What a crazy coincidence lol

I wonder if they made a MOC for WWW shop?

So if part of the DA expansion is for WWW and that is right next to the entrance to Knockturn Alley ...

I’ll buy a DA shop expansion if it’s of shops we have not yet and can connect to DA. Bummer no Durmstrang Ship.

OMG if this is all true, this wave sounds a mess...

Please tell me we'll get a Pygmy Puff and a proper Lavender Brown in either of these sets, though.

Gringotts was my most wanted set!!

Everything else is a nice bonus for me but this wave does have problems.

Very happy with the idea of a new HE, I found the 2018 one quite lacking. All depends on the final look though.

It would be nice to get the other Trolley Witch, and maybe some more of the driver/fireman figures as featured in the 2022 massive express.

Has it been confirmed what DA shop(s) are included?

Well if the rumours of another Express are true, nearly two months ago @BrickMatit asked ...

Imagining Harry Potter as an evergreen theme, which are the 3 (or similar number) sets and 10 (or similar number) minifigures LEGO should always have on shelves (in any variant), affordable for the larger community of LEGO and Harry Potter fan (so in a range from 0 to 100/150)?

My personal list of sets is
- The Great Hall
- Hagrid's Hut
- The Burrow

My personal list of minifigures is
- Harry
- Ron
- Hermione
- Hagrid
- Dumbledore
- Draco
- Snape
- Ginny
- Neville
- Luna
- Voldemort (or Raptor/Tom Riddle)
- Cedric

I thought about these lists supposing to be a new entry Harry Potter theme buyer and, of course, they're strongly influenced by what I think is important in Harry Potter (and thought when I was a kid).

The two list are not related, so LEGO shouldn't have to to put Cedric in Hagrid's Hut or Voldemort at The Burrow

I think a few more sets in rotation is a more fitting / probable model, but either way the question stands, which subjects / locations / characters do you think seem likely for permanent shortlisting?

I know we don‘t have any details yet, but with this line-up, this year‘s output will very likely rank pretty low for me, currently barely above 2021. And that‘s only thanks to Gringotts. Major step down from last year for sure :sceptic:

Just saw that the March Harry Potter sets are out in Australia at Kmart (including the dots sets), except for the Room of Requirement. Perhaps it's an exclusive here?

They are? I don't see them online yet though?

Weird that that wave seemed to be LEGO/Certified Store exclusive here for the first month but I'm glad they're finally coming to general retail.

Almost right

DA Shop expansion $90

????? with a Hogsmeade Expansion side build $130

Side Note: How many people here bought the Hogwarts Express D2C set?

Hogsmeade Station? :o

Also I do have the UCS Hogwarts Express.

Did you not want a Hogsmeade platform? I could be getting you mixed up with someone else it's been so long now.

That might've been me. I talked about wanting/hoping for a Hogsmeade station when the UCS one wasn't revealed yet.

Some DA stores did feel small and could use some Expansion.

So it could be:

A an expansion shop to the DA D2C we have and the bank D2C fit in with them or

B the bank D2C do not fit the DA D2C so this is a set that goes with the bank in a new series?

I don't have the UCS HE, and that won't change. No space nor budget for it. I'm grateful they release the mega sets staggered, so people more interested in just the system scale sets, say, have some time to save up for the next one.

I certainly hoped they'd include the Hogsmeade station instead of 9 3/4 again when they got around to another HE, and thought that was likely, but I don't know if I'll spring for another Express any time soon. If someone puts just the station on ebay at a fair price, I might pick it up, though, especially if it isn't the version I'd already MOCced together.

I thought Promobricks said Gringotts was going to be DA D2C compatible? Which doesn't mean they couldn't be wrong, of course.

This is what I was also curious about. Seems odd they’re building an expansion onto an existing set from a D2C from 3 years ago? I mean, I’ll be pleased if they do, but it gets me wondering if it’s a re-boot / different scale. Which makes me think Gringotts bank might be in scale with this new one instead of DA.

