MILS bridge to get to center of display

Rather than reinventing the wheel or embarking on a lot of trial and error from scratch - has anyone published their own findings or tips on how to create a break in a train display to enter the center of the display, rather than having to club under tables?

Monty Smith (aka Monty’s Trains) in the USA has a particular impressive opening one which you may be interested in - the LGMS Facebook group is probably the place to find him, or Instagram.  I’m in the UK but follow him - contacting him via Instagram or Facebook messenger shouldn’t be difficult.

I think it's best to have a layout with a longer perimeter and a smaller area -- something that snakes back and forth. This gives you more train running length, and more visual space for scenery without having to fill all the gaps. It's also easier to reach across the layout to fiddle with it. Unfortunately event organizers often offer up a plain rectangle of space...
