How to Vote

  1. Read and understand in this topic.
  2. Review all the contest entries for each Building Category category.
  3. Create a new post in the Building Category Voting Topic and name the 3-5 entries you'd like to assign your votes to.
  4. Double check to ensure you've voted for entries in the correct category.

First, state the Category Name.

Then, include both the Entry's Name and the Builder's Name to avoid confusion as some entries may have similar names.

Do this for both the Small and Large Category Entries.

Ideally in the following format:

Quote

Small Category

"Entry Name" 1 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 2 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 3 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 4 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 5 by Builder's Name

Large Category

"Entry Name" 1 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 2 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 3 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 4 by Builder's Name
"Entry Name" 5 by Builder's Name

Votes which stray too far from the above format may be invalidated if it is unclear which entries you are Voting for.

    • the previous entrant ranked Third Place moves into Fourth Place, and so on.

  • If there are insufficient Votes or Points to determine a result, the Building Entrant Winner(s) will be determined by Eurobricks Staff and Classic Pirates Crew.
Comprehensive reporting over the staff's decision will not be provided

    FAQ: Building Category Voting

How many Building Entries can I vote for?

A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 5 in each  Building Category.

Can I Vote for my own Building Entries?

Yes, but you only receive 1 Point for each of your entries you Vote for.

You also become illegible for Bonus Points in the same Building Category as your Entries.

Why are Bonus Points being awarded for Voting?

The voting system has been gamified to

    • Encourage Voter participation.
    • Incentivize Voting for other Builders Entries rather than your own.

Are Bonus Points transferable from the Building Entries to the Creative Critic, and vice-versa?

No.  Bonus Points for Building Entries are only applicable to the Building Category Voting.

If I vote for another Builder's Entries, do they receive 3 points for each Entry I vote on?

No. You receive 3 Bonus Points for each of your Building Entries ; the other builders only receive 1 Point for the specific Building Entries you Voted for.

If I enter the Building Category is it mandatory to Vote?

No. You can submit your entries and return after the winners have been announced.

Although, you may place yourself at a disadvantage without Bonus Points and miss other prize winning opportunities.

How do Bonus Points how affect my overall Building Points Total?

The formula for calculating your final Building Points Total is very simple - for each Building Entry:

Votes for Entry + Creative Critic Voting Bonus Points + Building Entry Bonus Points

    Creative Critic Voting

The Creative Critic will be Voted by the Participants of the contest.

To Vote for a Creative Critic create a new post in the Creative Critic Voting topic (when it becomes available) and include:

    • The name of critic you're Voting for (just one critic please)
    • A minimum of one sentence to explain why you've chose this critic.

    For example:

    Quote

    Creative Critic's name

This critic was immensely helpful and provided many great suggestions for improving the build of the entry, not mention delivering the advice in a polite and entertaining manner.

    1 Vote = 1 Point

    FAQ: Creative Critic Voting

    General

If I participate as a Creative Critic can I Vote for myself?

Yes, but you only receive 1 Point, so therefore it is more advantageous to Vote for another Creative Critic and receive 3 Points for towards your Critic Vote Score.

Can I reply to Voting Topics multiple times?

No. Please only create one Post per Voting Topic.

When counting Votes we want to ensure the process is efficient and transparent as possible.

Please Reply to this topic if you have a question or concern.

Repeat offenders Votes will be invalidated and they will no longer be eligible to receive Voting Participation Prizes.

Why are Bonus Points being awarded for Voting?

To encourage participation in Creative Critic voting.

The Return of the Classic Pirates Contest provided participants the opportunity to specify critics whom they found most helpful.

However, without an incentive the participant response was insufficient to determine a definitive result.

Are Bonus Points transferable from the Creative Critic to Building Category Entries?

No.  Bonus Points for Creative Critic Voting are only applicable to your Creative Critic Voting Points Total.

If I Vote another Critic, do they receive 3 points?

No. You receive  3 Bonus Points for the current Round; the other Critic receives 1 Point.

If I enter the Creative Critic is it mandatory to Vote?

No. You completely ignore that aspect of the contest if you so choose.

