The problem these days is that with so few regular sets, allocating 20% of the theme's playsets to a one-off animated special means we are getting even fewer "normal" playsets. If they would go back to 25+ LSW playsets a year, 3 RTG sets wouldn't really be getting in the way. Agreed. Between the small number of sets overall, the many buildables/dioramas and now the RTG sets we're getting very few playsets these days (and that doesn't even touch on the lack of cheap sets like battle packs etc., or issues within the sets we do get like the eyes or inaccurate details on minifigures). Darth_Bane13 Posted August 3 I feel like most of the diorama sets could've just been playsets (Endor, Yoda's hut, Final duel) instead they just slap a black base around it and charge double that of a playset

mirkwoodspiders Posted August 3 I forget - is LEGO done with SW dioramas? I didn't see any in the January wave leak, and I thought I heard somewhere TPM would be the last. It'd be a shame if it were done, I've really liked that sub-theme.

Always in motion is the future. Barring any official announcement - which is rare - so far there are only rumours about the winter wave (and rumours lately have not been 100% reliable). Maybe there will be dioramas later in the year - TPM diorama released in May - or maybe they will be gone for a year and then come back again, like battle packs did. Anything is possible. Rwbricks Posted August 4 My brother wanted the Jaws set (third of the Spielberg dioramas), so we went to the LEGO Store today, and I got a couple of the August releases. For Star Wars, it was interesting to see that the only set that was sold out was the Dark Falcon, and they had four slots(?) full of Jedi Bob’s Starfighter. I got and built C-3PO, and I have to say that I think it’s great. The sculpting and details are very well done, and I absolutely love his pose, down to the lean. It’s a sturdy build with great techniques and piece usage. I will say, the color of the new dome and slope molds on his head, as well as a few other pieces, do not quite match the same color as the rest of the pearl gold pieces. Thankfully, it’s not too noticeable, but it is disappointing, quality-standards wise. It is nice to be able to get the dual-molded C-3PO, though.

It kind of just includes the most random stuff you can think of—Darth Jar Jar Binks, Jedi Bob, White Vader, Summer Luke Skywalker, a combination of an X-Wing and a TIE Fighter, Dark Millennium Falcon etc. Interesting. With Darth Jar Jar and characters with names like 'Sig Greebling' it seems it's Star Wars AFOL fanservice, while simultaneously a kids' show.
Agent Kallus Posted August 4 The marvel logo set is rumoured to come with a new Captain America variant, and the others might also be new variants. Which got me wondering if the SW logo would also come with new figures. On the one hand new figures would be nice to get, on the other I am not going to get this set. But Ideal scenario would be for some interesting deep cuts ( Mara Jade, Vernestra Rwoh (Young), Prince Xizor, Darth Nihilius, Ransolom Casterfo and Rebel Kallus or Durge, Marchion Ro, Jedi Revan, Yaddle, Concept art Chiss Kallus and Darth Krayt) or Variants ( O3 CW space helmet Sasae Tinn, Maul-dalorian Obi-wan, Original Poster Leia, CW 03 Tattooed Anakin, Naboo Meadow Padmé, Deleted Scene sandstorm googles Luke )but with the figs available elsewhere ( Magazine, another set or pickabrick)
hikouki Posted August 4 With Jabba's sail barge coming soon, I notice that Lego does update these classic sets every certain number of years. What is your most-wanted remake? Mine is 'Palpatine's Arrest' and I would like it to have a more substantial build and as many minifigs as possible.

But for common sense if there was a figure it probably would be a character that is widely known by everyone instead of someone from like legends or a game. Alex_South Posted August 4 starting to see it reported on instagram that ahsoka's interceptor comes with Ahsoka Anakin and R7. If true I need ahsoka to have harry potter short legs and arm printing, and Anakin needs a new hairpiece, but his typical ROTS outfit would be fine. The only way he would need arm printing is if it was his CW appearance but I doubt it.

