This thread collects everything you think you know about 2023 LEGO Star Wars sets; discuss your opinions here! Please read before posting:

• We strongly suggest you refrain from criticizing sets on the basis of what you imagine they're going to look like. Wait till we have pictures before you start complaining. And even then, think twice about it

This topic is for 2023 discussion, not 2022, and not 2024.  We will make a new topic when we feel it is necessary.  If your post was on the boards, and now it's not...there is a good chance it was either hidden or moved.  Off topic posts, placing info in the wrong thread, or a request from LEGO to remove something; these are all possible reasons why something may have disappeared.

With regards to upcoming sets and rumors: Read at your own risk. This is a topic about potential items to be released. If you do not want to know, stay out of these forums!!!

With regards to spoiler tags: these are not required and we will not force anyone to use them.  That being said, I'm sure if you did use them, the community would be a much happier place!  Please be respectful of others. If a member used a spoiler tag, their intention was to keep something quiet; it was a courtesy to others. If you choose to comment on the contents of that spoiler tag, please refrain from publicly mentioning what the contents of the spoiler were!!!

With regards to movies or shows: We feel that two weeks from the release date is an ample amount of time for most people to view a movie. Once a movie or episode is released, we the staff, will do all we can to curb the usage of spoilers in any of the topics in the Star Wars forum for two weeks. If you do not see the movie or episode within two weeks, then you read here at your own risk.

This is the policy in the Star Wars forum, going forward. If you did not agree with us in the past, so be it. From this point on, we will not police the threads unless something becomes an issue. Can't believe how fast this year has gone by...

 

Aside from actually getting set pictures, this is probably the most fun part of the year for Lego rumors because we don't really know much yet and that makes it more exciting to get news drip-fed to us. Anything's on the table right now. For stuff that seems pretty likely, we can probably expect:

-At least one set for ROTJ's 40th anniversary next year.

-A lot of sets based on the new content: Mando season 3, Andor, Ahsoka, The Bad Batch and Skeleton Crew. I hope we get at least more OWK set, and more Fallen Order/Survivor stuff also seems somewhat likely to me after that BD-1 set. My biggest questions is if we'll get 4+ sets for Young Jedi Adventures? 

 

I feel like we'll start getting some solid rumors any day now.

When I first saw that list, I got really excited! …until I realised that we once again only get three sets in January  And the three larger ones near the bottom of the list are surely more OT dioramas.

While I hope there’s still something interesting among them, I’m definitely more curious about the 2HY stuff, based on the last three years. That’s where it gets exciting!

Is this the year we finally get a TIE Interceptor remake? It's been sixteen years!

We're probably due for a B-wing remake too. The last one came out eight years ago. 

Otherwise, some Endor sets would be cool. They seem a bit underrepresented.

Also, it’s probably obvious, but what does 2HY stand for?

 

I’m assuming we’ll get some sets for Mandalorian Season 3 and possibly Skeleton Crew in the summer wave next year. And then Ahsoka stuff might be January 2024.

I'm still shocked every time I realize how long it's been since we've gotten Endor sets. I agree they seem pretty likely for next year, but it would be a little funny if we just didn't get any.

It's been, like, a month! The 4+ AT-ST is still brand new! Surely that's just the Endor set you've been waiting for...

There could be, but after this year‘s mediocrity, I‘m not really that excited for more  Unless they include something new this time, of course! If there even are any new ones in the first place, that is.

Iirc 2HY is second half (of the) year so the summer and autumn releases.

• 75347 (65€): OT remake
• 75349 (70€): helmet
• 75350 (70€): helmet
• 75346 (35€): Andor
• 75348 (100€): OT diorama
• 75352 (100€): OT diarrhea
• 75353 (80€): OT diorama

I’m only semi-joking  Hope there’s at least one minifig that’s more interesting than the 2021 and 2022 1HY “highlights”. When Chewbacca with slight snowy printing is the best minifig of the wave, you know you **** the bed

Nah, it'll be the Endor Bunker. Either with the landing platform alongside it, and/or large trees to either side with a small ewok village.

I gurantee lego's still too chicken to do a jabba's palace set again (slave leia, oola, that weird architectural complaint claiming that it's secretly a mosque), I mean look at Boba's palace: they didn't do the roof part like the old Jabba's palace, and I'll bet it's to avoid that complaint.

While I think lego's aversion to jabba sets is moronic (he's a super popular character with kids! And Diego Luna!), I would prefer an Endor MBS, so I might be a little biased in that regard.

