I'm always a side build advocate, but I'd never really thought of it as a method of increasing the perceived value of a set before.

I think add-ons, even if they're Minifigures, definitely add perceived value. If it's just a ship, even if it has a more refined build or more pieces than the previous version, ultimately two versions of a ship function about the same. If one is vastly more expensive, the comparison is worse. If one contains some cool side stuff though, it will feel much better.

Also agreed the AAT was at least $5 too expensive at the time, but Ahsoka and the clone did make it feel exciting...

Please. I'm begging you. We have had so many more clones than any other faction this past few years. Please. Let them take- not even a backseat, let them just get a normal proportion of sets/figs for a bit.

Begging like a turtle?

But yeah, I love clones. But too many of the faction sets are being allocated to them right now. It has taken this over abundance of clones for me to realise that my loyalty primarily lies with the empire. Clones are second.

There will inevitably soon be a new imperial and rebel golden age. And I will no longer be a major supporter of the Republic.

I agree with this. Is it JangBricks who uses the 'volume of stuff' metric when reviewing sets? I'd sacrifice detail in the main build for a couple side builds, it makes overpricing easier to swallow.

(Of course I'd rather have sets be priced reasonably to start with, but...)

Someone edited the Ezra, Hera and Ahsoka figures to have normal eyes and wow they look so much better. Wish LEGO scrapped the coloured eyes back in 2013 when they were first experimenting with them.

One of many questionable design decisions in recent years. Whoever is signing them off has got it so wrong.

Whoah, we're finally getting an Acclamator? :oh3:

That's my favorite Star Destroyer class  so glad LEGO is finally making one, albeit MIDI-scale!/
I'll definitely buy it, when it comes out :sweet:

Mitch

I'm not trying to wishlist, but thinking about what figs to expect the sets I'd guess

Arc-170: 2-3 clone pilots, an astromech & a random jedi ( hopefully one I don't already own  )

Ahsoka's Interceptor: Ahsoka (S3-S5 outfit), R7, hopefully someone else as well

The Grogu Grogu

Acclimator : Nobody ( which is one of the top ten Mitski songs IMO)

Home one : Nobody (again)

4+ Naboo Starfighter, if Naboo royal guard version: Anakin, Padmé, Artoo, Jar-Jar, B1s or destroyer droids.

4+ Naboo Starfighter if it's Din's Hot rodded version: Din Djarin, Grogu, Greef, Peli, R5-D4

Sounds fairly realistic, but I wager they’d replace the Jedi with a third clone (like Oddball) :classic:

We can only hope, but both versions of Yoda’s Interceptor only came with him and R2.

The leakers seem fairly convinced it’s Mando’s  That list is awfully optimistic, I’d actually be surprised to see more than one figure in addition to Din and Grogu. Peli would be plausible! Greef and his glorious S3 drip however deserve to be in a “real” set

Ah, well I had misremembered it being at higher price point (which would suggest more figures), but I wouldn't be surprised if they threw someone like Greef in there to give it an additional selling point for fig collectors. I mean Grogu and Mando are incredibly common nowadays so I think someone more unique might also be included just to tempt those who otherwise wouldn't get it.

As for Minifigs, Ahsoka’s Eta-2 appears during the Battle of Cato Neimoidia, so the set should include her brown costume from the latter half of TCW (hopefully with arm printing for the diamond cutouts on her sleeves!), R7-A7, and maybe a buzz droid or two. The only additional characters who I can see appearing are Anakin (RotS version, as he had switched from his earlier armoured design by this point), Rex (reused, ideally with a jetpack as he is wearing one in the scene), or just a 501st Trooper.

This makes a lot of sense to me, they were all in that scene together.

Lego gets to put Rex in another set and then clone wars versions of Anakin and Ahsoka would make this the perfect lineup to meet fan demand after the flashback episode of Ahsoka. It would also explain the price a bit if you could buy one set and essentially get the main cast of the show. I want it to be early clone wars Anakin but I know they will go with the ROTS version since it has synergy with TCW, the Ahsoka flashback, and the ROTS anniversary. He better have a new hair-mold. R2 is probably pushing our luck but he was also in the scene, or it's just Ahsoka and A7 and 2 buzz droids, which would be terrible.

The ARC-170 is somewhere at the top of my wishlist, so next year's gonna be worth it for that alone.

And Jedi Interceptors are always nice. The price however...

Way too many Minifigs to be realistic!
My guesses are either TPM (Anakin, Artoo, and maybe a third ‘fig) or Mando (Mando, Grogu, R5-D4). Also, Droidekas are too complex builds for a 4+ set.

My bet is: Named Clone pilot (Jag or Oddball), generic Clone pilot, Astromech, Jedi (Plo Koon if Jag, maybe Shaak Ti if Oddball). LEGO likes to mix things up a bit, so I doubt that we will get a lineup of just Clones.

Additionally, as neckwear is considered too advanced a technique for 4+ sets, he would not have his cape if he were to appear.

We are drowning in Artoos, so I am fine with him being excluded! A RotS (late TCW) Anakin would also pair well with any RotS Obi-Wan that we could get later in the year (maybe a new General Grievous chase, or he could appear in the ARC-170).

His existing one is fine for TCW, though we need a new one for RotS; the Old Luke mullet is decent, but we really need something with bangs.

I am the sort of weirdo that owns the Young Jedi adventures sets. And the titular younglings do have their capes in those 4+ sets.

In my defence (A) I am an eternal optimist and (B) I did misremember the set as being $50.

Plo would be a nice choice for another fig in the Ahsoka set. I know he wasn't there but TLG often ignores that sorta thing for fig inclusions and he's a less common figure than say Anakin but still has that connection to Ahsoka.

That's what I've been saying already! Hera definitely should have had black eyes from the very beginning.

Yet characters like Thrawn and BTAS Joker should have red and yellow eyes respectively, since they are colors of their eyeballs (which, sadly, hasn't been done in Joker's case).

OT Palpatine may have (or not) benefitted from black eyes too. Either way, black pupils used to work better for Palpatine and Darth Maul, rather than plain yellow eyes.

Plo would fit better in the ARC-170 (with Jag).

How about this one (in reddish brown)?

A bit short in the back, but it works! I forgot that was still in production (since Lloyd has been using the headband version of his hair).

Fateful confirms on IG that we are getting six sets in January (we already know the names, but it was not clear that we were only getting the six that we know about).

It definitely looks black in that pic of the box! I would have preferred that it actually be black, since that is an unusual colour for Star Wars ships, but grey suits a hero ship better.

It definitely looked dark bluish grey to me at first, but I did doubt myself when a few of you guys mentioned it being black.

Yes

I agree completely- I like the rebels, but if they got the majority of battle packs for years, I'd be starting to get fed up.

I've been using She-Hulk's head for Hera for awhile now.
