Like I could imaging the Griffin to have a helmetwith little wings - though admitedly that likely is very unlikely to happen lol. Once i saw the Kraken shield i immediately pictured the Kraken Knights before my inner eye as a hybride of GoT's Greyjoys and a seafaring faction like the Hanse. A medieval port town and a nice cog would be great to have... On the other hand, the Kraken shield exists only as a voting option yet
TeriXeri Posted May 29 (edited) Definately Kraken in this case, as much as I like Gryphons in fantasy , and the red / white shield + gryphon definately gets the Reikland faction vibes from Warhammer fantasy, a sea based medieval faction is more unique. Lion King Posted May 29 I wonder if the winner shield will show up after Minifigure Prize set… I would love to see Fantasy Era II but i will not hold my breath for it.

Not sure of the budget for the set and see as it may have some specialized pieces already it may not include a modified helm. But we will have to see when the set releases and hopefully the fig parts show up on PAB.
ARC2149Nova Posted May 30 Echoing the knight/pirate hybrid idea for the Kraken faction, it's such a cool looking design as well. When I look at the Griffin, Crow, and Bull, I see Lion/Dragon, Black Falcon, and we already have Cedric the Bull (though he needs a comeback). But, I'd love a Kraken Knight CMF figure or small set if it doesn't win.

TeriXeri Posted May 30 (edited) Total War : Warhammer 2/3 has vampire pirates with polearms and armor (Zombie mob, and then the far more menacing fully armored Depth Guard), but even without going the undead route, that could work for living sea-based medieval/fantasy figures as well, can even leave out the pistols / rifles / cannons if it's Castle focused. I mean, LEGO has had ships / coastal battles in Castle sets before, even long ago with the Black Knights ship, and smaller "viking" like Lion Knights boat , and much later in Knights Kingdom and Fantasy , notably 65767: Attack from the Sea and 7029: Skeleton Ship Attack Edited May 30 by TeriXeri

In the end we will need three new pieces for the Knight already, three for the spacemen and all other minifigs should need at least one new piece aswell - and then they also will need some for the Prize machine. Yperio_Bricks Posted May 30 Since this is a wishlist thread... For a Kraken Knights theme i would wish big medieval port with a warehouse, tavern, a fisherman's hut, docks and a small trading ship medieval cog (or maybe even a ship like a carrack?) a guarded lighthouse Kraken Island with a wrecked ship and a a brick build kraken (and smaller molded ones) And i wish we would get small sets like a knight, a horse and a weapons rack a cart, an ox and a civilian a tree, a road sign and a bandit a fisher, the molded rowing boat, a net and some fish, crabs and clams

Now we will have to wait and see if they expand on the winning heraldry with actual sets. Here's to hoping we get something in the upcoming years.
Westbrick Posted May 31 If the Kraken wins, I do actually wonder if Lego might somehow revive the beard from Davy Jones, but pair it with a ‘normal’ legs and torso combo, so that people who want a fantasy squid-human-hybrid knight can have it, and those who want regular knights in the kraken livery can also make use of it. With the Kraken emblem on the sails and a Lion Knight/ Black Falcon rowing boat for it to be fighting.
Artanis I Posted May 31 Whether or not these factions get made, they're official fanon anyway, due to the digital images being shown. All it takes is printing out the heraldry for shields, and swapping arms/legs around onto generic plate/chain-mail torsos and you have a kraken knight army... (if for example crows get chosen)

You should get ready for the BDP medieval port then early next year. Regarding a cog, a Polish designer has one up on Rebricable. Its quite a nice ship, though it shows more of the lines of a caravel. A carrack was already in the cannon-wielding era, so might be a little too advanced for a medieval set. Lion King Posted May 31 I think leader of Kraken Knights would wear a cool helmet. Similiar to Basil the Bat Lord’s helme, leader would have helmet that has fin (or tentacle) spreading out just a bit on each side of it - would be perfect for CMF or sets! LEGO is not bringing back a years-old IP-locked mould for a single potentially exclusive Minifig. IMO, the only new elements that we can expect are torso, legs, and shield prints. 8 hours ago, Artanis I said: Whether or not these factions get made, they're official fanon anyway, due to the digital images being shown. I hope that some of the ones that do not win end up getting CMF renditions (the kraken would actually be better as a CMF, since then they could have a crazy squid helmet!). 5 hours ago, Lion King said: I think leader of Kraken Knights would wear a cool helmet. However. I see a Kraken faction more as raiders and pillagers, and less likely to have a formal port set up. In my vison, they would base on Kraken Island inside of wrecked ships and reconfigured ships. There could certainly be a medieval port that they raid but they I see them more as a more organized wolf pack faction of the sea. They could even work hand in hand, trading with the wolf pack as their distant cousins from the sea.

I see something like a half-sunken castle surrounded by shipwrecks and connected via ropes and netting; the Humans in the faction live on the upper levels, while eldritch creatures inhabit the flooded dungeons and only surface during raids or attacks on the castle. As a seafaring faction or a faction that lives by the sea, i guess trading would be a something the Kraken Knights would do. But they could also be raiders! I do not picture them as shiny tournament knights. More like rough raider-traders Look at the kraken helmet (by dahube84 on deviant art):

I would think it would be along the lines of the Majisto's Workshop knight having a new torso, and otherwise standard soldier bits.
