Justus Posted December 31, 2022 Ahoy! On a base of 16 x 42 studs, the LEGO pirates return - and so do their arch-enemies, the Imperial soldiers. I built this homage to the LEGO classic for Rogue Bricks' annual challenge.

And what a glorious looking return it is! Although, there don't appear to be any Imperial soldiers present at this moment.
Third Navigator Posted January 1 your pirate island is cool. you used less pieces and made more qualities. the little island seems to have a lot of stories, so I love this.
Justus Posted January 2 Thanks, @Jack Sassy! @Mister Phes: Well, the guy with the tricorne hat is supposed to represent an Imperial... the torsos of the old Imperial soldiers (973pb0527c01) from Pirates II somehow looked too old-fashioned to me and wouldn't have fit into the colour scheme of the MOC either. @Third Navigator: "Less pieces and more qualities" is always very important to me. My parts stock is still quite limited, so I have to try to impress people with small but detailed models...

Ummmm... the Imperials don't need to colour coordinate with the Pirates. Just so you know! Blue coat soldiers very much colour coordinate with white masonry architecture with yellow highlights and have done so since 1989.
Jack Sassy Posted January 2 Congratulations, @Justus, yer MOC has been frontpaged!

zinnn Posted January 3 Great little set, looks neat and busy at the same time, and so much fun. Question: how are those yellow tiles attached?
Justus Posted January 3 @zinnn: Thanks! The yellow "collumns" are 1x1 clips (BL 15712), "clicked" into each other... definitely illegal
Redhead1982 Posted January 4 Lovely. I like the clean look and contrasting sides with hallmarks of both opponents. Well built.
