the Inventor Posted July 10 (edited) East of the Whispering Woods lies the kingdom of Kadan. One of the peculiarities are the towers. These "Towers of Kadan", are build by the many nobles and mages in the land, each trying to make it even higher and more magnificent than the others. One such tower was constructed by the mage known as Kalla, his tower 'Azlarmuth' was extra special, because during construction a special seed was planted within. During the years, this tree grew, and the tower had to be renovated at some points because the roots and branches would seek it's way to the outside. Azlarmuth - the tower of Kalla by Ids de Jong, on Flickr Photographing and editing of this was a lot of work, mainly because of the height of the tower and the backdrop I used which was almost too small. Yperio_Bricks Posted July 10 Wonderful! I love the colors. The blue and lavender and the earth tones work well together. I also love all the branches and roots that stick out of the tower.

Horation Posted July 25 Really like the colour scheme ; it's a nice change from everybody else's brown and grey builds. I must ask how you built those windows (I've got an idea of how you did it, but I'm not sure) and if there's anything at the back of the tower.
the Inventor Posted July 25 @Horation Thanks, by windows I suppose you mean the shields? Those are attached to a clip which is placed on a slope towards the inside of the tower. I made it from three sides, the left being the same as the right apart from the tree bits, the back is less finished/open because I ran out of the new nougat colour, and this makes it easier to fix the door, take the tower apart again. Horation Posted July 26 (edited) Nice to know for that, but I was actually thinking of the groups of 1x1 plates placed backwards in small formations on each side of the walls (I presume you used a 6x8 plate, put these parts on its back, and then connected it using some unusual geometry) Edited July 26 by Horation small typo
the Inventor Posted July 26 @Horation those are indeed connected to a 6x8 plate, who are connected to an inner column using part 3633 Fence 1 x 4 x 1 Lattice (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3633) which are connected to a plate. The inner column is connected to the tower, although it isn't needed, because each 6x8 plate is clamped between the hollow space of the tower on each side, so it will hold itself together.