I very much doubt that they’ll be releasing any ‘expansions’ to the D2C DA. The builds are always evolving and I can’t see them adding anything to what is clearly a stand-alone set. Also, Lego will be quite aware that only limited number of people will have bought a €500 set, so bringing out an expansion to that would probably reduce the attraction for customers who don’t have DA.

I’d personally not be surprised if both the Gringotts and this DA expansion were part of a new style/series. It would make business sense for Lego to release individual DA location sets that are affordable to more people, and then expand that concept over time (basically following the same logic as the hogwarts expansion sets)

They already do that for the Marvel modulars, the regular Modulars, Ninjago City modulars, and indeed Hogwarts. So I don't think it would be unusual if LEGO just made another shop for DA as a standalone set that at the same time could be considered an expansion of DA like the aforementioned modulars.

Additionally there was quite a gap between Ninjago City & Ninjago City Docks on one hand and Ninjago City Gardens on the other. Docks and City both had retired for a while before Gardens was released. So another DA shop releasing while DA itself is still available is better.

If DA becomes effectively obsolete with this new set and Gringotts is compatible with this new build and not DA I will be very sad. A lot of people have invested in DA now and I think it would at least be an acknowledgment of that to wait until that one is off shelves before they release another iteration of it. Our set guesses, Durmstrang Ship, Lovegood House etc show that they are not yet out of new material and therefore bound to be rereleasing everything. Having seen a recent marketing video for the Warner Bros Studio Tour, it seems like they now have a build of The Burrow in the back lot which would explain why Lego might be going to a D2C of that quicker than we might have expected, but in general rereleasing sets that have only just been, or indeed are still on, shelves for no better words takes the magic away from the sets they 'replace'.

I will not pass overall judgment on the new set until I see it, but I really hope it is compatible with and expands DA rather than diminishes it by effectively redoing parts of it.

I don’t know if this set is an add on to DA shop or a stand alone play set.

Either way I’m sure you can expand the DA D2C with elements from this set like minifigs, products and etc.

76422 is just labeled as Diagon Alley: ( shop name here)

Sorry for the riddles and vague hints. :(

Unless of course you are drawing your info from a crystal ball and it is all essentially hocus pocus, then any info is appreciated. :classic: From your hints I'm guessing it's Diagon Alley: Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes.

Definitely only the WWW and Ollivanders could stand alone as a set - Ollivanders could be a bit bigger or have exploding functions at this new price point

Or maybe borgin and burkes and it’s a remake of that small da sidebuild

I humbly admit that your hints, at least for me, were clear enough .

Imho I would imagine a stand alone play set that one can use (minifigures, objects, stickers, pieces) to modify his own shop. I mean, it's true LEGO takes sometimes strange decision, but I don't see them producing a Diagon Alley shop with no facade. So, in the end, what we will see it's probably a smaller remake of the 2020 shop, with some further minifigures. And If I've understood your hints about the shop (Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes), characthers will surely be Fred and George plus probably HPB Harry, Ron and Hermione and, maybe Lavender and Cormac; frankly not sure about Ginny.

And about the Hogwarts Express remake, as a building I'd prefer the PS Hogsmeade Station.

Shucks. The naming convention of Diagon Alley: “shop name”, definitely gives the impression they’re “soft re-launching” DA like they did Hogwarts. That’s really annoying because I just invested in DA, and it’s a really beautiful set. Definitely makes me think Gringotts scale is going to be fitted for the new relaunch.

On the bright side, this perhaps opens up the door for new DA builds we don’t have yet down the road.

I'd be extremely surprised if this new DA set directly works with the D2C DA because LEGO just doesn't put the vacuum formed baseplates in regular sets any more. So, even if it's a new shop that hasn't been done, it'd be on a full plate thickness and have to be put on a baseplate from one's own collection to work with the older DA.

Wow what a let down if Gringott’s is not only not somewhat compatible with the 2020 version and it’s compatible a new line of DA Shops that have already existed. Bummer dude. I don’t even know if I’ll buy Gringotts if that’s the case and it was the only set I was planning on buying.

Same. Hopefully it's at least easily adaptable to the old scale, but with all of the quick remakes, they're starting to lose me on the Potter front.
