Would like it to be modular like the el dorado fortress? Or just have an open layout similar to the original one?

Depends , of course for the buildings,  hinged can work just fine, but if it includes something like a parts of a wall, perhaps could be a bit more like 80s sets.

Like Guarded Inn could connect with something as small as Armor Shop  / Blacksmith shop as they had seperate little wall sections.

Of course I don't expect a full wall around a village here, I'd rather see another building instead of a plain wall, but a wall section could still be part of some fortified building, which perhaps opens to form a wider defense (even Lion Knights Castle splits in 2 and then each can hinge open) .

Eldorado is more like a Puzzle layout since clips work a bit different, but the same principle of open back / cave in wide configuration, Eldorado did put a lot of extra pieces in the backside to look nice however, as it's fairly thick rockwork (some parts even feel heavy) and not something as flat as a wall.

I am not sure "spamming" in this thread every day because one person claimed it would be released then makes that much sense honestly. ;)  Aside from that. Who was it, and how credible is he?

I see your point, but we have to do something while we wait  I checked it and he is a YouTuber with over 20K subscribers, said he got the info of a big leaker contact of his so I do not think he is lying (however things might change as they do in the leaker-business)
So 10 days!

It is definitely happening , March the 3rd the very latest

Though I have to say my exitement for the Lion Knights castle was way greater than it is for the Town Square - likely because of the prelims.

What do you mean? Since you have seen the prelim you know roughly what is coming or you are not so impressed with what you have seen? Personally I am more hyped this time, I was not so impressed with the parts we saw from the castle in that video, this look fantastic so far :wub_drool:

Ha, true.

But we can also speculate about factions, colors, and animals endlessly!  For example, there were a surprising number of owls in the survey leak (like more than I've ever seen in my life in the wild).  Harry Potter has an owlery set releasing at the same time (already on the Lego site).  Will they reuse some of the new recolors from the HP set?  Is there a new owl-based faction?  Will the CMF Falconer and an MTS minifig with pet owl have a bird of prey battle?

With a leak of gorgeous Creator Fox, I want a fox in the set now.  My Medieval Blacksmith dog needs a job protecting chickens and sheep!

I expect a Smowl to be included, despite not appearing in the prelim.

While I doubt that the MTS will include a fox, I can see us getting one in the coming years via a $10 City quad-bike-and-animals set.

Wouldn´t that big leaker contact rather post that info himself? Also, everyone can just claim to have a big, unnamed leaker contact. So far sounds fishy to me, although with the release date known a reveal around that time seems likely - but we will see if it will be that exact day.

Well yeah we kinda already know how it looks like, even if the quality was very bad and for sure there will be a lot neat details to discover in the set. But the biggest existement I have is for the minifigure, not the set itself.

With the Lion Knights Castle we had a rough scetch of how it would look like from Promobricks, which already looked great and raised the anticipation for actual Pics. But maybe it is also the time span we already have those pics around in the Town Squares place, I mean it is almost a year now that those prelims have been around.

Ah, we're getting leaks for some of the bigger sets releasing on March, including pics of Snow White dwarves, Speed Champions, and the higher end Dragonstone temple.  Nothing on MTS :(. But I assume Snow White will be Lego exclusive like MTS, and if we're getting leaks, maybe MTS will get some too??? *hopes*

True, When you said modular Mill Village raid came to mind, it was great that everything opened up like a book and was followed closely by the recent lions castle. I love it. I honestly don't know what to expect from this but I'll love it either way!

Leakers don't want to get caught, hence why they rather use someone else to spill the beans, more than likely they signed an NDA either way. They don't want it to be traced back to them. The Lion castle was also leaked through the back to the future video where we actually saw an earlier version of it that ended up being accurate TBH

I'll be honest, the shorter the timespan between the set being shown and the set being released....the less enthused I am about a set.

I think hype is important. And there's really no reason to *not* show off this set by now.

As an adult, I like to plan out how I spend my money, not impulsively buy something because it was a last minute novelty. Assuming my enthusiasm is going to guarantee a purchase is the wrong mindset. If anything, letting me mull it over several weeks through the images usually encourages purchase.

I get that buying sets on impulse isn't great, but to be fair, the sets are available for at least a year, often far more. Couldn't that mulling be done for several months after release? No criticism, just wondering. I very rarely but things on release day, unless the is a specific incentive to do so that outweighs what might come later.

It's true that the sets are going to be out long afterward, but not being a "Day 1" buy for me comes down to waiting too long. It's similar to movies...you want to see a movie when it first comes out, you don't want to have to wait if you don't have to. But without the trailer to sell you on the movie, then it's less interesting.

Also, I don't buy on Day 1 either, but the sooner I see the product the sooner I prepare for it. Once the release date comes, I typically don't reconsider what my decision is at that point. Call it being too rigid, but I allocate money very carefully and if I'm not sold by the time I can actually buy it, I'm probably not going to spend much more time reconsidering.