Although, you may place yourself at a disadvantage without Bonus Voting Points and miss other prize winning opportunities.

Isn't awarding Points for Voting unfair?

Not in the slightest! If everyone participating in the contest takes 2 minutes to Vote for a Creative Critic, they'll receive Bonus Points, giving them equal footing with everyone else who Voted.

Only those who don't vote put themself at a disadvantage.

How do Bonus Points how affect my overall Voting Point Total?

The formula for calculating your final Voting Point Total is very simple:

Number of Votes + Creative Critic Vote Bonus Points + Building Entry Bonus Points

    Participation Prizes

Participation Prizes may be awarded either by fulling a particular Objective or a Random Draw.

    Challenges

A specific Objective will be announced along with the Prize awarded for fulling the requirements.

    Examples:

    • The first Creative Critic to write 25 Replies to Building Entry Topics will WIN a 25€ LEGO set of their choosing.
    • The first Building Entrant to attract 25 Replies to one of their Small Building Category Entry Topics will WIN a 25€ LEGO set of their choosing.

    Random Draws

Each Voter will be assigned a Ticket Number corresponding to the order in which the submitted their vote.

    For example:
The first person to Vote will be assigned Ticket #1, the second person to Vote will be assigned Ticket #2 and so on.

You may receive a maximum of TWO Tickets.  One Ticket for Voting for the Building Entries and another Ticket for Voting for the Creative Critic.

The Picker Wheel website will be utilized to generate a random between 1 and the Total Number of Tickets.

The first valid ticket corresponding the generated number will be deemed as winner

If a ticket is found to be invalid another number will be generated, and the process be repeated until a random number corresponds to a valid ticket.

Classic Pirates has no affiliation with Picker Wheel nor any influence towards the number it selects between the given range.

    FAQ: First to X Challenges

    When do these challenges begin?

The First to 25 Challenges have commenced.

How do I know how many Replies my Entry Topic has?

    The_Infamous_Steve_Contest-replies.jpg

    • On Desktop your Reply Count can be found to the right of the Topic Title.
    • On Mobile your Reply Count can be found beneath the Topic Title.

What happens when I reach the prerequisite number of Replies?

While the Classic Pirates Crew will be monitoring, we cannot guarantee 24/7 coverage.

So after you've accumulated sufficient Replies,  tag or quote a LEGO Pirate Forum staff member and write "I'm the first to X!"

X = number required to complete Objective.

    For example:

    Quote

    @Mister Phes I'm the first to 25!

You will then be evaluated to determine whether you've met the requirements of the challenge.

Please note: Building Entrants: please post this reply in the same Topic in which you've met the Objective, because that is the Topic in which Replies will be counted.

What happens if I have insufficient qualifying Replies?

For example: you only have a total of 20 Replies - you'll be advised how many more Replies required to meet the Objective

    Can Creative Critics double Post?

    No.

Multiple consecutive Posts by the same author will be counted as one Reply.

What if participants double Posts on my Building Entry Topics?

    As above.

Multiple consecutive Posts by the same author will be counted as one Reply.

Building Entrants can reduce such occurrences by promptly Replying to other Participants but these Posts must meet Minimum Post Requirements.

Does replying to my own Building Entry Topics count to the Reply Total?

Yes, providing these Replies are not multiple consecutive Posts made by yourself.

What if Replies to My Building Entry Topics don't meet the Minimum Post Requirements?

While you cannot control what other Participants write, you can engage in conversation to encourage them to write more thoughtful replies.

If a Participant is deliberately spamming or sabotaging Building Entry Topics with Posts that don't meet the Minimum Post Requirements, they will be removed from the Contest immediately.

Can Replies be spread across multiple Building Entry Topics?

    • Building Entrants:
      No.
The Replies must be submitted to the same Building Entry Topic.
That means a single Building Entry Topic must accumulate 25 Replies that meet the Minimum Post Requirements.

    • Creative Critics:
      Yes.
Your Replies can be distributed over multiple Building Entry Topics.
Providing your Replies are submitted to Building Entry Topics and meet the Minimum Post Requirements.
Replies outside of Building Entry Topics will not be counted.

