Baby Dragon: Less likely. Lego's come up with a lot of new baby dragon molds in the past year, so there's not a lot of need to keep this specific one around.

Counterpoint: Lockheed (though the new Ninjago baby dragon mould would also work for him).

Anyways I would make some guesses anyways:

  • Lady of Pain´s Head: Probably the ones that I would say is the least likely, but you never know, they could just use it as some kind of decoration (unprinted of course)
  • Tiefling Hair: I see very little use for this one really, as it mainly fits for a tiefling and if they were to do a devil for instance they would likely do a new hair instead of using this one.
  • Baby Dragon: Sure there are other moulds for this around but I could see this one beeing reused - either as a dragon, or as decoration/gargoyle.
  • Mindflayer-Head: Unless we see another D&D-Set I don´t know for what it would be reused, especially since you can´t attach a head to it or anything. Same goes for the Intellect Devourer.
  • Elf Bard Hair: Not that unlikely to see it again I think, since there are other themes where they could use it for elves.
  • Dwarven Axe: Probably the part with the biggest chance to see it again.
  • Aarakocra: They could reuse the head for a fantasy brickbuilt creature, but probably that isn´t that likely - better chance for the wings I think.
  • Druid Hood: Only way to use that again would be a druid - and I don´t think we will see one again for a while.
  • Gith Dagger: I guess it depends on if they need one that looks similar again, so maybe the chances for that one are not too bad.
  • Dragonborn Breastplate: Hard to say, there are others around that are more commonly used, but I could see it used again with time to get some diversity into everything. Also could fit good to a tourney knight, since many wish for such a set.

My guesses:
 - Double-bladed axe head: Decent chance; it is very reusable for Castle/Vikings sets and CMFs, but also not something that will start showing up in every other City set. I would not expect to see it again until late 2025 at the earliest.
 - Gith dagger: 50/50; this really depends on the future of the DnD theme. If we get more sets, I can see it returning, but it feels less likely to appear in a normal Castle set. I do also think that it could reappear as NPU in an Icons or Speed Champions set, though.
 - Tiefling hair: 50/50; entirely dependent on the future of the DnD license.
 - Baby Dragon: Less likely than some of the other parts, but I can see it appearing in a DnD set or a normal CMF series (maybe as a companion to a wizard or a Dragon Masters knight?).
 - Magic bolts: Unlikely, unless we get more DnD sets. Gambit does not appear to use it in the X-Mansion, which is the main reuse opportunity for the piece IMO.
 - Mace head: Very likely; the part is not so specific as to have limited reuse potential (as was the case with the CMF Frightening Knight’s mace head), so I can see it coming back in light grey as part of an airplane engine in a City set!
 - Dragonborn armour: Very likely; while it is more fantasy-looking than the classic breastplate, we already have gotten Castle knights with the Ninjago MotM armour (Medieval Blacksmith), so this piece reappearing in a future Castle set or CMF feels inevitable (especially since the reception to this piece has been overwhelmingly positive).
 - Hood with antlers: Low chance; this part is extremely specific to the Druid ‘fig, and it seems unlikely to reappear even in a future DnD set.
 - Aarakocra head: 50/50; entirely dependent on the future of the DnD theme.
 - Aarakocra wings: Very likely; this piece can be reused for winged mythical creatures in future CMF lines, as well as for comic characters (Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Golden Eagle Armour Wonder Woman, etc).
 - Mindflayer head: 50/50; entirely dependent on the future of the DnD license.
 - Intellect Devourer: 50/50; entirely dependent on the future of the DnD license.
 - Elf hairpiece: Likely; this hair, like the Gith hairpiece, can be reused in any future DnD set.
 - Lady of Pain mask: Unlikely, as it is incredibly specific to this particular character.
 - Tasha’s hair-hat combo: Very likely - It is already a reuse!

For re-use, the Aarakocra parts could be recolored to gray for a statue or decoration for any City or Modular.  Dreamzzz is into birds this wave, so a dark minifig version could be viable in that theme.

The Lady of Pain mask would be great for more Carnival dancers!  Vidiyo had a leaf based one, but Lady of Pain fits a feather style.  Big headdresses show up in a few cultures.

I wasn't involved in setting up this display so don't know for sure why Tasha's cauldron wound up with the gith, why the halfling is missing his cloak, why the dwarf's axe head is upside down or why Tam is missing his handheld trans red skull. I suspect those are mistakes made by whoever arranged the minifigures.

The Batlle Axe Dwarf isn`t that exciting imo, but I really like the Dark Elf and Jergal Minifigs!

Already have ordered some of their custom minifigs in the past - you can`t tell any difference. ;-)

A complete set of 71047 ordered. I was thinking of ordering 1 extra of every male/female, but they were not for sale when I ordered. Now they are. Oh well, maybe if I find something else to order from that place, while there is still 71047's there.

