Here is a small scene I made.

This is a nicely edited scene! You've got a roll to the ocean and some depth of field happening. :pir-thumb:

But what happens next? Are there anymore photos?  Or is this it?

Of course people are interested!  It's interesting to see how the build evolves from start to finish.

Well, I wanted to build a scene around this boat

This was my starting point :

i1MMsZp.jpg

you can also see the net technique for water.

I wanted a minifigscale, a midi scale on the left and a micro scale on the horizon.

I did some test shots without proper lighting just to see if the forced perspective worked like I wanted to. It is really relying on it.

And this is the whole thing from above without proper angle. losing its magic pretty fast :p

Thank you for sharing your inspiration and process which lead to the final result! :pir-huzzah2:

But two questions remain:

  1. What kind of camera did you use to achieve that glorious depth of field?
  2. Which software did you use to edit the background and apply the finishing touches?

Very beautiful! :pir-huzzah1:The rowing boat is very well built and the waves in the water look fantastic. Thanks for the additional photos.

I am using a Canon M50 with a 15-45mm f/3.5-6.3 lens

I edit my photos with photoshop.

First, this epic MOC shows that small is sometimes better! Relly great scene especially with the net technique for the waves.
Second, the forced Perspektive is just perfect. Imagine, how all the MOCs in this forum would look with such a great background, ocean around an even some islands or harbour in the back. Unfortunately this is close to impossible due to the sizes. I even have problems to get a white background for a foto of a big ship…

really great build, probably we get one with a small sailboat and the same perspective?

Looks stunning. What part did you use to connect the sides to the bottom of the boat at that angle?

I had the same thoughts as Mister Phes: I really think the depth of field is the secret star here. Masterfully executed! :pir-thumb:
