[GoC] Spudkirk Library

Recommended Posts

Deep within a place of learning, two theological scholars have a wee discussion.

Corrington prides herself on allowing free thought and free speech. As so, the library was being used by a member of Oleon's Order of the Faith and a minister from the Regenerated Church from Corrington, neither being the dominant religion in Corrington.

Nice library. I like the colored windows and the fireplace also looks cozy. Is there Captain Morgan Dark Rum on the table?

What nice immersive scene. Great job on the brickbuilt Corrington flag and overall details. I also love the figure for the Oléon priest. What figure are the torso and skirt from?

Also, what's the Regenerated Church of Corrington? Has this been mentioned before? I can't recall. Any differences from the usual Faith?

Thank you! It's a university so there's always plenty of drink around :pir-grin:

Thanks! The torso and skirt are from the most recent Build A Minifigure tower.

The Regenerated Church is just something I came up with there. Kind of a take on how the Reformed Church was not dominant in Britain and this caused some issues. I'll hopefully explore it in more builds.

Excellent job, @Spud The Viking! The windows and built-in bookshelves are my favorites, but the whole thing oozes interesting details

 for GoC from me

Looks like the current range of BAM is extremely excellent, with the Red Falcon torsos and these wizard pieces. Too bad I don't have a BAM near me.

Cool! I always like reading about the "small" things in the BoBS universe. The things out of day-to-day life and culture.

This is some of the best of this kind of stained glass I've seen in LEGO, excellent blend of colors!  The lit fireplace is also a really nice touch and I love the low angle and the short focus.

It really is, so useful for Castle and Pirate fans!

Yeah me too. Lore is always interesting.

Thank you very much! I had the build placed in front of one of my windows for the natural light, and my phone torch came in handy for the fireplace :pir-grin:

Lovely build. Real sense of place, there and I love the flag. Can you do a breakdown for us?

Thanks! Here is the flag without the 2x2 tile

Amazing work as I said long ago, far far away. :pir-classic: The bookshelf is great and the stained glass remains the stuff of legends. I don't suppose you would share the backside of the stained glass?

As I commented on Flickr, brilliant work here Spud! The stained glass is a clear standout but the whole scene is so very nicely done. The Corrie flag is especially clever - thanks for the preview shot of how you did it. for GoC

Thank you! The stained glass is just held together with various trans-coloured plates, nothing fancy.

I'd also like to praise the window and the fireplace.

And I am still wondering how you did that flag.

Thanks! Just SNOT and fitting in tiles slopes and cheese graters :pir-grin:

Looks good! Loving the stained glass as well.

And never thought drinks made from Lego could look so appealing and refreshing!
1pm is late enough in the day, right? :P

Lovely lighting!  That flag and the fireplace are fantastic, and the stained glass and drinks on the table are sweet as well.  Great call making the shelves that tall too! :pir-grin: :pir-huzzah2:
