Superheroes Prices (from Brick_Clicker & eugenetoyandhobby website):

76216 $90 (June)

76217 $55 (June)

76218 $210 (August)

76220 $10 (August)

76221 $45 (August)

76225 + 76226 $25 (September)

76230 $25

Unknown Marvel vs. DC as far as I know.

Our last hope for Black Adam is those two June sets. I could honestly see them including Black Adam with all of the JSA members and Hawkman’s ship in that $90 set but I don’t want to get my hopes up.

Probably Hulkbuster. Do we know anything about the supposed $500 set?

Hulkbuster is supposed to be $250 though.

And the $500 set is still a mystery - we don't even know what theme it is for yet (Marvel vs. DC)

Here’s hoping those prices include something DC, otherwise the state of play seems to be along these lines:

DC fans - a non Batman set would be cool. Pretty much anything.

Lego response - we’ve made Thor’s hammer.

Star Wars fans - we want Mando’s star fighter.

Lego response - ok, we’ve included a new droid mould as a sweetener, and another new character.

My mistake.

If anyone is interested here’s a petition for lego to expand their dc lineup. If we get to 10,000 it will be presented to lego, dc, and Warner Brothers. https://chng.it/RPZS6gmJJ5

Honestly, the hardest factor is what is probably just the plain truth: If LEGO DC sets sold, we would have a lot of them right now.
I don't say that with any malintent towards DC or LEGO DC or LEGO DC fans. I have some of the '89 Batman sets, because they are great sets, but LEGO is a business.

If DC sets flew off the shelves and people were buying lots of them, we would be getting so much more. The fact that all we get is Batman sets is likely just the simple truth that LEGO knows Batman at least will sell...

These petitions never accomplish anything. The only vote Lego would care about in this instance is the kind made with a wallet.

Indeed. The only campaigns helmed by fans that seem to accomplish anything are the ones that are just so obnoxious that the companies cave in simply to shut them up :laugh_hard:

Please be better than that y’all :snicker:

There’s still the 1966 Batmobile (not rumoured or anything but it’s the only iconic vehicle known by enough people to warrant a D2C) but after that I think they can say the list exhausted.

Even then, I think it's telling that they went back and re-released a set from not that long ago with no significant updates before doing a '66 Batmobile. I think they've exhausted the list.

DC is seen to get the short end of the stick in part just due to lack of sets, especially when compared with earlier years (like 2014-2015) and Marvel's consistently populated lineup of releases. I would agree that generally any sets DC does get are pretty solid, but sets are becoming more few and far between, and that's been a bit difficult for fans to see.

That is what I don't really get. Am I the only one with limited space?^^' I mean Marvel has for example so many versions of Iron man and none of them has the really needed arm printing (except for a silver version from a Toys'r'us pack)... We even have a Deadshot with arm printing. Now I am happy don't need another one, which would probably be less detailed.

To me it seems that the expectations are just too high since TLBM have us huge amounts of Sets including even D-List villains like Egghead with unique moulds.

I’d say that the inclusion of the Attack mode screens was a pretty significant update. The minifigure scale 1966 car was on back order for ages in loads of places, so I don’t necessarily believe it’s telling. They don’t know what to do with the DC line, that’s obvious.

I suspect that's a Batmobile that would sell really well at that scale but not as well at a D2C size. I own the small one but would definitely pass on a bigger one. That's just me though, obviously I don't speak for anyone else.

For me it is not about limited space, but I have only been collecting Lego for a short time, while you may have a Deadshot with arm printing, I would be more than happy with one without arm printing if it was in a recent set. The biggest issue is the way Lego release is that they have to account for new customers like me every year or so, since they have no way to order back catalogue items. I am not saying that they should but I am saying that they need to keep releasing and re-releasing popular things, or those of us new to Lego miss out, and Lego miss out on new customers.

Lego sets are generally not aimed at AFOLs, but at new customers. Iron Man would be the Marvel equivalent of the Star Wars X-Wing or the City Police Station. Any Marvel fan would need to get it regardless of when they came into the hobby.

I personally would love for DC to re-release the full Justice League since I don't have any of their minifigures besides Batman. That being said whatever DC sets currently come out are going to be bought by me as I have so few DC sets already.

Take this with a grain of salt.

“electricbricks” (the same website that gave us these set numbers in the first place) has labelled 76216, 76217, 76218 and 76225 as DC.

June release

76216 - 496 pieces - $89.99

76217 - 476 pieces - $54.99

August release

76218 - 2708 pieces - $209.99

September release

76225 - ??? pieces - $24.99

Please please please in keep in mind any of these could become a Thor’s hammer scenario. 76218 could be another Bat-Vehicle D2C.

Here is @Falconfan1414’s comprehensive list of upcoming Super Hero sets. Keep in mind he hasn’t labelled them as Marvel or DC and rightly so but just wanted to provide all this for food for thought.

Don't take that as the truth.

They were the ones that labelled Thor and Ant-Man sets as DC previously, when the set numbers were found on their site.

*IF* (and that's a big if) that $210 set is DC, it's very interesting. Very early in the year for a D2C Bat-vehicle, but very expensive to be anything non-Bat related considering how little faith Lego has in other DC properties. Having a hard time envisioning what this would be. Perhaps the Tumbler isn't selling well and they're moving this years forward?

I got mixed up - It isn’t a D2C, all the sets listed are non-D2C because as the name D2C suggests it’s direct to the consumer meaning resellers and stockists won’t have it. It’ll be similar to the Benetar in terms of how it is sold. Almost certainly not a large scale Bat-Vehicle.

If we do get another Bat-Vehicle D2C, we won’t know about it yet.

It could be a D2C. If a D2C, retailers would be getting it three months after LEGO release, which would put it at a May release for LEGO.

I mean, that's when we got the Bugle. So maybe? I would think we'd start seeing rumblings pretty soon though if that's the case.

No offence, but don’t waste your breath. The whole thing won’t work. Notice how it said to be presented to TLG, DC, and Warner Brothers. Now notice how it did not say that once passed TLG will comply with their requests. This kind of thing never goes anywhere, and in my opinion it’s just an attention grabbing stunt.

No offense, this isn't going to do anything. First off, because not enough people are going to sign it for it to be "presented to lego", but secondly, because if non-batman sets sold well, we'd have more non-batman sets. Lego does there own market research, and apparently batman sets sell the best by far. This isn't even a "well lego maybe just doesn't realize" situation, because it's not like we've never had substantial numbers of non-batman sets. There've been scatterings of non-batman stuff throughout the last decade, and, well, most of them haven't sold all that great.

If it’s sold by other retailers it isn’t a D2C. But yes you’re right if it’s in a situation where LEGO are waiting 3 months like with the Ideas sets it could be a May release. And if it’s a May release, it’s in production right now so it won’t be long until we find out.