If I win a Participation Prize am I obligated to stay until the end of the Round or Contest? Or obligated to Vote?

    No.

You can accept your prize and retire from the contest at anytime.

Although, you'd miss out on the opportunity to win more prizes.

How long do the Replies need to be?

Please refer to the General Post Length rules.

Do I still need to Register as a Creative Critic to participate in a First to 25 Critic Challenges?

    Yes.

Registering helps us keep track of everyone who is participating in Creative Critic Challenges.

    So please Register Now.

If I Register as a Creative Critic do I need to participate until the end of the contest?

    No.

Even if you win a Participation Prize, you can retire from the Contest at any time.

There is no obligation to Vote or provide further Critique beyond the immediate Challenge.

General Voting & Participation Prize Rules

    Participation Requirements

    But I don't have a Steve Minifigure!

Including the Steve minifigure is NOT mandatory, nor will including the cutter ship.  Steve can depicted at any age, wearing any clothes… on any ship or location… maybe when older he has a grey beard… or no beard at all…

Your Entry could also be focused on a supporting character.

Do I require 10 Posts to submit a Building Entry?

    No.

You may submit a Building Entry as your very first Post.

Do I require 10 Posts to participate in the Creative Critic?

    No.

You may participate as a Creative Critic without previously posting on Eurobricks, I.e. have a Post Count of Zero.

Where do I find my Post Count?

On Desktop; the number you see below your Username and Rank is what we use to determine your Post Count:

    image.png

On Mobile; the number you see below your Username and to the right of the Post Date is what we use to determine your Post Count:

    image.png

Again, you DO NOT require 10 Posts to submit a Building Entry or participate in the Creative Critic.

This Minimum Requirement only applies to Voting which takes place after 17 August.

You can submit Building Entries or participate in the Creative Critic with Zero Posts.

Does my Eurobricks account need to be created before a certain date to submit a Building Entry or participate in the Creative Critic?

No. However, you may only participate using one Eurobricks account.

If a participant is determined to have participated from multiple Eurobricks accounts, both accounts may face suspension.

Can I use AI Generated Content?

All Building Entries, Creative Critic feedback and written Contest Participation must be created organically, I.e. authored or designed by human.

The only exception is minor image retouching.

    For example:
Photoshop's generative fill feature is used to remove a blemish or extend a background.

However, anything that can be built with LEGO cannot be generated artificially in any capacity.

    Can I Get Disqualified?

Yes.  You'll be removed from the contest if:

    • Your posts or entries are off-topic or considered to be spam
    • Your posts plagiarise other entrants submissions, or material from other sources
    • You demonstrate negative or disruptive behaviour.
    • You cheat or attempt cheat:
      • Create fraudulent accounts,
      • Claim other builder's creations as your own,
      • Use AI generated content,
      • Circumvent the Voting system
      • Artificially inflate Voting scores
    • Repeatedly post in the wrong topic.
For example: ask questions in the registration topic instead of this topic.

Upon breach of conduct you'll be given a warning but after three strikes, you're disqualified!

Unless you do something exceptionally bad and then we'll keel haul disqualify yer on the spot!

    Voting Requirements

The Minimum Requirement to Vote or enter Participation Draws is a Eurobricks account with 10 Posts registered before the commencement of Voting.

By which date must my Eurobricks account be registered?

    18/08/24

By which date must I have accumulated 10 Posts?

    18/08/24

Again, you DO NOT require 10 Posts to submit a Building Entry or participate in the Creative Critic.

This Minimum Requirement only applies to Voting which takes place after 17 August.

You can submit Building Entries or participate in the Creative Critic with Zero Posts.

Why is a Eurobricks account required for Voting?

To ensure account legitimacy. Eurobricks is a platform which we control and offers more tools to verify the integrity of participant accounts.

We can more readily identify fraudulent accounts and activity via our own platform, rather than a social media platform such as Facebook or Instagram.

If you don't currently have a Eurobricks account, please register one now.

Why do I need a minimum of 10 posts to Vote?

