Lego Star Wars (2005)'s Dramatically different Game Boy version

I had played this game years back, and haven't really seen much discourse around this particular version. It has a ton of differences to the console ports; death actually sends you back to the previous checkpoint, special combat abilities distinct for the main characters, and even a few scenes that the console version didn't cover, like Anakin slaughtering the Tusken Raiders. Did anyone else on here play this version? If so, I'd love to hear some takeaways.
