[OL - Faction Flavours] To Our Fallen Brothers!

Recommended Posts

No sooner did the zealous recruits of Nola Mar swell the ranks of the Garde de Grenadiers du 1er Régiment (1st Regt Grenadier Guards), then the brutal street fighting of the climactic battle for King's Port cut the ranks down to below their pre-war strength. Included in this death toll was the Regiments beloved former Commander, Colonel (COL) Delange. Now, with the young COL Edward Beauchamp in Command, a special message from the high council directing the regiment to establish a new, permanent headquarters in North Sillitholina.

Once the historic artifacts of the Regiment's campaigns arrive, Colonel Beauchamp breaks in his new Officer's Mess with a formal dining in.

"To our fallen brothers, who have successfully completed their mission. They bravely gave everything for the Crown and now enjoy their place among the heros in the halls of the Gods! To our brothers...!"

*silence.... no one takes a sip or makes a sound, only the crackle of the fire remains for what seems like minutes. Unlike most toasts in the mess, there is no reply and no drinking, a toast to our fallen brothers is only met with silent reflection in respect for those who can not toast or drink with us tonight.*

Around them is the legacy of the 1st Grenadiers. 1 jokes that there are more Corry colors in the Officers Mess of the Regiment than in the queen's birthday parade.

Later in the evening, Beauchamp opens an envelope with a broken seal that had been quietly drawing attention all night. He stands, the room hushes, he reads...

"For their fearless actions in the late campaign, His Majesty thanks the brave Officers of the 1st Grenadier."  *instant thunderous applause, banging on tables, hooting and howling, dieing down just as rapidly as it arose.

"Acknowledging that peace between the Kingdom of Light and Corrington has only ever been a transient state, His Majesty recognizes the precarious position of the latest peoples brought into His Peace."

"Noting the relationship between L'Olius and Corrington and the partition of Sillitholina into North and South, his Majesty commands the 1st Regiment take up headquarters in the settlement of North Sillitholina and for Colonel Beauchamp to establish a magistrate to the governance of the King's subjects there. Your purpose here is to defend these most vulnerable of the King's loyal subjects against the machinations of Corrington while further to extending the King's hand to share peace and prosperity with our former enemy in Westface "

What a colorful room! With all the decoration and the minifig it is really pleasing to the eye! Excellent write up too!

"A toast to the brave 1st Grenadiers!" said Hugo D' Offren while raising a cup of fine wine straight from Old World. Then he thought of everything red in the world and furiously clenched his hand...

"A toast," said Bishop François, as he spilled his wine on the monastery floor. The glorious dead live on in Hades' Kingdom, and they could drink from his glass any day.

A nice little build. I like the glasses on the beam supports. Nice architectural detail.
