TeriXeri Posted June 5 (edited) Even in those other sets they really highlight those geodes as being something that could light up, really interested to see how that works. And those printed tiles with the airplane or boat on it probably have some electronic / sensor type of functions as well. As far as normal LEGO sets, they also look interesting enough, the same explorer logo is used as previous Arctic / Sea / Jungle vehicles ,just in a different earth color, so it seems LEGO wants a consistent organization as explorers at least which is good, similarly to how they used the Space logo in multiple colors this year, and the Cargo ship uses the long time "classic" cargo logo as well (box with arrows around it) Edited June 5 by TeriXeri

I don't think those are meant to be literally lit up, but rather just a way to highlight a key feature for the interactive function. Overall these are a little underwhelming (less impressive than the current jungle exploration sets, and than previous "interactive" themes like Hidden Side), but I assume as a sort of a test run for the technology they might've gotten less budget for other features, hence the simpler set designs and repeated animals. I figure these will either lead to something more impressive down the line or fade into obscurity like some previous interactive ventures like Lego Fusion. PRbrickbuilder Posted June 5 These sets look so good, they are basically what most people were expecting in the current wave: larger terrain builds! This wave of sets explains the volcano Easter egg in one the maps. I hope it come to fruition (perhaps without the gimmick, for the sake of a cheaper price). 60692 is great, it is begging for Johnny Thunder to be a part of it! Lego Nostalgia Posted June 5 I am completely blown away by this June wave, I rarely buy City unless it's from 2006-2014 but this wave really stuck out to me and it's one of the best waves we've gotten in a long time, I hate all these electric cars and modern vehicles plus Firetrucks that look more childish unlike the ones from 2005,2010,2013 those were the best, we got actual fire hoses without stud shooters, whoever designed and made this wave deserves a raise. 8 hours ago, Roebuck said: These look way worse than what we got imo 19 hours ago, Lion King said: ….interacive….minifigures? Powered by Bricks Posted June 5 12 minutes ago, Lego Nostalgia said: These look way worse than what we got imo. I have to agree but not fully, the builds are great but the vehicles are meh. This test wave looks confusing, is it jungle, volcano? I'm not sure. I have to say the set I like most is the base, city explorers LACK a base, the base we got with 60437 was disappointing and quite small this one is a base at least not a mobile lab. And I like the volcano as it's fully circular and not a model of half a volcano. In conclusion I prefer these new one just because the amount of nature is bigger and better than the summer wave's boring caves. This summer wave nailed the vehicles but builds suffered. I'm impressed by the amount of care and detail they put into these June sets, it gives me nostalgic vibes of the first few years of the city theme. I just wish they could do the same with fire trucks and police cars, we've got a great fire plane, nice suv but a very lacking firetruck and a kiddish police car. TeriXeri Posted June 5 (edited) Hopefully sets like the current Alien Planet Habitat, and Space Lab will be popular, so they can sell terrain builds and standalone buildings for more City subthemes in future. And I do hope those 3 sets do release eventually, not to bash the gorilla set, but that croc cave set is much more interesting, 60426: Jungle Explorer Off-Road Truck has a decent sized terrain build , and 60425: Jungle Explorer Water Plane somewhat makes up for it with the extra croc and cheaper price, but that gorilla set is just too much focus on the helicopter (and probably a big chunk of the budget into the 2 full size gorillas as well). While terrain/trees can probably be easiest recreated with a decent collection, I still like it over vehicles most of the time. My favorite mix of animal City sets have been pretty much the sets at €10 and €30 and inbetween price points, usually if it goes over that, it's either really inflated due to some special animal (orca, white shark , mammoth in recent times), or some huge vehicles (ships, helicopters , arctic mobile bases etc) , but the 2020 underwater base was nice tho. And while City is on the box of the 2024 sets, the large grey "Space" logo is the overall theme focus in that case , once it's out of the box, theme doesn't really matter anymore for me, and that pretty much always has been the case for me, unless strictly wanting to rebuild something, then yes, of course it's easier to find a set instructions by looking at the set number/themes. a guy from somewhere Posted June 5 Anyone know if that Lego city space people pack got cancelled or delayed or anything? Was it the mini space lab set that we got in may? I thought we were gonna get a people pack like the previous space theme and outdoor one. As for the location of the new interactive explorer sets, I’m fairly sure they are volcano tropical island type of expedition. Likely pacific ring of fire if I had to guess. I also hope we get a base at some point but it also kind of defeats the point of the explorers I think. A mobile base or fabricated base, for example a bunch of containers put together to form a base would work well but would get expensive quickly I feel, plus you would need a second set or take a large chunk of budget out of the base set to have a vehicle to transport these pods. Still, the concept is half there in the new interactive base (toilet and all). Really hope we see more sets come out of this subtheme. If I had to guess, the explorers will get an updated look in 2025 that will be inline with these interactive sets, and maybe a new cast of explorers.

You are thinking of 60441 Space Explorers Pack; when the name leaked, we thought it might be a people pack, but it ended up just being a combo pack with the hoverbike polybag, construction mech, and interstellar spaceship. There is a poorly-captured video on Reddit of how the interactive jungle sets work: It looks like the ‘smart brick’ piece can be snapped into different places in the sets (over the teal tiles) to have location-specific effects (lights, sounds). I can live with this, but I would prefer to just get add-on packs with the ‘smart brick’ and some effects tiles (maybe even effects tile blind bags, like the old Nexo shield packs?), instead of the inevitable markup (and simplistic construction) that results from including the interactive parts in each set. 🫤 I also noticed that all of the Minifigs (including the seaplane pilot) have teal torsos and dark orange legs - I hope that this is just so that the ‘smart brick’ can read their unique torsos and play the relevant sounds, and not because the Minifigs themselves have sound chips and the torso and legs are fused together! Hope this link works, so yeah all of these sets will supposedly include a 2x4 hub piece that can be wirellessly charged according to LEGO themselves. The sets will feature 6 different interactive minifigures, which supposedly are new named characters for either the animated web series or something new.
