Marvel Superheroes 2023 - Rumors & Discussion

The build saves the set, but the minifigures are atrocious. Vision, Hulk and perhaps the battle damaged iron man are good, but the lack of basic leg printing stands out so much if you look at the figure overview. I suppose arm printing doesn't exist unless your name is black widow.

I suppose Ultimate Ultron will go up in price since he isn't included.

Why does Black Widow always get the highest amount of printing out of all the characters? Decent selection though it was never going to cover everyone. Building is awesome and figures will be a bonus.

Her torso (with arm printing) appeared in the Quinjet, so it is a reuse; her legs are new, but they are used on her, Hawkeye, and Falcon.

Especially for the Caps and S.H.I.E.L.D. agents.

Better image of the back shows a surprisingly sparse interior; visible floors are the lobby, lab, Cap vs. Cap bridge, Iron Legion/Iron Man storage, and a few others that I cannot make out; the party scene is most likely in the top section (by the A), as I cannot see it in any of the lower floors. There also is an elevator door on each floor, but insufficient space to actually include an elevator in the set; frustrating, as the lobby is the only floor that needed to have an elevator door, so having one on each floor highlights the absence of a feature that I would have been fine without had it not been suggested by the doors. 🫤

"Puny god!" is the floor under the curved section of the roof.

I can see them making new Ultron sets in the future.

Best fig imho is Vision

It's all beautiful! But… mark 7 :-((( I was so excited to get two new iron man, and instead a battle damage and a recycle. This doesn't do the set justice

Should have included Bruce...

Edit:

  • Sacrifice a Chitauri for a Bruce Banner repeat (For the punching of the Leviathan)
  • Sacrifice Kevin Fiege for Maria Hill (Red dress with Steve's jacket)

Then you can replicate the characters in the Party Scene and the Schwarma scene.

They made the Schwarma scene... but did not include Bruce Banner in the set? WTH?

I am surprised at Banner's exclusion as well, but I think that is the AoU party scene (which still makes his absence weird). Note Mjolnir on the table.

Yeah, realized my mistake :P That said, the Party Scene is also innacurate due to the lack of Bruce and Maria Hill.

Would have sacrificed a Chitauri for Bruce and ditched Fiege for civilian Maria Hill.

But these are still Marvel playsets, I think it's brilliant to make them compatible with the modular line, I don't feel like criticizing Lego if they don't blend perfectly. Even the architectural style clashes in many cases (in fact I regret not having bought the detective's office when I could), but as far as the fit is concerned, it will be enough to find the right position, which may simply not include a building on the right side .

As for purchasing, definitely as soon as possible! A second copy calmly, looking for the discount :-)

Fair enough! I agree, if you really want to make it work it shouldn't be that jard to rearrange the street. It will look nice regardless.

Hill is yet another glaring omission.

Oof these posts didn't age well, this is what complacency and low standards gets you... 8x duplciate minifigs :pir-laugh:

I think people misunderstand how minifigures work when designing a set.

It's not like LEGO tells the designers 'Include 22 minifigures. No more, no less.' and they say 'All right, we'll make the set less desirable by including the same minifigure times four.'

It wasn't a choice between four Chitauris and four recognisable villains. The set already includes one of the highest numbers of minifigures I've seen in a LEGO set.

(And imo a bunch of Chitauri will make the display much more dynamic.)

Ah, the classic „if it weren‘t for [repeat minifigs], we could‘ve had [requested minifig with new prints/pieces]!“ argument  Not really how that works. There‘s no rules saying this set has to include 22 minifigs. Had they decided against featuring Chitauri, we likely would‘ve gotten either outriders in their place, or simply 18 figures in total.

Sure, your complaint about the lack of major villains (besides Ultron) is valid, but you cannot blame it on the inclusion of Chitauri

This is literally untrue, half of the minifig selection are random civilians

Meh figures, the exclusives aren't great (besides Vision and Wasp, we will surely get plenty of Hulks) and the interior looks very empty. Not a fan and especially not at that price.

Yeah I know its a reuse but Im talking about all past versions of Black Widow generally get arm and/or leg printing where as others who would be better with it don't.

Looks like Vision's cape is going to be vinyl :pir-murder:, also I'm not sure I'm liking the minifig head, I think the prior versions are better

How did the post not age well? No one said we were going to get 32 different minifigures, we said you don't understand how designing works

This set is very mid, which for its size and price, it cannot afford to be.

Right on! If you make a 500€ set it has to be the best thing ever, otherwise it's very difficult to justify

He looks extremely goofy and too weird. This might be more accurate, but it's also kinda ugly and the previous version looks less uncanny

I quite the set, the minifig selection is mostly good the only glaring omissions are Bruce and Quicksilver. I mean Bruce is easily replaced with the official or a purist custom. But Quicksilver Ugh that is an annoying omission. Ultimate Ultron would have been nice too, but if there was gonna only be one Ultron they picked the right one for the tower. I mean despite the the interior the set generally seems more based on Avengers 1 ( the endgame timetravel back to the events of avengers one.

Less glaring omissions but still omissions, Agent's Coulson and Hill. Even Agent Sitwell would be better than a repeat of the Wing for the last Marvel Modular. I don't have a wasp and she's a new improved design so she's not as annoying to me personally as Wong but both of them as still bad choices. E

I don't mind the duplicate Chitari or shield grunts it makes sense for the scenes. The 2 caps is a bit more of a bother but still understandable.

And the mini-fig count of 31 was still a bit off as they must've been counting Hulk and Ant-man, cause there's 32 (including Dumb-E) on the side of the box. Whilst I'm not a big-fig fan I can understand counting Hulk, but come on we are not counting trophy figs, besides there'll probably be a spare Ant-man.

Kevin Feigie being on the outside of the box ruins my little pipedream of him being including with the 'WW2 Veteran' in a little bonus box inside (ala diagon alley).

Build does look nice. Do we know all the rooms? I'd like the lab area/birth of vision scene (quicksilver should be present for that though, and the interior doesn't seem very Age of Ultron focused). On the topic of vision to we think there's any chance of a spare set on non Phasing legs, if not I can just use plain sand green ones.

Edit: and non phasing Cale though again I could just use plain yellow, though I have less spare capes than legs.

Lego gave him some nice head ngl 😳

Jokes aside, I know how he's supposed to look, but I can't help but picture a pink looking man in a green full body wetsuit, and I just can't unsee it now.

Wish they included some more Age of ultron representation, feels much more like a stark tower. Same with minifig selection, especially with repeat avengers. But you can’t have everything. Think I’ll wait for the X-mansion reveal and see which one I like better

Still a fan of the build, and was never buying it for the figures but I won't lie - some of those choices are disappointing.

I can kind of get on board with the army builder repeats but things like 2 basically identical Caps, MK1 Ultron over ultimate, and no Quicksilver is a bit disappointing, no matter how scene accurate those first two are.

And honestly why Wong again? Especially considering it's the worst (imo) of all the Wong figures. At least with Ant-Man and the Wasp you can make the argument that they're both founding Avengers in the comics.

On a positive note, I appreciate the effort they've put into the Vision, even if it does look a little goofy. I wanted a green head and they've given it to us.

Interesting… it looks like they numbered the damaged suit Ironman Mark 4 instead Mark 6 when in fact it’s the only suit that has inverted triangle reactor. So this must be an error?

MK.4 has a round reactor (it is the suit seen at the beginning of Iron Man 2); MK.6 has the triangle reactor, and is the suit seen in the final fight (as well as in the first half of Avengers).
