It's just three random sets :jollyroger:

Then it shouldn't be much of a problem to wait for them, after all it's only three sets :devil_laugh:

But seriously, I kind of respect that they managed to hold it off for so long, and it looks like they're really flexing it at the moment. And it's not that big of a deal anyway, it's not like we can instantly buy the sets once they're leaked.

Oh don't get me wrong, I don't really care for any of those sets. It's just surprising that we still haven't seen them.

But in all honesty, this situation doesn't require that at all. It's just three random sets :jollyroger:

Indeed! This level of secrecy is usually reserved for sets based on upcoming movies or shows. These three sets don’t warrant that AT ALL :laugh_hard:

Still decently excited to see them, but they certainly won’t set the world on fire

Do we have a full list of what is known so far for next year? If it’s in the thread already apologies. I have not had my eye on the ball for 2023 due to work things

January:

501st Battle pack (Based off battlefront 2017): 2x 501st heavies, 1x 501st specialist with new macrobinoculars part, 1x 501st officer. Build unknown IIRC. For some reason the boxart recognizes the 20th anniversary of Clone Wars 03

Slave 1 Microfighter ($9.99): TBOBF Boba

TIE Bomber ($64.99): Vader, a Gonk, a TIE pilot, and an officer who may or may not be Rae Sloane.

March:

P2 Captain Rex helmet ($69.99)

P1 Commander Cody helmet ($69.99)

May:

Jabba's Throne Diorama (Price $100, I think)

Throne Room Duel Diorama ($99.99): Final Duel from EP VI

Speeder bike chase diorama ($79.99)

1HY, date unknown:

Pirate Snubfighter ($34.99): Mando S3

TIE Interceptor VS Fang Fighter ($89.99): Mando S3

I'm probably missing something or have one or two details wrong, but this is what we know.

Build is a small Av-7 cannon.

Has there been some confirmation that we get both throne rooms or is this still part of some throne room confusion? It feels like we heard nothing new for a long time. Out of the sets we know for 2023 i would only have interest in Jabba's Throne Diorama, so fingers crossed for that set....

X-wing polybag leaked, looks pretty good from what can be seen. Surprising that it leaked before any of the January sets.

501st BP looks great, will definitely buy one day one and probably buy additional ones when it goes on sale. The new microbinoculars piece looks great and hopefully that means we’ll get Commander Bly soon. I think all of the figures look great as well and the cannon is surprisingly good.

Slave I microfighter looks fine but I probably won’t get it since it isn’t Jango’s and I already own a BOBF Boba from the $50 Slave I. It’s a shame that they didn’t fix the coloring for Boba’s helmet and jetpack because that probably would’ve been the only thing to get me to buy it.

I’ve been out of the loop for a while now, why make another 501st battlepack (apart from providing the 501st helmets with accessory holes) instead of another legion?

also are there only 3 sets this wave

Nice sets.

The microfighter is a... well, a microfighter, but it's an okay one.

The battle pack is actually really good, I kinda love it. Not worth 20€ tho.

That microfighter is actually really cute. They're not my thing and I won't be getting it, but I appreciate how they managed to fit Boba in the cockpit and still make a micro version that retains the basic shaping of the source material. As a set that is clearly intended for play I think they've got it spot on with this one.

As for the 501st, are they using the same blue as for the current 501st troopers?

I don't know about the battle pack... The Specialist visor needs printing. The Commander is "ok"... the Heavy troopers are the only ones I really like. With a custom pauldron and gun they will rock.

The build dfor the BP cannon looks pretty good. Shame there is no control panel though. It's also a shame that 3 odf the 4 troopers reuse the standard 501st legs.

Very keen to know what's going on with the helmet for the Officer. In the images the rangefinder is attached where the old helmet bumps on the side are, and not at the new holes above that. However, LEGO's clone helmet product images have been wrong before, like with the 212th.

Overall, it's cute. Still odd they went with more 501st instead of something else, but I might pick up one to work into my display.

Can't wait for the summer wave of 2024 where lego releases black boxes on shelves that contain the new sets. You have to wait until someone buys and reviews it to see the reveal.

‘Featuring New-for-Summer-2024 Surprise Reveal Packaging! Use your Jedi senses to discover what’s inside’ The copy writes itself!

And in a move as old as time, Lego’s official reveals get beaten to the punch by leaks. The Microfighter is nice enough, and I’m pleasantly surprised by the Battle Pack.

@Clone OPatra I’m curious about this too. The rangefinder is noticeably lower than the helmet hole in the box art, minifigure call-out, and back of the box. If this is more misdirection from Lego, they’re being surprisingly consistent with it. Wouldn’t be surprised if the real thing just sits on the existing helmet hole though.

This considered, it does point out the fact that the holes for the clone visors make the rangefinders sit far too high.

Also, we’ll be getting more details on Jedi: Survivor later this week. Would love to get some tie-in sets in the summer wave this time, even if Lego doesn’t want to allocate one of the flagship price points for the Stinger Mantis.

That is my favourite BP in quite a while! Really like the variety here, even though I would’ve preferred a different unit.

The Microfighter is decent. Nice cheap way to get a Boba minifig! Also interesting to see the first Microfighter with a closable windshield

Hope we’ll see the TIE Bomber soon as well!

Perhaps the 501st were revisited because we’ll be getting Rex soon? With the 2020 Battle Pack being retired, it makes sense to have troops for Rex to command available for purchase. Might just be wishful thinking on my part, but it certainly explains why we didn’t get another legion. Especially as Lego were willing to draw from the 212th and 187th (of all legions!) just this year anyway.

Can’t wait to see the TIE Bomber.

I agree with this. Plus, the fact that they updated the Phase II Clone helmet to have holes coupled with the fact that we’re getting a Captain Rex helmet set next year makes me think we’ll definitely get a new figure of him in the summer wave.

The build for the battle pack looks quite good. I much prefer it when it's a substantial single build rather than two small things, and it looks like a decent parts pack - admittedly mostly LBG pieces - for the many who will be buying multiple copies. The microfighter does a great job of getting the appearance right at such a small scale and still able to fit a minifig under the canopy.

My thoughts:

(scaling: 1: unpurchasable 2: abysmal 3: really bad. 4: bad 5: subpar. 6: ok aside from a minor issue 7: decent. 8: good. 9: great. 10: exemplary.)

X-wing polybag: 7.5/10 it's fine. It's an X-wing. The "nose" seems a bit long.

501st battle pack: 9/10 I'm buying 2 copies day of release. A nice side build, and 4 excellent figures. I love the attachments, that the heavies do have backpacks after all, and that the heavies have, well, heavier weapons. The price continues to annoy me, but if you're gonna make $20 battle packs feel "worth it", new, desirable figs stuffed with accessories and a canon side build is a good way to do it.

Slave 1 microfighter: 4/10 Jeez, they couldn't even give boba his antenna? I honestly think I've seen better MOCS of that microfighter. Heck, and I know how egotistical this'll sound, but I think MINE was better. The cockpit is weird, the wings are too small, the guns can't rotate, and it overall looks dumb. But when it comes down to it, it's a cheap way to get boba fett, and that's what'll matter for most people.
