I'm disturbed by the fact that, excepting the polybag, there have only been two heavy equipment-related retail sets this year.

And that's counting the tiny dump truck.

Yep, new parts are great. The electronics could indeed be improved though (physical controller...) but other than that we're well off as far as parts are concerned.

The sets on the other hand are seriously lacking, there's too many cars but the cars are also not that interesting. There's very little in the way of innovation there, mostly the cars are just repeating the exact same functions over and over with some models having slightly more and some having slightly less of them. I'm still waiting for the generic family car with FWD transverse engine with stick-shift gearbox complete with four doors and trunk.

John Deere isn't heavy equipment? Or the Liebherr crane?

On the other hand, we got an airplane and even a space vehicle, so I don't mind the relative lack of heavy equipment.

What I find strange is the lack of a truck in the size of 42128 for two years, lets hope for 2024 :-)

I should've been more specific. I meant industrial/construction equipment. And yes, the Liebherr is included in that.

I thought you might not have counted the Liebherr, as it's not on shelves yet.

I cannot accept such a statement as long as the 32T gear remains absent!

Just kidding... Mostly! :)

Saw 88019 - Powered Up USB Adapter was just added to Brickset. Any idea what this would be for? Rechargeable battery box coming?

I'm not keeping my hopes up: this could be a simple power supply with a Micro USB plug for the SPIKE/RIS hubs, just like the PSUs made for the NXT and EV3 rechargeable batteries.

This.

It seems to be a simple adapter. Outlet to USB.

But we can dream, can't we

At first I was going to say that since Mindstorms is discontinued, any product related to Spike Prime should appear in that category on lego.com, not under Powered Up. But then I checked, and the Mindstorms hub is still available and categorized under Powered Up, so anything can happen... I don't think we'll get an adapter for the Powered Up/Technic Hub, as that also requires a replacement battery insert and a lid as well.

I would actually not be surprised if it was just a recolor of the Mindstorms hub. Maybe with proper support for BLE. But yeah, the 'isBatteryOperated: false' flag points in a different direction. Though might be that a battery is not operated by a battery; it is a battery itself :D But that's getting too philosophical..

Hi, everyone,
In regards to 88019,
I just noticed that it's listed in Brickset:

https://brickset.com/sets/88019-1/LEGO-USB-Power-Adapter

It seems to be an AC power transformer for Powered up products family.

Does anyone have any idea what modules exactly this power adapter can be connected to?

Well, currently it only seems to make sense with the Minstorms / Spike rechargeable hubs, what I don't quite get is why this is needed, and why now, it has been used with general purpose charging adapters so far I guess. Hope Lego is not going in the direction of Apple, in the sense that you are only advised to charge their stuff with their own adapter..

Or does the Mindstorms/Spike unit use a special plug which is being changed to USB-C according to regulation in the EU?

I suspect that these hubs' usage of Micro USB in the face of the upcoming USB-C legislation is one of the reasons behind the discontinuation of MINDSTORMS.

Has there been any more news on the Yamaha bike ? I’m guessing we should get images soon if it’s still an August release ?

Sariel upload 42159 Yamaha MT-10 SP video but deleted very soon. It seems that he immediately uploaded what I was trying to book on the embargo date.

It include LOT of intersting new part. The video went down before I saw that part, but I could see it floating very small at the bottom.

Include

New rotary catch looks like very realistic in medium azure

- It work as like real car's transmission.

New transmission lever for new catch in normal orange

- It work with upper parts.

New 2L transmission ring in looks like LBG

- It is same length with old red 2L ring but smaller diameter and 8 notch unlike 4 notch like other ring

New 24t clutch gear in red

-  I'm not sure, but once I look at the later part, it looks like 24.

Tire and wheel is same with BMW except wheel is blue.

Sariel actually posed a video online just now. It has a new 24t red clutch gear, a new 2L driving ring, a new 8t selection gear and driving ring holder.

but he took the video offline. I think he was too soon.

TLG has moved the embargo on the 42159 set at the last moment. But not everybody got the memo. TLG being TLG.

I wish they'd make a retro series, with re-releases of all the Expert Builder sets from the 1970s-1980s. Tamiya did this with their 1/10-scale electric RC cars.
