Bricksbypidy Posted August 27 Part of the Armed Forces of Corrington is the Highland Regiment of Foot. Every summer these Highlanders come to Wullham for the traditional games: The Highland Games. This event is held every year. Certain aspects of the games are so well known as to have become emblematic for the Highlanders, such as the bagpipes, the kilt, and the heavy events, especially the 'Caber Toss' and 'Weight over Bar'. While centered on competitions in piping and drumming, dancing, and heavy athletics, the games also include entertainment and exhibits related to other aspects of the Corrington Highlander cultures. During the Highland games, various groups of Highlanders compete against each other in various 'heavy events'. Some examples of 'events' are: 'Stone Put', 'Keg-tossing (Weight over Bar)', 'Caber Toss' and 'Tug of War'. This event, the so-called Black Watch, MacDonald and Wemyss will compete against each other. Every year there is a guest jury of 7 people. This consists of people who have been of great importance to Corrington in the previous year. This year this honor has been awarded to (from left to right): Jim Corbett, Padre Azúcar, Willem van Baarle, Baron Peter Nash, Alexandre Bras-de-Fer, Edmund Cooke and Bernard Claesen Speirdyke. --- Build will be licensed in Wullham by @Bricksbypidy. Khorne Posted August 27 Nice build! I love the overall action going on and the different games being portrayed. Great job on posing all of the figures and stuff. While the architecture is nicely done, it feels a bit too Elvish/Rivendell for my taste. But the quality and style of the structures is certainly commendable! NOD Posted August 27 Highland Games is a great idea. Very nice diorama and informative story. I like the pattern on the roof tiles. What I enjoy most is watching the athletes do the caber toss, weight over bar, and tug of war. The bagpipes and drummers are also interesting.
