I wasn't on EB then but I was paying attention, and IIRC this is correct. We knew the Final Duel was a retail exclusive and had piece count, price, and number, but did not know until it leaked, and we had no idea that there even was something coming for the Transport.

Yup. I remember seeing that leak for the first time, and everyone thought the Airborne was cody because of how blurry it was. And what you say about the exclusives is about what I remember as well. We knew final duel was coming, just not that it was the final duel (IIRC people thought it would be exogol for awhile, but it was just speculation, no actual rumors or leaks), but the transport came out of nowhere.

It’s weird that we haven’t seen the January sets yet when we had already seen them on around November 15th last year. At this point I think they’ll be revealed on December 1st.

A Dec 1 reveal makes sense. They really have clamped down on image and description leaks this year. On the other hand, we've had names and prices for most 1hy sets in various desirable themes (Indiana Jones, LOTR, SW, Marvel, etc) for a long time now. (I mean, Rivendell was just recently, but that set could come as late as june)

I highly doubt it. Alternative builds for star wars haven't existed in non-book sets for, what, around 20 years now?

Bit of an odd exception, but here's LEGO's official 501st battle pack alternate build that had proper instructions released for it and everything. Close as we can get nowadays.

I've never seen that before, but wow that's kind of hilarious. The droids at the fire is just perfect.

It’s a double edged blade for me. As exciting (and addicting!) as leaks can be, getting official pictures as the first ‘exposure’ to new sets also has its merits. I feel the main problem with Lego’s approach is that they always hold off on official reveals for so long that things end up inevitably leaking anyway.

After how great this year has been for the theme, I couldn’t be more excited for next year. The winter and spring sets and dioramas seem like great choices, but the real heavy hitters will be in the summer wave if the past 2-3 years for this theme are anything to go by. Can’t imagine we won’t get a flagship T-6 Shuttle set to coincide with Ahsoka, and the stars seem to finally be aligning that we’ll be getting Rex, hopefully in a 501st Y-Wing or Republic Gunship.

I agree with this part. As a matter of fact, I don't really see a big advantage to knowing what the future Lego Star Wars sets will be so far in advance, other than satisfying my curiosity (which shouldn't be underestimated!). The only other option I can think of is budgeting but since I usually wait for the discounts to kick in it's not an issue for me.

I think the last time was in January/February-ish of 2020?  It was the most recent General Grievous Starfighter that, for whatever reason, leaked extremely early with a super blurry picture.  If I remember right, that was the year where we got official pictures of the Razor Crest in like February, 501st set in April, the AT-AT in May, and then didn't get the rest of the leaked set pictures until like early June, which was really bizarre since it was just the Grievous set that leaked so early, and we didn't even fully know the other sets we were getting until March or April.  Now that I think of it, I want to say that the Final Duel and Resistance Transport set were both completely unknown until the full wave pictures leaked, so I have no idea how that one set managed to slip through the cracks that early.

Good times. I was shocked that there was two $100 sets, let alone what the two sets themselves ended up being. The Galaxy's Edge set was a very pleasant surprise and I remember thinking people were reposting preliminaries for the 2015 DS Final Duel for some reason, because of how similar that 2020 model was.

I'm shocked that we haven't seen the January sets yet. This might be the smallest window we've had in recent memory between seeing set pictures for the first time (leaked or revealed) and the sets' release date. We've had a few leaked possible 501st figures/parts here and there but that's it. I guess Lego really did crack down on leaks.

The Marvel and Ninjago Jan 1st sets have been shown, how long do y’all think before SW sets are too?

Really soon, they won't be able to hold off for too long.

Looks like a pic of the Tuscan Raider Brickheadz is out. Interesting techniques for the mouthpiece, and looks pretty good as far as Brickheadz go.

That Tusken Brickheadz looks good, might even convince me to buy my first ever Brickheadz. I get the feeling that here, like with the helmets and constraction models, figures with masks/helmets work much better in the Lego style than anything with humanoid features.

Looks like the Star Wars sets are among the few left to be revealed. Not sure what’s holding them back, it’s just three regular sets anyway

Yeah. Don't know what that's about. Though you are forgetting the 2023 DC winter wave... right? right? :cry_sad:

The mouth uses a 1x2 semicircle jumper plate in reddish brown, which is coincidentally what I needed for a MOC I just finished. I see this as an absolute win.

I dunno. I think the simplicity of the brickheadz style makes the humans look fine, kinda like Funkos. That said, you can get more detail on helmeted characters for sure.

I’ve seen a picture on Instagram allegedly of the new 501st trooper. If it is legit I’m a bit underwhelmed especially If we are only getting 1 battle pack a year why could we not get something different? Ok clones are popular why not do another legion? All these new Disney shows could have had purge troopers, imperial army troopers even something from the bad batch but instead we get the same (with a few small changes) from what was around 2 years ago

Assuming they don’t leak beforehand, I’m assuming they’ll be revealed on one of the Tuesday merch announcements starwars.com has been doing for the last while. So maybe we’ll get one or more sets revealed on December 6th.

100%. Definitely my favourite brickheadz so far.

Heard someone claiming that we’ll have the sets revealed today. Anyone else heard this, or is this rando just making it up?

Edit: Yeah, nvm, lol. Thought it might be worth asking just in case.

Think I’ll pass on getting a few of this battle pack ,the specialist binoculars although are something I definitely need a couple of.Are there even heavies or specialist snipers in canon?I feel like it’s almost random who gets the heavy weapons and snipers from what I’ve seen in the show and some comics.

The game the figures are based off is a weird spot in canon, but IIRC the campaign and all playable skins/classes are canon. So heavies and specialist snipers are canon, but we just don't know how they fit into the GAR army organization.

Apparently just a rando, but the sets have to be revealed soon, right? I mean, they come out in under a month. We usually get images around Thanksgiving, so this is a fair bit later than normal.

Feels like Lego are trying to outdo themselves in revealing sets as late as possible. I’m not particularly excited about the contents of the winter wave yet can’t wait to see them!

I’m sure we’ll see these by end of the coming week if not sooner. Looks like themes are getting revealed in ‘batches’ every day at the moment.

BF2 is canon for the most part so yes. When they did the Clone Trooper appearance overhaul update they even consulted Lucasfilm for how they should look iirc.

Can't wait for the summer wave of 2024 where lego releases black boxes on shelves that contain the new sets. You have to wait until someone buys and reviews it to see the reveal.

Then by 2025 you'll be buying blind box sets all for the price of the most valuable set of the wave. "Fingers crossed I get the UCS Venator rather than the $30 battlepack!"

Really surprising we still haven't seen anything by now, LEGO is getting really good at holding leaks off.

But in all honesty, this situation doesn't require that at all. It's just three random sets :jollyroger:
