[MOC] #6175 Crystal Explorer Sub redesign

Recommended Posts

My modern rebuild of #6175 Crystal Explorer Sub from the Aquazone theme.

A beefed up version compared to the original.
The inner space of the cockpit is so big, that I had space to fit 3 seats, and a hatch to acces the ocean through the middle section of the model. The storage are bigger, the arms longer. I also added lights!
The rear cockpit opens to store a folded <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/bobdequatre/52787619005">Underwater Scooter</a>

Built for This month challenge on Brickpirate.net, for which we have to rebuild sets from either Aquazone, Rock Raiders or Island Xtreme Stunts

Wow! Wonderful! I love the yellow watch belt (I think) used to keep the lower canopy on.

Finally a beautiful and fitting  usage of that trans purple windscreen! Such a spacious cockpit with high playability = big thumbs up! I also agree with Kevin8 you found a perfect integration of those rubbery belts. Aquanauts hasn't looked this refreshing in years :).

Wow! Great redesign. I'd never considered that trans-purple windscreens like this could substitute for the classic trans-blue, but based on these photos it definitely seems to work.

Very nice details here as well, I love the interior hatch in the cockpit!

Outstanding reimaging of the design. Amazing what modern parts can allow for.
