[MOC] Alstom Pendolino ETR600 (Renfe S114) high-speed train

Hi everyone!

This is my recreation of the Alstom Pendolino ETR600. It's the evolution of the Italian version made by Fiat. The one operated by Renfe is partly made by the Spanish manufacturer CAF too, just like the older version. These trains have four coaches and are designed to have a maximum operational speed of 250 km/h, making "avant" (long distance semi high speed) services in Spain. As many might be aware, the train also operates in Italy, Switzerland and Poland for their respective national operators, with some variations such as the number of coaches. 

 

 

As of the MOC, it's a 7 studs wide model. The nose has some pretty interesting techniques with hinges and brackets, since its structure is made of 6 studs in order to fit well in the roof (as the train has inclined sides). Then, with the help of many hinges the transition is pretty smooth. Also in the nosetip, the help of curved slopes managed to give it its characteristic shape. Note that for the side cockpit windows I had to use custom stickers since there wasn't a way to make it work sadly. I think the doors might have turned too wide, but haven't found a way to make them nicely (since two studs seem too small). Let me know how to improve that!

Yet another amazing model! I’m loving all the angles and tilted planes, they’re subtle yet they elevate the whole thing to another level altogether. And the nose just kills me, it’s soo good!

Great posing by the way ;) Renders at eye level and gorgeous curves make trains look even better.