Otherwise I just don't see how that price can be remotely justified.
wesker Posted August 5 Hopefully Anakin is based on his early Clone Wars costume. The existing minifigures have never done it justice with the wrong use of colors. Sure he wasn't wearing it in the Season 5 episode where Ahsoka's Interceptor appeared but Clone Wars sets have often played it loose when it comes to screen accuracy that it shouldn't really matter. If it does wind up being the ROTS version can Anakin finally get an accurate hairpiece for a change?
ToaDraco Posted August 5 (edited) 9 hours ago, TheScaryDoor said: Thats more part of the wislist section but I reallly really want a B-Wing and Tie Advanced. Same here, it's utterly insane to me that we've only ever gotten 4 playscale TIE Advanced X1s and the last one was part of the Rebels show sets from 8 years ago! We are way overdue for a new one. I just hope it's not part of a double-pack like the last one was. LEGO has been doing an excellent job of giving us updated TIE variants the last few years so I'm confident we'll see it relatively soon. Same goes for the B-Wing. So Ashoka's Eta-2 is rumored to include her, R7 and Anakin with 300 pieces for $45 usd. Ignoring ppp(which I always do because it's a completely useless metric and always has been), $45 for a Jedi Interceptor with 3 figures is utterly insane, even if all 3 figures have the maximumamount of printing and dual molding needed and all decorated parts of the ship are prints rather than stickers(which of course, is never going to happen). Every year it seems LEGO just keeps adding $5 to Jedi Starfighters/Interceptors without any serious justification and it has to stop. Inflation doesn't justify that much of an insane leap in such a short time. I think they're just pushing their luck to see how much they can squeeze out of people before they see sales start to dip. I think we all know it's going to be essentially the same ETA-2 build we've seen since the beginning with a few improvements using newer pieces but as much as I would love to see an overhaul to the canopy design, I don't see it happening. They've got me though. I'm a huge fan of the ETA-2 and Delta-7/Delta-7Bs and I collect the LEGO versions, so I'm probably going to end up coughing up retail for it(and because my area never gets good discounts). Watch, in 2026 we're going to get another slight variation on a Jedi Starfighter/Interceptor with a Jedi and an astromech for $50 usd. Just typing that out makes me feel sick to my stomach... sigh I do hope the Anakin that comes in this set is based on his earlier armored Clone Wars appearance, even if it doesn't necessarily make sense for the scene this ship appears in. I just love the look of the armored Jedi robes. If this is the case, then I fully expect him to have arm and leg printing. It would also be nice if R7 had back printing, but I won't hold my breath. Archer Posted August 5 Just finished building the Onyx Cinder. I know the show is still a mystery and the figs aren't exactly exciting, but build-wise it is very solid and unique. if you have been collecting lego star wars for a decade or two like i have than all the sets (save C-3PO) that just came out are pretty similar to their old counterparts. The ISD is the best version of an ISD but it did not reinvent the way those are built, Falcon is a falcon, etc. The cinder is quite impressive with how well all the paneling comes together, and as i suspected its looks a lot better with all the hatches closed up and in flight mode. It also makes very good use of it's interior space. Just thought I'd put that out therre since I've seen a fair amount of negative thoughts toward the set, and I for one like when lego does something new instead of yet another rehash. She’s already 17 at the time of the episode where the interceptor appears, and by this point in the show is significantly taller than adult characters who have normal legs, like Leia or Peli Motto. (Also it looks like the Harry Potter characters get normal length legs at age 15 or older in Lego.)

I don't even want to think they considered putting the Jedi robes variant which we've seen countless of times. They put Mace Windu in the Grievous's combat speeder so scene accuracy has never been the standard with Clone Wars era sets. There has to be some kind of draw for them to justify the 45$ price point. icm Posted August 5 A new cockpit design is the one thing that could make the new Eta-2 interesting for me. Hope it's good! Still going to try to get it half price no figs though, $45 for an Eta-2 is insane.

Guessing that the new cockpit design is part of the cost. Glad to hear we have a reliable source on this, so there is a chance there are more figures besides anakin? Though honestly he's the only one I really needed to be in this set to sell me on it. Also a new cockpit design is the best news I could get for this set. The jedi interceptor has needed an overhaul for years, the core design has never been altered. Also the colors on ahsoka's interceptor are deep red and white, which matches perfectly with other republic ships: coruscant gunship, grogu escape speeder, and the new ARC-170, if you want a fleet of standard-issue republic vehicles now is the time to collect, I personally dislike a hodgepodge of color variants. 2 hours ago, QuiggoldsPegLeg said: I think short legs for Ahsoka wouldn’t make a lot of sense in this scenario. In universe Ahsoka is well below Anakin's height and in minifigure form with the custom headtail piece she winds up being taller than him. Mid-legs fixes that and fits with the intent of the CW version of the character being a teenager. In my opinion this set is being made as a direct response to perceived demand for both characters after episode 5 of Ahsoka and in that episode especially it was clear that CW era ahsoka was much shorter than anakin. It will also look much better to differentiate between young ahsoka and older ahsoka we have in T-6 and Peridia. We also just got a bunch of mid-legs in the skeleton crew set and I think the height looks perfect for her.

Whichever robes he's wearing, I just really hope he's not wearing a pilot headset. Non-CW Jedi Knight Anakin figures without the headset are surprisingly scarce (only 4 in total, one being the old light-up version and only 2 of the remaining 3 having a single non-dark-side face, and even those 2 have one dark side face so only one 'good' face each).
