[MOC] Blacktron Trident - NoVVember build

Recommended Posts

Here's my effort for a NoVVember build this year. A Blacktron themed Viper inspired by the Trident design. I think I met the criteria for a Vic Viper but if I didn't, well.. not much I can do about that now. 😛

Thanks for looking! :)

Sweet build. Not as angular as one thinks from Blacktron, but it definitely has the vibe. NPU with the piece on the backside of the cockpit.

Thanks buddy. I'm the first to admit I was never into Classic Space and Blacktron first time round so I tend to create CS and Blacktron builds that appeal to my own aesthetic preferences. Interesting to learn that Blacktron are associated with angular ships though. I may explore that more in a future moc!

Looks like a Vic Viper to me! And agreed on the NPU - that's a Rakshi backpiece, right?

It is, thanks for the ID on it. I knew it was Bionicle but couldn't place the set as I got it in a bulk buy. 😊👍

hah - that's about as modern as my Bionicle knowledge extends. I'm disassembling & sorting a bulk buy now and have no idea who most of the figures are.

Very nice job! I really like how well you integrated the Bionicle/Technic elements, as they can often stand out when used in normal System builds!
My only critique is the lack of any trans-red in the model; just a few 1x1 rounds added to the forward blasters and camera pieces around the dark grey exhausts would make a big difference and solidify the Blacktron I colour-scheme.

Did Blacktron have trans red in it? Huh. I thought it was trans yellow only. Every days a school day so they say 😄 Mental note made to include some trans red in next Blacktron build! Thanks! 😊👍

Yep! It was used for the lights, antennas, dishes, lasers, and other accent pieces.

I'm always a fan of when people use Bionicle parts in their spaceships, well. done.

In terms of being a Vic Viper, I don't think the forward prongs are prominent enough. I fell the forward prongs should be sticking past the cockpit, but that's just my opinion. still excellent, so I had to blog it https://color-it-blacktron.blogspot.com/

Haven’t really been a Classic Space, even as a kid, proffering Pirates and Castle. But damn this build is almost enough to make a convert out of me. Do you plan on making plans available on Rebrickable, because this build might be what tips me over the edge towards starting to collect another theme.

Won’t be doing instructions for this no. It’s a freestyle build and is built for looks rather than strength and stability and building it would be super frustrating for anyone and I’d get a lot of angry builders shouting at me. 😄

Ah fair enough. It’s a fantastic build nonetheless and you should be very proud. Kudos.
