[OL - Recruitment - El Oleonda] Rounding up some old friends

Recommended Posts

"Oh no! Not again!" yelped A'chua, as he quickly turned away from the young woman.

"Come back here you big chicken!" She yelled, stomping after him.

"Nope! No. Leave me alone. I'm done with your priest!"

Sighing, she lobbed a bolas neatly into the sailor's legs, sending him sprawling face-first into the dirt.

"He ain't done with you!" she answered.

"I have a family," he begged. "I want to live in peace."

"So what?" she replied. "You don't get a free pass just cos you ask nicely."

"But... but... I am a free man."

"Oh, that's nice." she answered. "Now if you want to stay a free man, and not a dead man, you'll follow his instructions."

A'chua the Navigator slumped, defeated, and listened as the teenager told him exactly what he needed to do.

Tyree'dee haka, El Oleonda

This is another recruitment build. This time I'm rounding up some of the Tyree'dee to help us defend Fort Arltrees.

This represents a company of 30 men on behalf of Oleon.

Excellent lodge facade. The warclubs are an excellent touch. Great use of your previous unit's lore to 'recruit' another.

Forced "recruitment"? Dammit, quite a dark story.

Nice build though, I like the part uage for the weapons!

Impressment? Interesting choice of getting soldiers, you wouldn't get that in Corrington :innocent:

I like the figs and good colour choice for the roof.

It looks like the Tyree'dee did a haka dance.

Thanks guys. I took a lot of inspiration from Polynesian cultures for the Tyree'dee, so this is all exactly as intended. Glad it worked out.

Historically, France did use conscription during the Napoleonic wars, whereas Britain only recruited (ignoring the press gangs, ships don't count).

That said, I was trying to imply that the threat of death was from the Lotii. Guess that didn't come across quite so much.

Great job on the architecture of the building. It is instantly recognizable as something Polynesian-like and it's a style you don't often see in MOC's (or at least I haven't). I love the organic, round shapes of it.

It's great to see the Tyree'dee expanded upon. Hopefully these men will be able to help in withstanding the Lotii surge.

Thanks! I think I wanted to avoid having the "natives" be a generic tribal culture. Polynesian culture is so iconic, I thought it should be celebrated here.
