Marvel Superheroes 2024 - Rumors & Discussion

I may be wrong, but I think Marvel owns these characters- at least the ones that aren't unique to Spiderverse. Why would you want them to be Spiderverse branded? If anything, Lego using generic Marvel branding is GOOD, because the less money Sony makes off of these movies the better, and it doesn't seem to impact the characters' popularity of Marvel's willingness to make toys.

Because both Spider-Verses are one of the best Marvel movies ever made, and many people here would literally kill for even a single Spider-Verse set?

Both of them are one of my favourite movies ever (in general, not just Marvel) and I would give my soul for even a Miles Morales minifigure in his ITSV / ATSV suit.

Seconded. I attended an early access charity screening for ITSV, and I will always remember the goosebumps I had at the 'leap of faith/whats up danger' scene. To think they say superhero films aren't cinema

they are avengers being reused from the tower/August wave apparently 😬

Cap, Thor, Scarlet Witch, Iron Man, Bruce or Nick Fury (one or the other)

That's an awful lineup. I guess the trinity is good, but scarlet witch is a bad pick. Why not Spider-Man? Or Black Widow or Hawkeye, if we're going MCU avengers lineup? For that matter, so is Nick Fury IMO, and 100% Bruce if it's him. He'd just look like some guy and it's not a creator like if they put Feige or Lee in (or Lucas or Filoni in the SW one). We have a minifig Hulk in circulation, why not use that?

What I'd do (if it was MCU specific): Kevin Feige, Cap, Thor, Iron Man, Spider-Man

What I'd do for re-uses for marvel in general instead of just MCU: Spider-Man (the current non-mcu suit), Wolverine (CMF or X-jet suit), Hulk (From 4+ set), Iron Man (Endgame suit), Black Panther (from shuri's lab)

What I think it should be since they should be able to do an exclusive fig or two: Stan Lee, Spider-Man, Hulk (minifigure), Wolverine, Mr. Fantastic.

I had to do a double take when I saw it was scarlet witch....it's very disappointing. Great character but I don't think she deserves a slot in this set

I love his suit in ATSV, so I second your notion

If you were picked by LEGO to hand pick the 3 characters they would make the next buildable construction figures for next spring, which characters would you pick?

Honestly, I'd probably pick Spider-Gwen, Carnage, and War Machine. The Spider-Man/Venom ones and Iron-Man buildable figure are the only Marvel construction figures I DON'T hate (the Green Goblin one is ok)

I'd go with the original MCU Avengers lineup as well. Bonus points if you couldn't just line up the figs next to each other but could make more of a diorama, i.e. Iron Man flying above the logo, Hawkeye tumbling from the logo while firing in mid-fall, and so on. But I guess it won't be like that.

Alfred_Molina_as_Otto_Octavius.jpg

NWH/Spider-man 2 Doc Ock, which would mean we'd have Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Venom and Sandman as buildable figures - the core villains from the original Raimi films. Would benefit from having the goggles covering some of the human facial features. Would pair well with 76298 and 76284 to allow people to replicate the bridge battle fight scene. I'm not sure we'd get Lizard or Electro due to lack of popularity and lack of consistent design respectively so Doc Ock would likely be the last of the NWH villains to be adapted. I doubt we'd see them adapt the other Spider-men at this time.

Sentinels-X-Men-Animated.jpg

X-Men Sentinel, the Sentinel's appear in varying sizes and could scale well with minifigures and would work for display purposes alongside the X-Men Mansion. No humanoid face so won't suffer from that aspect. I think they'd do a smaller Sentinel also as a build in the set, but I imagine they'd want a buildable figure.

5493409-2921322248-latest

Black Panther, seems like an easy option to make given the majority of the figure would just be translating the core build of 76273's Batman and the abundance of black pieces which can form the core of the suit. I think the character is still popular enough. The design would probably be his suit as seen in Civil War, the first appearance of the character. Mask would reduce reliance on human faces which Lego has difficulty adapting to the buildable figures:

Runners up would be:

  • Ultron - For the 10th anniversary of AoU, giving us a core villain from the Avengers films. His robotic appearance could translate in interesting ways and he'd pair well with the existing Avengers characters, but which version of him to adapt and his facial design would be tricky to choose.
  • Galactus - With the release of Fantastic Four in 2025, I'd imagine any Galactus set or figure would be relegated to the later half of the year. Though I do think the potential for a buildable figure of the character is high, depending if Lego recieved finalized concept art in time for the design - unless they went comic-inspired.

Whether you like it or not (and please let’s not get into a discussion about our own feelings on the matter, this isn’t the place for it) Lego and Marvel have both shown they (at the very least want to appear to) care about diversity and representation. It’s not hard to see why they would pick 3 white men, one woman and a black man over 5 white guys (assuming it’s Fury, not Banner).