And they're out officially today! I hope I see some today on my trip to Taunton but if not I'll pop into the shops on the way home from work tomorrow.

Picket up my box on Friday from a local toy store also got the 3 Paladins from the box on shelf in the same store
I was rather good at feeling the bags, but it takes time (and look suspicious sometimes) so I love the new scanning since it is rather quick and tidy, in addition you still get the same minifig hunt feeling as before

Went to a toy store today to get the whole set, and after spending like half an hour scanning various boxes I was told at checkout that there was a maximum of three per customer for some bloody reason, God forbid someone gets themselves a full set in one purchase. I did fortunately have a couple of people with me so I ended up being able to get 9 of 12, but still a bit annoyed. Will have to get the Dwarf Barbarian, Strahd, and Szass Tam another day.

As for the figures I did get, solid impressions overall. I'd say my favourites are the Elf Bard, Dragonborn Paladin, and Tasha, but I don't think I could truthfully tell you that there's a single bad figure in the set. This is the first time in my lifetime of buying Lego that I'm completing a CMF, and that's saying something (although sets only having 12 rather than 20 minifigs compared to when I was last properly invested in CMFs probably helps).

I managed to find all apart from the Dragonborn at the end of the day today at the London Battersea store. People are clearly army building with that one!

My local walmarts have all lego under glass locked shelves. Some of the minififures are locked there too and some are hanging on display out in the open, but I did notice that they bumped up their price to $5.23 in the locked glass shelves. I didn't get around to ask why the price change or if it was a mistake on their end. I'll ask tomorrow.

I just got seven from two Wal-marts near me, and they were all $4.98. Not sure why yours would be higher...

After just one day, one of the Wal-marts near me has already sold 2/3 of what they had, and the other one just got theirs out when I arrived. Between the two stores, I got three Dragonborn, two Halflings, one Tasha, and one Tiefling. Half of those are for family, but I'm keeping some of them as duplicates to go with my full sets, which should be arriving shortly. The codes are definitely handy, but a part of me does kinda miss feeling up bags. Noticed lots of Dwarves and Lady of Pains still around...

I went to a LEGO store today, fully expecting them to be sold out. But they still had a full box worth (split over two boxes) and I got all the six duplicates that I wanted (full set ordered and on the way), plus an extra two Dragonborn (for four in total).

The staff said they didn't think there was enough for a full set, but I think everything was there. Curiously, there was another Dragonborn available. The Gith Warlock, Tiefling Sorcerer, Mindflayer, and Strahd von Zarovich were all very low on stock with just one or two remaining.

I have two full sets on order, plus picked up an extra couple of the ones I want repeats of (elf ears in yellow & the Aarakocra torso). I've never bought so many CMF before - I don't think I've even one full set of any other. In my local (Dublin) store, the staff have divided out the types so you can just ask for this or that one. Staff mentioned the Paladin is the most in-demand.

I have to say I'm very glad this series is as popular as it is. I'd like to see them do another (or a few more) series, and the good sales will feed into that.

Failing a new series, I hope Lego at least learn lessons here - the pair of doubled-expression heads in most, the keeping of flesh tones away from the torsos/legs. They really seem to have gone the extra mile in terms of interchangeability, which should really be one of Lego's core tenets.

Pictures of hording the Dragonborn on social meda is disgusting. I did manager to get a full set at my Wal*Mart. I scanned all 160-ish boxes. Only one Dragonborn left compared to 10+ of each other one.

I live away from big towns and always order lego from Amazon. Mindblown to get 3 dragonborns in 1 order. I guess i got lucky because i clicked as soon as i saw an update on amazon day 1. Just go with Amazon order from the official store (not from personal stores, they obviously scan those, but i assume that official lego store don't. I was getting good orders with Space cmf as well)  If you didn't buy any of these figures yet - this way you will be sure to get a variety of good quality first time. I can't imagine how it is going to store in big cities where lots of potential buyers live.

PS: Surprisingly I never got an Elf Bard and got just one barbarian dwarf (the other triple I got was Druid)... Everywhere I see people complain about those elves/dwarves being most common.

From what I've experienced personally, scanning figures in new/nearly new boxes (from about three of them I think), the figures have been packed in groups, so you'll have three next to each other, then another three, and so on. If that still holds, then it's likely why you got three Dragonborns.

It would really help if people who post which scanning apps work for them would specify which type of phone operating system they are using.  I have an android and the only app I've ever been able to get to work is the Bricksearch one.

That is the downside of being able to identify the figures prior to purchase. Some people want complete sets, others want an army. It is not really any different to when there were barcodes, dotcodes, or feelable packets. Spartans, elves, Romans, and most warrior type figures have been army builders over the years.
