From the side it just looks like a regular shiny Stormtrooper. The printing per se looks actually better than what I feared, the gold is more substantial, the red has some depth. But overall I miss the worn-out, battered look. A splash of gray would have helped a lot. ...and arm printing. For a set this size and price, without new moulds, this should have been possible. Yeah it definitely messes up the design, I’ll just give him a red arm to help break up the colors a bit.

TheUnusualBuilder Posted July 2 2 minutes ago, CloneCommando99 said: The ISD is the best set of the summer IMO. Anyone else agree? It's alright, but imo it pales in comparison to the 2006 and 2014 versions in terms of both size and interior, not to mention one of the most bland minifigure selections in LSW history. It does look very nicely detailed, but imo if they weren't going to focus on the aspects that make it a playset it should've just been a midi-scale ship, like the Executor from last year (which is a much better Imperial Flagship set for less than half the price). In my opinion the best set of the summer is the buildable C-3PO, but in terms of minifgure-compatible kits I'd cast my vote for the Skiff & Sarlacc - while the price is abominable and Boba is inaccurate, the rest of the minifigures and both builds look really fantastic. That said, I think it's almost inarguable that the summer waves were absolutely crushed in terms of quality by the March and May releases - based on those two waves I would've called 2024 one of the best years LSW has ever had, a sentiment which I unfortunately no longer hold. ToaDraco Posted July 2 Watching the review of the Peridia set, the Night Trooper somehow went from being the figure I was least excited about to being the one I'm most excited about. It looks so much better in real life. It still could have used arm printing or at the very least asymmetrical colored arms and more printing on the helmet but I'm hopeful we will get a bp at some point that will give us some more variants. I'm genuinely shocked that they actually included a brand new zombie face underneath the helmet rather than just a blank head. That elevates the figure quite a lot in my opinion. I immediately loved the Night Troopers the moment I saw them on screen and I can't wait to amass a variety of them and Captain Enoch eventually. Overall, this is definitely one of my favorite Star Wars sets this year and it makes for such a cool display. I am very much looking forward to it.

If they release a BP, it could be one of the most unique ones yet with a mix-and-match approach Even with just 2-3 unique helmet, torso, and leg prints, you could pretty quickly amass a nice-looking non-uniform army! And don’t tell me they wouldn’t give us multiple different helmets when they’ve done like 5 unique ones just for 501st Clonetroopers

Totally unnecessary, which makes it all the more great to have! Though I may swap it out- I really liked the post-apocolyptic but still alive night troopers, and while I'm not fully opposed to the zombie ones on Peridea, I hope we don't actually get Thrawn using an undead army across the galaxy. I don't think nightsister magick should be strong enough to work from a few sisters over a ton of planets, and one of my favorite things about Thrawn in his original trilogy was how he was a lot more respected by his suboordinates than vader (like the scene where the tractor beam operator tries something that doesn't work, Thrawn sees he was trying to do something innovative, and promotes him instead of killing him), which would be totally missed if his men are all zombies. 6 hours ago, FoggyFate said: I mean we did have basically two 501st battle packs last year so never say never. Swordy Posted July 2 “Ahsoka Tano’s Duel on Peridea” (1st, not the worst name and it’s justifiable. 2nd, I’ve been misspelling Peridea wrong and I want to apologize—it’s not Peridia) looks better than expected as far as the build goes. The Thrawn minifig looks perfect—thankfully forgoing the dad bod our Grand Admiral has for some reason that’s beyond me—and I’m just happy we got Thrawn back. Ezra’s eyes look just as off as they do in the show, so no complaints there. Ahsoka is too grey than white, and is missing a cloth piece that could’ve added more white back in. The torso should’ve been light grey, and there should be more white on her legs. As for her cloak, I luckily had enough foresight to save a CMF Storm for this purpose, but not everyone is in my shoes. Night Trooper looks too lonely, he needs a friend, like a second Night Trooper. Alternatively, switch him to a Double Death Trooper, a more desired and rarer trooper, then save our Nighty Boy for a battlepack. Other than that, I think he needs more dirt on his armor, and something to break up the plain white on his arms and lower legs. Zombie face is creepy, glad for all of you into that sort of thing, but I’ll be keeping the helmet on this guy, lol. $55 is a hard ask, but after seeing the set next to the Tantive Hallway, I feel better about the price. Still, although Thrawn is Thrawn is Thrawn, I don’t know if I’ll be buying this Day 1 or not. I’m inclined to the former, but we’ll see. “Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pit” (the most uninspired name yet, and I’ll keep pointing it out every time until they turn ship) looks surprisingly well. Sarlacc seems to be bulked up to meet the price, and I wish more minifigs or a second skiff had been included instead. Seriously, who’s supposed to drive the skiff? Boba Fett is a lazy reuse, especially for the price. I also wish they’d go ahead and dedicate a mold for ESB/RotJ Chewie (I prefer that hairdo over the ANH/sequels look anyway). Han’s shirt print looks too flat as well, thus I prefer the older version. Han’s “flyboy face” is fun, although I do fear that they’re converting over to the 2018 Han face, which doesn’t quite capture Harrison Ford. Beyond that, I really like the set, and think it’s a worthy inclusion for the 25th anniversary, UCS Sail Barge notwithstanding. Luke looks excellent all around (pearl dark grey would’ve been nicer for his torso, but that’s nitpicking). Lando’s return beyond the TRoS Falcon is welcome. Nein Numb is a delight to see, simply a delight. The skiff looks excellent, despite what others (you know who you are) say. The set doesn’t look too overpriced overall. Again, one more minifig and an accurate RotJ Boba Fett, and it’d be an absolute winner. Given its shortcomings, though, it’s not a Day 1 buy for me, but I will absolutely pick it up on discount eventually.