That's a fair analogy, thanks. In which case, let's hope there is a reveal soon.

My guess as I have said before is one owl and one falcon, can not believe the set will have 3 owls. It makes no sense unless there is a falconer in the set maybe, probably stand ins for other animals I hope :classic:

I am sure the leakers know more they say for a number of reasons. In addition I can not remember any leaker leak when a set is planed officially revealed by Lego, it is not a very useful leak to them. However do they get their hands on pictures 2 days before that date they can leak it and get the clicks..
My guess is that the set was shown of on fan media days last year. The RLFM groups present have no interest in leaking it and signed a NDA, but they probably know when the set is revealed by Lego, when they can publish their review and when the set is for sale.
So we will see if this is right in 9 days

I for one am really tired of waiting for real photos. The wait is easier when we know exactly what we're getting. If Feb 7 is the day, I guess that's fine, but sooner is better. C'mon leakers, get to it!

Personally I would rather wait 8 days(!) and get the real stuff, than 7 days and some bad quality picture leak. After all we got the potato camera picture almost a year ago now?
However I agree that I really looking forward to get the pictures now so we know what we are getting and not just hoping, fearing, expecting etc what the set will look like in the end :excited:

That first leaked photo was both potato quality and preliminary. A slightly less potato-ish pic of the real deal would suit me just fine while we wait for official photos.

What I want to see leak is the final Minifig/animal lineup, so that we can have realistic expectations going into the official reveal.

That's about all I would want at this point as well - one final guessing game figuring out what the composition of 15 animals, 12 peasants, and two knights would be (or whatever the actual numbers are). I'm fine to wait one more week to get a full reveal (especially if we get a teaser next Monday or Tuesday), but one final round of guessing would be fun!

(Though, can we all agree now to not have a complete meltdown about any minifig's printing, like is going on with Fives in the Star Wars thread? Thanks!)

Potato quality may make factions hard to discern.  Animals should be easy with the same quality as the survey leak photo.

I'm on the fence with bad photos - the sets always look better in real life and on the box.  The bad photos tend to frustrate people and then these threads become depressing rather than fun.

One thing we can speculate is that there could be a tapestry for the tapestry weaver.  Likely a sticker?  Would it replicate a Lego battle or be motifs?  I'd like it to be double-sided so you could have multiple designs on display.  Or maybe one shows a faction winning and the other side, the other faction wins!

I am not sure that is likely, since the variety of Minifig torsos in the set is a higher priority than the detail of the printing. What I want an agreement for is no complaining when one of the guards ends up being female!

Prelim: 12 Minifigs (two are guards), 19 animals (Horse, cow, calf, goat (2x), sheep (2x), cat, kitten, squirrel (2x), bird (4x), owl (3x), chicken).

Guesses:

Minifigs: Shieldsmith, innkeeper, cheesemaker, weaver, crook, tax collector, guards (2x); the other four are assorted farmers, vendors, and tavern patrons (and maybe an entertainer of some kind, per the prelim). Also, at least one Minifig is a child, and we get our standard 50/50 gender split.
I expect the male and female peasant torsos from the LKC, along with the torso and legs from the CMF goatherd, to be reused; guards are either axe Lions or Black Knights, and the crook is either Forestmen or Wolfpack. I can also see the tax collector including a reference to another faction (maybe Royal Knights?) in the form of something like a brooch on their tunic.

Shields: The shieldsmith will have reuses of the Falcon and Lion shields, as well as Black Knights, and maybe the remaining Classic Castle shields (no cross, obviously!). We might also get Royal Knights (especially if the tax collector has a reference to them), along with oval shields for our existing factions. No Dragon Masters shield, though maybe Fright Knights simply because the part is already in production.

Animals: Horse (new colour, possibly reused from HP), cow, calf, sheep (2x), goat (CMF reuse) (2x), cat, kitten, rat, bird (1-2), squirrel (1-2), owl (1-2), Smowl, chicken (2x), dog, frog.

Not really; Falcons and Lions (and Forestmen and Wolfpack) are different enough to tell apart, and torso detailing (crossed axe crest, chainmail, etc) can be determined by the print colour.

I forgot about that!

I think that a tapestry could be brickbuilt using 2x2 rounded plates, 1x1 rounds with holes through, and bars for support. I doubt that there will be any stickers, since the only throwback sets to use them have been GWPs (as the number of patterned elements exceeded the sets’ budgets).

The minifig and factions are definitely the biggest thing I'm looking for news on.  The mystery of what knights/guards/faction will be represented is the biggest piece of info I want clarified.  Otherwise, I think we already have plenty of info on this set from the various rumors and leaks, like the cheese stall or the shield vendor or an Inn being present.

Also, I don't remember there being any Chickens in this set?  Not even mentioned in rumors?

Look on the left side of the prelim. To the right of the tree, but to the left of the woodpile, directly in front of the house with the dark brown roof (right of the Minifig with the pitchfork and yellow arms).
