Third Navigator Posted August 3, 2022 In all lego pirates theme, there were many tries. Buccaneer, Imperial red/blue coats, Spanish army and Islanders. But identified merchant men or their ship appeared in only one set. As you know, the set 6277 is it. Ship in 6277 was made by bricks, not baseplate for more big ships. The ship is good ship but, I have thought that more merchant ships are needed, for a richer pirates theme. In pirates theme, appearance of merchant ship means more views. Bad men in the Ocean plunder these ships, So Imperial soldiers or private mercenary can escort these ships for their profit. We can also make story of the great navigators or adventurers of their merchant ship in their side. Or these 'Common' ships are good at just extra background. But only the one ship could be boring. I could understand the reason of large-merchant ship's low-frequency in lego sets. ...So I built this in Feb, 2022. This ship includes: Slightly fordable square sails, Turnable triangle sails. 14 gun doors(but they are fake for large cargo hold). Curves for hull. Working cargo hatch, winch and windras for derrick crane and anchors. Minifig-accessible hatch in bow. Small cabin. Sorry for the long introduction, Then, Please enjoy the pictures below, Thanks. And historically this is quite accurate, the canny merchants sometimes did paint fake gun-ports on the hull to look tougher. You have really something nice going there, but we need to make some improvement with the pictures. You have Flickr account? Can you share the link to it? Also,I think Making false cannon ports gave me more funny process when I build it. https://www.flickr.com/photos/192557614@N06/albums/72177720300967747 << I hope this is what you are looking for. it can be updated soon. In other word, He may be the true Captain's 'First mate'. XD Steering man: This man used to work as a blacksmith in a castle. Now he became a seaman, and He thinks this is his vocation. last man: He is wearing rich clothes. Is he a relative of an investor? (There must be many ways to imagine.) I hope it helped you! thanks for comment.
