are the actual transmission.

What is that part with perpendicular axle hole (like on 7L gear rack only in light bluish gray) in the middle of differntial housing at both side

Shock absorbers. Same as BMW bike, Peugeot and Daytona.

@Pvdb's 1:10 MOC had very cool adjustable suspension. Damn wished the P1 set had this!

I'm optimistic for this set still. If it's not the best 1:8 supercar set I'm legally changing my name to Jennifer. Or you can blow up my house.

It actually has adjustable suspension height

Really? Wow, LEGO finally added a new function to a 1:8 car! I'm also happy the doors are spring-loaded, but not happy about the steering wheel, which should be tilted!!

Did anyone mention the new black  wishbone suspension arms (7M wide)? And yet still no realistic caster angle or trapezoidal steering linkage possible?!

The rear hood can be easily detached and reattached? That would be in my opinion the most important novelty if the set, it's annoying that previous set have all the cool mechanisms hidden away.

Anyway, looks cool for the UCS car lineup and I'm glad that bright light yellow gets much wider parts palette with this as previously it was almost impossible to build anything in that colour. I also hope the internals of this thing won't disappoint.
