LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Recommended Posts

Maybe it‘s a good thing they haven‘t released any Acolyte sets yet, since now, they don‘t have to pay attention to spoilers anymore (the big two being

the fact Mae has a twin sister and the Stranger‘s identity

).

There‘s definitely set potential, with a Jedi Vector, the Exile II (Mae‘s ship), and the Polan (Sol‘s shuttle) all being viable options :classic:

I really hope you're right. As a lifelong Boba stan it'd really suck if they reused him when we've never had a fully-detailed RotJ version before (the only RotJ-specific version we've EVER had was in the 2017 skiff).

Also, he'd better have his cape. Not including it in the mech set was already bad. Some people go with the pathetic excuse of it not being able to fit with the structure of the mech, to which I say 1) they did it with Vader's cape and 2) if it really is an issue then just design the mech differently to accommodate it.

There would be absolutely no excuse, not even a lame shill one as with the mech, for him to not have it in the skiff set.

I think they will reuse the same boba again without the cape to maintain continuity with the minifigs and also they did not design a new minifig just for a mech I bet if we see another Slave I, they will use the same Boba

maybe the excuse for not including the cape is Boba Fett's jetpack to avoid damaging the cape with the jetpack piece(?)

The cape argument would be ridiculous, since the part of Boba’s cape that pokes out doesn’t even fit under the jetpack. And if they don’t make a new Boba I’ll be incredibly disappointed but not very surprised, since the Boba in the mech is the ESB version, being significantly different from the ROTJ version.

Really hoping for this- it was a bit disappointing that they gave Rey a green one in the Christmas set last year.

It was- it also implies a new trans-yellow blade would now count as a recolor (though c'mon, when has lego star wars had a low enough budget to worry about a recolor?)

I knew they were trying to keep the second one secret, but I legitimately didn't realize the first one was meant to be a non-marketed secret. Doesn't the poster show it?

Unless the show suddenly spikes in popularity with kids, I think the most we get is one set. A Vector with Sol and The Stranger would do best, but given lego put out a Justifier, you never know.

It does, but sometimes posters show

the same character multiple times

, so it wasn‘t super obvious just judging by the poster. Mae was shown prominently in the marketing, while

Osha

wasn‘t. Of course it‘s not a spoiler in the show itself because they reveal it pretty much the first chance they get, which I appreciated

I don‘t need a whole wave of sets, but if we can get minifigs of Sol, the Stranger, Jecki, Yord, Mae, and

Osha

, I‘ll be a happy camper :excited:

thebrickreporter says we're getting a new Ewok Village in 2025. As I remember, he's pretty reliable, no?

Hard to know if it’s true but there was someone on April fools who posted the same. They also mentioned about the lego horizon collaboration was continuing and now we are getting a game. There could be some merit in that rumour. Then again they could be going off this other person so it could just be Chinese whispers at the moment.

until there is a rumour accompanied by a set number and piece count then I’ll believe it

Depends on who the actual source is. As far as I know, he‘s not a leaker himself :shrug_oh_well: I‘ll wait for one of the trusted leakers to chime in

There had better be an Imperial Bunker set and stormtrooper Battlepack to go with it if it’s true.

Yeah, he doesn't name sources, just that people he trusts tell him it's legitimate. It's pretty early, so we'll just wait and see I guess. It'd be really exciting if it's true

You are of course right in that his helmet is a challenge. Thrawn, Ezra, and presumably Ahsoka too are merely new prints, a lot less cost intensive than a new mould. But then Lego has invested in new moulds for the Imperial Armored Commandos e.g., which showed up in one episode and which were destroyed in it (so it is unlikely to see them again). To me it seems weird that such a popular character like Enoch gets less attention than that.

...not that I am unhappy with the commandos, I like them.

Also, tbh, Enoch is cool but he is basically Phasma reloaded.
And we know who is really Thrawn's right hand: Pellaeon. That one is far more important than Enoch anyway.

Imperial Armored Commandos, 2 episodes. + ain't there the possibility that some might have survived?

Regarding Moff Gideon,

Spoiler

if he ain't dead, then he should be very, very, very badly hurt.

Somewhere in the first or second episode where the Jedi are testing the twins, there was a ship and someone was fixing a speeder. The first thing that popped into my mind was how LEGO designers are probably thrilled about this cause they can make another giant oversized speeder. They can create a set similar to the Bad Batch shuttle set, with a ship, speeder and give us some of the important characters. I suppose the show will probably get the Andor, TBOBF and Kenobi treatment with only 2 sets.

I hope we get a bunker with the village since an Ewok Village isn't really desired, we got one in 2013, it feels odd to remake it but honestly that,a bunker and an AT-ST with  a few trees and speeder  bikes would be cool

Weird if the ewok village leak is real, we haven't even seen the sail barge yet! I'm guessing (if real) that this is an October UCS as the May UCS set is usually much smaller. Which just makes it more weird this far in advance with how good Lego has gotten about leaks recently. I'd love to be proved wrong, but I don't believe this one.

I've added spoiler tags since you're talking about an episode the week of it's release. Please wait at least 1 week before discussing an episode.

People throwing out spoilers everywhere before I have a chance to watch something is a peeve of mine so it pretty stupid of me to do exactly that. I will try to be more careful in future.

