Minifigure Maddness are excellent for full boxes. They currently have a limit of 1 box (72 figs) but that will change some time after release

The price seems ok as it is atm 6 full sets. Are they uk based? Because with brexit and customs…

They are based in Ireland, so no problems with Brexit related shenanigans.

Planet Fun Toys has them listed at $50 for a complete set - LEGO Minifigures Dungeons and Dragons 71047 - Set of all 12 figures (p – Planet Fun Toys

Or a case of 36 for $140 - LEGO Minifigures Dungeons and Dragons 71047 - Case of 36 (Pre-order) – Planet Fun Toys

I saw these on Reddit. Never bought from them before, but others (who regularly contribute to the community in meaningful ways) have said they've used them in the past and it was all good.

CMF Dungeons & Dragons 71047 - Set of all 12 (Pre-Order) - $49.99 : r/legodeals (reddit.com)

I've been able to do two separate orders from them without issue a couple of times before, and it wasn't any different for me when I did it this time.

That's a pretty good alternative, especially for smaller quantities, but after tax it's still a little cheaper to go with Minifigure Madness.

Found another place where you can preorder for 115 postage included for 1 full box, however the payment is bugging

Agreed. Thought it would be good to share because of the single set option. I ordered one set and then will look for a couple of the duplicates I want when they're out in stores. I don't think I want a huge number, as good as they are.

I've never purchased a full CMF set before, but will for this series.  How come so many places can sell a set at less than retail?  Or is it only cheaper for pre-orders?

And the set's elf ears are now on PAB!

It's part 107096 - the dark brown hair with dark toned elf ears of the wizard.

Shops can sell Lego for whatever they want, the retail price is just suggestion from Lego. Shops that sells a hole box of 36 figs can take a lower price and earn less per CMF, but sell a lot more and that way in total earn more.. A few shops will even take more than retail, but unless you are something like Hamleys they normally can not get away with that..

There’s lots more reviews of the dnd cmf online - I’m looking forward to seeing more mixed-up combinations and characters that can be made with the different pieces

Jay's Brick Blog confirms that the Gith comes with a spare knife (hooray!) and that the Halfling's horns are rubbery (boo!). The Lady of Pain's mask is also rubbery, but I don't care about her much, so I don't really mind. I'm also happy that the arm printing on this series seems to be much better than Marvel Series 2 - those ones were awful, and I'm glad those issues seem to be resolved and won't ruin these high-quality prints.

I'll be keeping two complete sets for myself, but I'm tempted to get a few spare Halflings and Dragonborns... We'll have to see how quickly I can get to Wal-Mart when they arrive.

I got to see them in person yesterday (post with pics). From the images I had seen online, the printing seemed quite busy, excessively detailed even. But IRL, it actually works.

I’m not a massive fan of the dungeon punk look with lots of stitching, straps and buckles. But it doesn’t bother me too much with these and does differentiate them from other Castle minifigures.

Looking at reviews, just a few quibbles -- i.e., I wish the new knife handle butt had a connection point, that the antlers were removable from the hood, and not a huge fan of the oversized pauldrons on the armor, etc.  But overall, I am pretty thrilled and think these are better than I could've hoped for normally.  Anyone know a good, reliable way to buy whole boxes in the States?  This is the first time in years that I've actually wanted a full box (or the 12 packs if they were ever available here).  Thanks -

Ebay  is all that I can think of right now.

How likely the accessories and minfigure parts will show up in other sets / themes? Like a baby dragon, a new dagger, a Dragonborn’s breastplate, an antlered hood, new wings, etc.  I understand that they are IP-locked but I wonder if they will show up somewhere else.

My guesses for those ones would be:

  • Baby Dragon: Less likely. Lego's come up with a lot of new baby dragon molds in the past year, so there's not a lot of need to keep this specific one around.
  • New Dagger: Tossup. It's obviously cheaper, since it's soft plastic, and comes with a spare. The shape is definitely more fantasy-medieval in design, so if a set comes out that matches that idea, it could go in there. Otherwise, the old dagger mold is more universal.
  • Dragonborn Breastplate: Less likely. Like the dagger, it probably fits in better with fantasy-medieval designs (as opposed to the older armor piece), but unlike the dagger, it's a more expensive piece and might be more difficult to keep in circulation.
  • Antlered Hood: Low. Parts with both hard plastic and softer rubber are expensive, so I think it will be exclusive to the CMF.
  • New Wings: Likely. It's a long overdue part that's generic enough it can be used in a lot of other circumstances. I could see it coming in a new set very soon, or recolored/with printing in a generic CMF next year.

Well nothing is really IP locked, that is more something that determines if parts should show up on Pick a Brick, but Lego can reuse them for anything if they want. But yeah, for some parts I don´t see much use but in the end you will never know when they will have something where a part could fit, and sometimes it might be something totally unexpected - and even parts where we say it is unlikely for them to show up again might show up while otheres we find more likely won´t.

Anyways I would make some guesses anyways:

  • Lady of Pain´s Head: Probably the ones that I would say is the least likely, but you never know, they could just use it as some kind of decoration (unprinted of course)
  • Tiefling Hair: I see very little use for this one really, as it mainly fits for a tiefling and if they were to do a devil for instance they would likely do a new hair instead of using this one.
  • Baby Dragon: Sure there are other moulds for this around but I could see this one beeing reused - either as a dragon, or as decoration/gargoyle.
  • Mindflayer-Head: Unless we see another D&D-Set I don´t know for what it would be reused, especially since you can´t attach a head to it or anything. Same goes for the Intellect Devourer.
  • Elf Bard Hair: Not that unlikely to see it again I think, since there are other themes where they could use it for elves.
  • Dwarven Axe: Probably the part with the biggest chance to see it again.
  • Aarakocra: They could reuse the head for a fantasy brickbuilt creature, but probably that isn´t that likely - better chance for the wings I think.
  • Druid Hood: Only way to use that again would be a druid - and I don´t think we will see one again for a while.
  • Gith Dagger: I guess it depends on if they need one that looks similar again, so maybe the chances for that one are not too bad.
  • Dragonborn Breastplate: Hard to say, there are others around that are more commonly used, but I could see it used again with time to get some diversity into everything. Also could fit good to a tourney knight, since many wish for such a set.

Good judgement.

I would be interested to see those D&D accsries and minifigure parts to show up in other sets or themes (including non-licensed CMF) in new colors.

I feel dagger and breastplate are more useful for Castle. The axe looks really cool for sure.
