Crazy how fast this topic moved on from Avenger's Tower as soon as it was officially leaked.

X-Men reign supreme. 😝

Just a thought, but if Feige can appear in Avengers Tower without existing in universe, don't see why Deadpool couldn't make it in the set even if he's not involved in 97. Just simply a bonus figure

There’s not even any reason to assume the X-Mansion is just going to exclusively focus on X-Men ‘97. None of the other modular buildings have focused on just one film or series, but several.

Also, on the subject of Deadpool 3 being PG-13 or R, I don’t think it makes much difference. The character still has a reputation for mature content and I wouldn’t be surprised if Lego is wary of making sets with him regardless. Admittedly, it does sound like Falcon has hinted that we’re getting Deadpool 3 sets, but I would still find that surprising even if the film was rated Y-7

Deadpool as a bonus figure would draw more attention to him, though; just integrating him into the lineup like Daredevil, Punisher, and Blade were in the Bugle seems more likely.

True, but what else would it be based on? The ‘97 designs are taken directly from the comics, and none of the movies have particularly good designs (especially in LEGO form!).

I'm still torn on whether I want to buy Avenger's Tower... it shouldn't be a hard decision, but right now I'm leaning NO :pir-murder:

Not sure I want to buy a set that looks significantly worse than the Bugle and also manages to be a downgrade compared to the Sanctum. The Sanctum also had a minifig quality and selection problem but the design of the house more than made up for those flaws. Avenger's Tower has a major minifig problem and the tower's design itself is quite boring.

For sure, but there's no evidence it'll be '97 branded.

Given the long history of the X-men, and the fact that like spidey, there's no single popular source like there is for the Avengers, where 99% of people know them mainly from the MCU, I could easily see it just being generally X-men based like the Bugle, with characters in comic designs, '97 designs, maybe even a movie design or two.

Totally agree. For how much more expensive it is than the bugle, it should have an excellent interior, but it doesn't. Not to mention the significant missing figures with characters who were never at the tower thrown in instead.

You’re right in that we’re probably not gonna see the movie versions of these character. The designs have never been popular or memorable. However, I was talking more about the figure lineup. I would except them to include some characters in the mansion that aren’t really featured in the show but are popular due to the comics, other cartoons, and the movies. Colossus and Deadpool being two such examples. They’re barely featured in ’97, but are pretty recognizable thanks to the Deadpool films. I believe someone said the designer who was likely in charge is an X-Men fan, so we could see some fan favorites like Kitty Pryde, Magik, Psylocke, etc.

Essentially, I don’t think we can rule out characters just because they aren’t in ‘97. The roster could take inspiration from other media too.

This, but with instead of movie designs, we get comic versions of characters well known from the movies, such as Colossus, Scarlet Witch, and Quicksilver.

all x-men merchandise from last year is 97, I don't think the mansion will be generic.... Sanctum spans two films, Bugle is generic and Tower celebrates the mcu. In all three cases the minifigures are themed.

We’ve gotten a buildable Wolverine, a buildable Wolverine hand, and three minifigures (that weren’t even explicitly labeled as X-Men ‘97). That’s not much of a pattern.

Also, this is a potentially $300+ set. It’s likely going to be aimed at an older audience, ie, one that knows the X-Men for more than just a Disney+ cartoon and can be marketed as such.

Lego doesn't touch x-men for 10 years, a new series arrives on disney plus, highly anticipated, highly publicized, and you think they make a very expensive set without taking advantage of that brand? In my opinion it is very unlikely... Also in your list you forgot that the CMF are marked MARVEL STUDIOS (which narrows the field) and above all the X-jet from January, still 97. However we hope to receive more information soon...

As for the Tower, after the reveal there isn't much to add... I personally followed the reviews but in truth they add very little to what we have seen. I look forward to buying it, definitely two copies!

It's always more exciting for me to discuss future releases

ah ps. the results of The Marvels unequivocally clarify the public's feelings towards the franchise.

I don't know how much hype there is for this in the general public. At the end of the day it's an animated series, and not one for adults like *title card*

I wouldn't be surprised if we got movie-inspired quicksilver or something, though they wouldn't say "from the movie" but I agree the majority of figs will be comic based.

Obviously they’re taking advantage of X-Men ‘97’s release by making an X-Men mansion at the time of the shows debut. What I’m saying is they don’t have to restrict themselves to JUST making an X-Men ‘97 mansion. They can capitalize on all the past X-Men media instead of just limiting themselves to one show. Even if it’s just by throwing in popular X-Men characters who weren’t featured prominently or at all in the show but are still popular thanks to comics, movies, and other cartoons. Which makes sense for a set marketed at an 18+ crowd (because they will actually remember things like X-Men Evolution and the Fox films) but not for sets marketed at children. And we are talking about the X-Mansion here. This is like the Avenger’s Tower of the X-Men, and IMO it’d be a wasted opportunity if Lego just stuck to one cartoon for inspiration.

As for the jet, we still haven’t seen the box or even whether or not Magneto is based on the show.

I could see them taking inspiration from the movies for the interior design.

There was once a while back when someone said we wouldn’t get sets that he suggested not to be so sure. And then a couple days back he said we would be getting movie based sets for a new movie released next year without specifying what.