Ironically, I think the most recent non 4+ endor sets have both been imperial shuttles? Personally I'd count tyderium since it has endor outfits, but not the 2021 one since it's just Final Duel luke and vader (minus his arms) and a pilot. I think the last non 4+ endor set with some endor-exclusive build was what, the 2013 village? Jeez. We've had multiple Hoth Waves since then, 3 Cantinas, 4 Luke's landspeeder models, etc. I mean, we've had multiple AT-APs and droid gunships since then.

Generic P1 clones for the first time in 4 years aren't new enough for you? (granted, I suppose they only count if they're something you can plausibly obtain)

But yeah that Hoth BP was weak. I much preferred the origional one, since it had a pilot and Mustache trooper.

Rex helmet sounds nice. I think we've got a good idea of their strategy here: Lego starts their new gimmick sets (action battles, helmets, dioramas) with OT sets, since they sell best generally speaking. Then if it does poorly (action battles), it's scrapped. If it does well (helmets), they branch out with more OT and a bit of Mando. If it's proving to be succesful, that's when they bring in the PT stuff. My guess is we will not see many ST gimmick sets at this time. But anyway, my theory will be supported more if that new promobricks lists includes a Mando or PT diorama.

Guessing a new Rex minifig won't be far behind (or ahead?) then! I don't think we've had a single helmet that hasn't reflected a presently available character.

The 10 euro set will most probably be a Microfighter of course, but I'm gonna do a wild guess and say it's gonna be Jabba's Sail Barge with Bib Fortuna at the wheel, or a Gamorrean. Gotta celebrate RotJ.

The 20 euro set being a BP is also a no-brainer, I love that kind of sets but I'm still gonna wait for the discount. Provided that I like it of course.

As for the rest I have no idea, although the 70 euro sets will most probably be helmets, sadly.

I don't want to put all my guesses here, I'll save it for another thread, but the one I'm fairly confident in is that the micro is a micro BB shuttle, or maaaybe a micro Mando's N-1

Oh, by the way, Falconfan. I know you can't give all the info you have (for obvious reasons), but are you able to state whether the $500 superheroes set is marvel or DC?

I think that's more chance than anything, though if I wanted to be a jag I could say that the imperial TIE pilot wasn't availble until 8 months after the helmet. But I do agree a Rex minifig is coming.

By “new” I mean something we’ve never had before, like an Incinerator Trooper or Purgetroopers, not clones we’ve been getting since 2002  I don’t count a slightly tweaked torso print as “new”

I mean, it's a battle pack, isn't it? More for bulking armies than getting new characters. Purge troopers and incinerator troopers would be welcome, but I think more people prefer in general to have the basic troops in BPs and specialists in other sets.

I know, but I feel like January-July all went by insanely fast. And in terms of Lego specifically, I can’t believe we’re already getting into 2023 rumors since we’ve seen or gotten most of this year’s sets at this point.

 

I’m eager to see this set list. I’m going to hope that it’s not another boring January wave of OT remakes and Lego is going to continue keeping up with the new releases, or at least doing less common stuff from pre-existing content like more PT, Rebels, etc. sets.

As for the Rex helmet, that might be one of the few helmet sets that would interest me at this point. I think it’s another tangential piece of evidence, on top of that new clone helmet mold, that we can expect to get a new Phase Two Rex at some point next year. So far, Lego hasn’t done any helmet sets of characters that weren’t easily available either before or after the helmet’s release.

I think we have to count the Endor Action Battle thing from 2019 as an actual set. It's not quite your typical system-scale thing, but it's much closer to that than it is to the 4+ stuff, and it has a proper speeder bike, Ewok tree, etc. But that doesn't change the basic point that Endor has been seriously underrepresented relative to Hoth, Tatooine, and Kashyyyk in particular for the last decade or so.

Crossing my fingers for another Andor set — I think it might become my favourite Star Wars project, the trailers are incredible, and have blown me away, but I sure as hell ain't buying that overpriced set. (Especially since it's not available in retailers in my country, so I can't get a nice discount.)

Imperial.Spy/Fulcrum just posted a picture of Phase 1 Cody’s helmet? I don’t know if this is going to be a helmet set (I think doing a Phase Two Rex and Phase One Cody at the same time would be an odd choice) or a minifigure (which Fulcrum incorrectly reported we’d be getting one this year), so I don’t know what to expect.

Edit: Now he’s saying that he’s not sure which phase the helmet is.