This is a standard Eurobricks requirement for all new accounts to ensure they have been created by a living person and not automation software.

It is also a deterrent for living persons to create multiple accounts, or use Eurobricks purely for image hosting purposes.

You may accumulate 10 Posts by replying to topics within any of the Eurobricks forums. There is no requirement to exclusively reply to contest topics to accumulate 10 Posts.

How can I accumulate 10 Posts before the Contest starts?

If your account is newly registered, to gain your first 10 Posts you may:

    1. Reply to Building Entry Topics!
    2. Practice posting in the pratice topic.
    3. Introduce yourself in the Hello... my name is forum
    4. Respond to the existing topics in the LEGO Pirates, Pirate MOC forum or Brethren of the Brick Seas Forum.
    5. Reply to this topic

How long do Posts need to be?

At least a sentence.  Posts that are only a few brief words, emoji(s) or image(s) without context, will not be considered in your Post Count.

Repeat offenders who write brief posts to inflate their Post Count or Sabotage other Entrants will face Suspension.

Why must my Eurobricks account be registered prior to the specified date?

Again, this is to ensure voting legitimacy. We do not permit the creation of multiple Eurobricks accounts to vote.

What happens if my Eurobricks account is registered after the specified date?

You will be required to accumulate 30 posts prior to Voting, otherwise your Votes will be invalidated (not counted) nor will you be eligible to receive Voting Participation Prizes.

What happens if I do not have the prerequisite number of posts?

Your Votes will be invalided (not counted) and will you be eligible to Voting Participation Prizes.

    Prizes

Which sets can I select as my Prize(s)?

The set(s) selected as prize(s) must be available on your local LEGO.com.*

    For example:

    • If winner #1 is located in the US then their prize has to be available on lego.com/en-us
    • if winner #2 is German their prize has to be available on lego.com/en-de
    • if winner #3 is Australian their prize has to be available on lego.com/en-au, and so on.

You will receive a prize pool of sets of your choosing equivalent to the amount stated in Euros, subject to availability.

Do I have to accept 10320 Eldorado Fortress as a prize?

No. You may select any combination of sets providing:

    • Their combined total does not exceed 215€
    • The set(s) are available in your local LEGO.com Region

I've won a Prize to the value of 70€ but the set I want as prize is only 50€ - can I also claim another set to the value of 20€?

    Yes.

You may select any combination of sets providing:

    • Their combined total does need exceed the value of the prize you've won.
    • The Set(s) are available in your local LEGO.com Region
    • You can only select two sets per Prize.
For example: If you win a 70€ Prize, you cannot claim 7 x 10€ Sets.

Euros € are not accepted in my region

This is only applicable to prizes funded by Classic-Pirates.com:
The prize value will be converted to the same currency as your LEGO.com account based on the current exchange rate as determined by XE.com.

This is only applicable to prizes supplied by The LEGO Group:
    Prizes
supplied by The LEGO Group use pricing based on lego.com/en-de

Therefore, the combined total of the sets in your local LEGO.com region will not be converted in Euros.

Can I choose a LEGO Gift Card or Pick A Brick Items for my prize?

No. You may only choose sets.

    I don't have a LEGO.com account

While not essential for receiving physical prizes, a LEGO.com account is highly beneficial.

We recommend you register an account now if you don't currently have one.

Optionally you may join the LEGO Insider rewards program for discounts and exclusive offers.

Can I have my prize shipped to a PO Box or forwarding address?

This may vary from region to region but the answer is most likely No.

Please read LEGO.com's official Shipping Restrictions information.

What happens if I cannot receive my prize(s)?

It is your responsibility to ensure:

    1. The LEGO Set(s) you select as Prize(s) are available in your local LEGO.com region.
    2. LEGO.com ships to your address.
    3. You provide the correct shipping information.

We also will not take accountability for:

    • Prizes which are damaged or lost in transit.
    • Administration errors on the behalf of LEGO.com or third parties providing prizes.
    • Inaccurate information provided by yourself.

If you provide us with incorrect information your prize(s) may be revoked and awarded to another participant.