So nothing remotely confirmed, just speculation. You can put away the silverware… for now. 😜

Not many options for this, and notice that it's movieS, not just a movie. Course, this doesn't confirm deadpool on it's own. The other movie options aren't obvious lego tie-ins like a new star wars or other new marvel/dc, but more likely than something R-rated. However, on July 10, in response to:

By complete coincidence I was thinking about the possibility of Deadpool sets earlier today. I definitely get why Lego might be hesitant to do it, but I think a lot of people are underestimating how tempting it must be from a financial perspective. Especially if the movie is only PG-13, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we see something even if it's only an 18+ set. I'm not sure if there's any hard data out there, but just anecdotally speaking I'd guess Deadpool is probably one of the most popular Marvel characters based on how much merch I see of him, and I have no doubt Lego would love to get a piece of that pie.

The Wolvie buidables were both marketed with 97 on the box, and the CMF page does say "X-Men 97 Adventures" under the picture of Storm and Beast

https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/lego-minifigures-marvel-series-2-71039

Alsooo technically the audience who watched X-Men TAS in 1992 are now an "older audience". End of the day though, it doesn't really matter what they're branded under, the animated characters look just like they do in the comics (probable exception of Sunspot's 97 costume), so everyone's winning... except fans of the bland black latex movie suits

It’s Lego. It’s not too great to swallow any of it! There’s LITERALLY a choking hazard on the box! 🤣

Head would be the easier part. Legs and torso I would disassemble and swallow piece by piece. Probably best to crush the hip joints and the hands to remove any sharp or pointed edges.

They can still change it. Like I said, they need a box office win, and if they tone down the blood and sex jokes just a little- like to GOTG3 levels, that translates into hundreds of millions. PG-13 rated movies make a LOT more than R rated ones, and while that trend's been abating a little recently, it's not done yet.

Your only hope here is your clause about it having to be tie-ins to deadpool 3, not suicide squad type "character shows up in their comic costume". I still think it's pretty plausible lego slots deadpool in the mansion set in his comic outfit, even if the movie stays rated R.

Now, what if he's in the X-mansion as opposed to a tie-in set, but in the deadpool 3 costume? Would you eat the minifig? (My personal suggestion, as someone who accidentally ate a 2654 as an 8 year old, would be to eat the head, wait a few days, then grind up the torso and consume it, wait a few days, then the legs. Dunno how good of an idea it is to eat all three in the same day, and the torso and legs could both cut up or clog your digestive tract)

IMO, including characters who have appeared in the MCU like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver would be a waste of Minifig slots; I would much prefer that we get characters who have not appeared in LEGO form yet and that are unlikely to show up in other sets. Scarlet Witch already has gotten a few sets, and Quicksilver is an easy addition to an AoU set.

Ah, OK - Good call on Psylocke; she would be an excellent addition, she has a ‘97/Jim Lee design, and we have a transparent pink katana piece thanks to MABS and Ninjago Crystalized!
My guesses for the Mansion, in light of the known characters in the X-Jet and number of Minifigs in Avengers Tower:
Professor X (reused pieces), Cyclops (reuse), Wolverine (reuse), Beast (lab coat, reused CMF head and hair), Storm (CMF reuse, but with long hair), Jean, Gambit, Jubilee, Colossus (Na’vi torso and legs), Psylocke (maybe), Kitty Pryde (maybe), Bishop (maybe), Magneto (reuse), Mystique, Sabertooth, Deadpool. A Juggernaut bigfig would be great, but I am not counting on it; also, I am expecting Rogue to stay exclusive to the X-Jet in order to provide incentive to buy it.
This would be 16-17 characters at most (between the Sanctum and the Tower, which is where I expect the set to fall), with six being partial or complete reuses.

I'm 50/50 on Rogue. I understand that keeping her exclusive would provide incentive for the X-Jet but I can also see having the complete TAS team available under a single set being a draw in itself. It really depends on how far into the year the X-Mansion releases and whether enough time has passed that having her in another set won't really matter.

For the new minifigures my guesses are:

  • Professor X, Mystique, Sabretooth and Emma Frost as they were present in the preliminary image
  • Jean Grey, Gambit and Jubilee to complete the original TAS team
  • Beast in the lab coat
  • Bishop as he's been a huge part of other X-Men 97 merchandise
  • Maybe Deadpool (to circumvent the 18+ rating) and Mr. Sinister (main villain of the new show)

I suspect many of 97's new recruits (Nightcrawler, Archangel, Sunspot, Forge, Morph and Cable) and legacy X-Men (Colossus, Iceman, Psylocke and Kitty) will be released gradually over the coming years like Spider-Man's supporting cast was. I don't think we'll see big figs of Juggernaut and Apocalypse either until 2025 at the earliest.

They won‘t throw a movie minifig into a comic-/cartoon-based set, but if they did, it would count  Still no way this is happening unless they changed the rating a while ago. As @THELEGOBATMAN pointed out, this is a line they won‘t cross, and neither should they IMO. Not just because I don‘t wanna buy a Skullpoopl cosplay :laugh_hard:

FalconFan1414's was solely confirming that we would get movie tie-in sets for films released in 2024, he was not confirming or denying any Marvel movie tie-in sets in 2024.

Now personally, I'd lean to it being a movie tie-in set for Despicable Me 4 releasing in July given we had tie-in sets for The Rise of Gru and I could easily see them repurpose the Lego Robotnik figures body into a Lego figure of Gru if desired if they feel a normal figure would not work.

None of his remark confirms or denies Deadpool 3 sets.