The thought of Thrawn leading a Zombie army and unleashing it on the galaxy makes me very excited but due to recent projects, I'm going to lower my expectations, I'm a big fan of the Death Troopers, Project Blackwing story and this Lego Minifigure will be the closest we'll ever get to a true Zombie Stormtrooper from that story. TheUnusualBuilder Posted July 3 Jedi Bob's Starfighter revealed by thebrickreporter on Instagram Looks interesting, it basically looks like an early-2000s era Delta-7 but souped-up, with big blaster cannons and huge engines underneath
ToaDraco Posted July 3 (edited) Okay, I LOVE Jedi Bob's Starfighter!! I was wondering if it might be inspired by Anakin's modified Blue Angel. I love the color blocking and the overall shape. The wings look wider than previous Delta 7s and 7Bs and it weirdly looks simultaneously modern and classic early to mid 2000s. I don't know how they pulled that off but it makes sense given the character. Bizarrely, there does not apear tocbe any kind of droid sockit on the ship. Anyway, I can't wait to see better pictures and get a look at the figures for the set. $40 actualy appears somewhat reasonable given the greater size and additional cannon and engine modifications added to the design. While I would have preferred a more fun color like teal, at least it appears predominantly white with what looks like regular red rather than dark red, along with dark bluish gray accents. Edited July 3 by ToaDraco
icm Posted July 3 Looks like a very modern build to me. It doesn't look like a 2000s-era Delta 7 to me at all.
Alex_South Posted July 3 (edited) Jedi Bob's star-fighter is the first delta-7 I want to own. It looks incredible, if there was ever a time for Lego to show favoritism and go all out on a mini-figure the time is now, give Bob dual molded legs and some arm printed CW gauntlets and a hair piece haha. EDIT: or maybe it's for the best if he matches his old version otherwise some folks might get upset. Edited July 3 by Alex_South

I'm ok with them skipping the dual molded legs and printed arms to better match the classic fig, but I don't see his cape and that has me worried....also hoping his classic smile is on the other side of the head. Overall this is a vast improvement over the last Delta 7, $40 doesn't seem as ridiculous as other sets this wave because of the added bulk, but I'll wait for more pics, especially with the other figs
Fenghuang0296 Posted July 3 I love the hot-rod-modded Delta-7 vibe. I was already committed to getting this one just for Jedi Bob, but the build is genuinely gorgeous and innovative and I like it a lot!
JohnTPT17 Posted July 3 Bob's set looks... Fine, to me. Not awful, not "have to get it Day 1," just... Fine. Especially at $40.
Mandalorianknight Posted July 3 Very, very nice look. Has a modern build with a retro feel a la the Galaxy Explorer remake. Not quite sure if it's worth $40- if it has three figs it's definitely more than the $30 from Obi-Wan's Delta-7, but rumor is it has two, and while it's certainly souped-up, I'll need to see the second fig and some more angles to see how much larger it is. ARC2149Nova Posted July 3 Best Delta-7 we've ever gotten. Flat, and appropriately arrowhead-shaped. Nice guns and the engines are nicely detailed, too. I think @THELEGOBATMAN predicted Bob's starfighter would be legendary. He was correct.
ToaDraco Posted July 3 (edited) I doubt they will do this officially, but I'm personally going to refer to it as the Crimson Demon as it's the perfect companion to Anakin's Azure Angel. *insert "It's beautiful. Clone OPatra Posted July 3 Wow my first impression was that it was super ugly! The colour scheme as presented in that photo is not working for me at all, and while the centre section shaping is better than 75333, it seems incredibly wide. Again, could just be that photo though. I wasn't going to buy this anyway, but I'm surprised at the positive reactions. Glad people like it though, as I prefer positively generally over too much negativity! (It's also not really like the Azure Angel, which has the flared out front sections over the big air intake thingies)

Llewop Posted July 3 Sorry guys I hate the look of Jedi Bobs strafighter. honestly this summer wave for me is the worst ever. Normally there is at least one set from a wave I want but this year there is literally none. Maybe a few figures I might get but I’ll wait for the prices of them to come down. i get the wave is dominated by the Lego show that’s coming out and they are doing something different and for those who like it then that’s good but for me I’m going to save few hundred pound and wait for something else to come along next year