All those sound like pretty good options though talking about spoilers

Spoiler

a Khofar forest battle set could be pretty great, all the major players are there and the bugs would make for something quite different build wise, with of course the falling trees being the necessary play feature. it could plausibly include Sol, Jecki, Yord, Mae, Osha and Qimir/The Stranger (though I doubt they'd be that generous on fig count as TLG can be quite stingy with that these days especially in SW). I do think the battle being such a massacre might make it a less likely set though. but if there are any Acolyte sets in the Jan wave then they would have to have been designed early so they might not even know.

2013 was a long time ago ago hermano, a lot has changed since then (including my purchasing power). I for one desire a new Ewok village, if it does indeed exist it might just be my first SW UCS/MBS set (because star wars is my most purchased theme I tend to prioritise other themes (like LotR of late) when getting bigger sets), but nonetheless I admit an Imperial bunker entrance would sweeten the deal either as it's own connected set (like the barge and the separate skiff this year) or as part of an Endor Ewok Village MBS. (Though I hope any potential tie-in battlepacks (ala the hoth snowtrooper one that partners well with the UCS at-at) includes Ewok and imperials over rebel endor commandos as there were a lot more Imps and Ewoks at Endor then rebels 9Ewoks especially as imperial troops could show up almost anywhere)

To hopefully stray back on target, could anyone tell by the trailer if Jedi Bob will be yellow or not? I feel like it's an important detail.

I'm pretty sure he's standard yellow.

He very much isn't reliable, no. He touted the fake death star leak as 100% true last year, and he consistently posts whatever he hears, rather than validating. He also consistently posts "update" videos for sets with little to no updates, and no sources noted for the updates he does give (when all added info is from sources like TandN, Brick Clicker, etc.).. This Ewok Village rumor has even now been updated to say "or maybe an Endor Bunker"..

All of this Endor stuff is from TandN's hint on his story a week or so ago when he put "Redwood" on top of a picture of the LEGO vault with 10236 under it, thus leading people to believe that a new Endor set is coming.

All that talk and speculation over Enoch for nothing. On the one hand, at least it's not a corner-cut figure. On the other hand, not Enoch.

A good scene for what it is. The price always feels high for these larger duel sets.

In my defense, there wasn’t a new mold lol.

Man, no Enoch is really disappointing. The single night trooper doesn't make much sense and doesn't even look good.

Well, at least I'm no longer craving a Night Trooper battle pack if THAT'S the best they could come up with. Come on, LEGO.

No Enoch is a bummer, but the fact we are getting a single night trooper makes me feel like the possibility of a Battle pack (maybe akin to the 332nd with Vaughn), with enough (with a new helmet mold) could be possible. Despite it, I actually love the build, it's very striking, other figures look awesome too!

The Desert Skiff is not what I expected. I like the beefier sarlac pit and the skiff looks awesome. Fig selection is solid, but Lando and Nien Nunb are the standouts for me. I have been waiting for a Lego Nien Nunb figure for like 20 years, I'm so excited its finally happening!

If the Ewok village is real (doubtful given the lack of confirmation). I am hoping we get Teebo and Leia (in the dress) again.  Those two are pricey and having a new option would be cool.

Thrown looks good, probably better we didn’t get Enoch if it doesn’t have a custom mold.  It is nice looking but I wish the build was scaled back for an easier price point to get the minifigs.

Sarlac looks good, this has an opposite effect on me than the peridia set.  I want the builds but only one or two of the figs, where the peridia set I just want the figs not the build (although it does look good).

Night Trooper sucks, omg.

Whoever priced the Skiff is on spice, 80 kriffing dollars!? :damn:

And it's the crappy round design, not the sloped design from 2012 and earlier.

About time! Thoughts so far.

The Good:

- The Duel on Peridea build looks phenomenal, as do the minifigures. These location sets we’ve been getting as of late are brilliant, and you can even reuse this as a backdrop for the Ahsoka / Baylan duel from Episode 4 of the show.

- The Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pit builds look more substantial than I expected, and I’ll definitely be buying this. The minifigures all look solid for the most part and I’m unsurprised to see that Luke doesn’t use another brand new hairpiece because that sounded unnecessary from the start. It’s awesome to finally get Nien too.

The Bad:

- No Enoch absolutely sucks, but the presence of the Night Trooper tells me a battle pack with him in it may not be completely impossible in the near future.

- Using the Old Luke hair mould for Ezra doesn’t work for me, the Mad-Eye Moody hairpiece in black would’ve been absolutely perfect.

- Not including Boba’s cape is an act of pure laziness, especially for a set this overpriced. I hope Lego gets called out on this by LAN.

- Why is Boba the only antagonistic character in the Desert Skiff and Sarlacc set? Surely including a Nikto / Weequay wouldn’t have broken the bank.

As a whole, not a bad summer wave. I was hoping for a bit more, although I feel this is because of how good the 2021-2023 summer waves were. The Dark Falcon, Peridea, and Skiff sets will be definite buys for me, and hopefully Jedi Bob’s Fighter is good too.

The Boba Fett looks atrocious. Thank god I’ve got the 2012 version to mod and use the cape from. The rest of the set looks great. Really love the design of the skiff.

Hopefully it isn’t too expensive to part out a second skiff. Might mod it, since it seems a bit small, but I don’t know how it compares to minifig scale.