Scarlet Witch is kind of the biggest female character from a recent successful movie (let’s assume the poor financial return on the Marvels put them off Carol and Kamala) and Nick is easier to include than Sam (no wings) - I can kinda see how they got there. I think Fury is the oddest choice tbh.

Could have just done the expected: Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Nick Fury, Black Widow to fit that. I'm not sure we needed Scarlet Witch here as they'll likely have her in the Civil War set.

Well that figure line-up for the Logo is extremely underwhelming.

If I was Lego and wanted this to sell well I would do the following MCU characters: Black Widow (Iron Man 2), Captain America (CAWS stealth suit). Iron Man (Gold MK3 or MK2), Thor (Ragnorok final battle with missing eye) and Hawkeye (Ronin). All of which are variants of the main Avengers that haven’t been made before.

I’m betting that the SW logo will have reuses of Han, Luke, Leia, Chewbacca and Vader. Though I would prefer cooler characters or cool variants of the main 5.

@calebcold3: My ideal characters would be: Symbiote-suit Spider-Man, Deadpool, Superior Iron Man, Ms Marvel (carol danvers) and Thor (herald of galactus)

Deadpool, Black Suit Spider-Man, and Stealth Suit Captain America. Let’s burn this forum to the ground.

Would have liked that too. For the MCU that would have been great, though I still assume the logo is just gonna say "marvel", and therefore that it should have some presence of non-MCU characters.

Regardless of how dumb that is as lego's requirement, it doesn't make the figure choices any less weird. Fury makes a little sense as the organizer of the avengers, but I think BP would be a better choice as someone who had an MCU breakout in popularity almost as strong as Iron Man. More importantly, Black Widow is a founding Avenger with her own movie. Why is Scarlet Witch in here instead of her? And for that matter, why are we doing MCU only? Does the logo say Marvel Studios?

This might turn the marvel subforum into the DC one.

This dude made my dream list, so I’ll just jump off of his list instead of coming up with my own. :P

A Doc Ock Construction Figure is a match made in heaven, such that it’d be the first and only buildable figure I’ll buy. (Doc Ock is one of my favorite Marvel villains, so that’s a plus.)

I’d like to see a Sentinel Construction Fig as well, with figures of Gambit, Magneto, and Leech. 😉

I could go either way on Ultron vs Black Panther. I think LEGO might be discouraged from Black Panther because of the $300 bust that flopped (not because of BP, obviously), and I think an Ultron Prime would look cooler.

I’d prefer a giantfig for Galactus, so that he fits better with other minifigs.

I’d like to remind everyone that a Captain Wilson Construction Figure is coming in Dec, if memory serves me right.

$33 for an empty box. I fear for the day Lego discovers this post.

Wait I didn't mention deadpool (though if lego was going to make a figure of him, he certainly has a unique enough place in the universe to warrant a fig in the logo set)

Wouldn't be surprised if they sold that at Comic-Con and they know damn well someone would buy it.  ''OMG EMPTY BOX BUT THE PACKAGING IS SO COOL AND IS A RARE ITEM I COULD SELL FOR THOUSANDS ON EBAY''

To be fair, Deadpool isn't really that unique, he's become a very popular character in Pop Culture, it increased so much with the 2016 movie and this new movie will only further his popularity, he's so popular that almost every Marvel merch has him

I'll settle for just two - Galactus and a Sentinel. As long as we get both of those next year I don't care who they pick for the third option.

Scarlet Witch has had a massive surge in popularity ever since Infinity War and WandaVision that its reached the point where she's now on par (if not surpassing) Black Widow as Marvel's most popular heroine. Even among the male heroes she's been a massive fan favorite throughout the Multiverse Saga. I can understand why they would include her here.

With the new face/armor piece introduced in the August DreamZZZ sets, my money is on a buildable MCU Vulture. That piece looks like it was practically made wirh that in mind. It doesn't feelclike a piece that was specifically designed for DreamZZZ but rather the DreamZZZ just so happen to be coming out before the set that piece was initially designed for.

I couldn't agree more! Also, I would instantly buy a buildable figure of the Ghost Rider-posessed-Celestial from the 2018 Avengers comics but I doubt they would ever make that sadly. They COULD make a Robbie Reyes Ghost Rider buildable figure(or even one based on Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch) and I would treat it like the Celestial he posessed. To be fair though, I will literally buy anything Ghost Rider-related that LEGO is willing to make.

Maybe a comic-accurate Giant Man or Goliath would be neat but they aren't high on the list. Basically, any character that would make sense as a large buildable character that can interact with minifigs and be in roughly the right scale.

The Deadpool on the box is the same as the 2012 figure, crashing the market on the figure. Meanehile, Wolverine has an extra tear on his torso, making the figure exclusive to the set box. Cutouts go for $250-$350 a piece. X-Bros make dozens of YouTube videos asking why LEGO hates X-Men fans.
