[MOC] Olton Hall 8-wide (Updated w/ coach)

Wow what a wonderful train!
I like the rounded shapes of the steam locomotive, especially the boiler and the front end!
Great attention to detail and magnificent dark red livery!

Awesome build! By the far the best looking Hogwarts Express I’ve seen. Do you have the IO files available for download?

Thank you very much!

Not as of right now. There are a few tweaks I need to do on the digital model before I feel it’s ready.

The bricklink orders have been coming in and the train is close to complete! A few pieces to still be added but 97% complete! Very happy with how it turned out and love the proportions 8-wide gives!

Looks awesome! Love the 8-wide width, and the proportions are great. Would love to offer money for the IO file if you’re willing to offer to share!

Thank you! I intend to make some adjustments to the IO model before letting it out there. As there are currently a slight misplacement in the tender leaving 2 brackets under stress. Its solved in the physical model you see here but I still haven't updated the digital one. I also discovered that the tolerances were to tight for it to go around standard Lego curves so I'm also working a solution for that.

Hey @-DoNe- have you finished the IO model by chance? I’m very interested in building this. I’d be interested in the model even if it has errors or problems.

Really nice build!

Only one point: it seems you use the Standard L #9 train wheels from Lego.
I would prefer the XL #11 wheels for the loco and M #7 (or similar size) wheels for the tender. I think the Mould King Version used that wheel sizes too.

Hello. I've sadly not had the time to fix it, its been quite bussy. I can upload the file to Bricklink studio, so you can access it. As I believe the file is to large for email.

Thank you! I have XL- and M drivers at home, but for this build I wanted to keep it 100% Lego. On my latest build I utilize BlueBrixx XL-drivers for the locomotive (I have a thread with it here on Eurobricks: DB BR01).

I have recently started 8-wide locomotive and carriage designs and the extra room means interiors are so much better. I have also tried to build removable roof and wall sections making it easier for the Grandkids to play with the trains - minifigs in and out all the time!

You can check out some of my work at ReBrickable.com - look for TrainsWithLights

@-DoNe- I found it but it doesn't look like the studio file is available on Bricklink, could you check that? Or do you have a Google drive link that you could use to share it?

Just checked and it still says "Pending access approval". I thought that would be done by now. If it hasn't updated today we'll figure something else out!

@-DoNe- still says for display only, strange, do you have a file sharing website that you can use?

I just got a mail from Bricklink that the design have been denied due to copyright infringement. Which doesn't make that much sense to me given that there are literally models called "Hogwarts Express" on Bricklink studio that are using printed parts saying Hogwarts Express. So don't know whats up with that.

Don't really have any good sharing site, do you have any ideas?

Bricksafe is a common LEGO file sharing site, run by the people who run Rebrickable.
