Actually it's quite logical.. You want the rear tyres to loose grip in order to drift. So you need to take weight out of the rear axle so the tyres have less grip.

Very interesting method of making a drift chassis. Instead of using the normal servo steering system, you've basically used a tank steering system.
Looks like it's working quite well!

Will you release instructions on the chassis?

I don't need to get less grip on the rear axle, I need to have grip for good acceleration and steering precision.

For example, if there were plastic wheels on rear axle, they wouldn't be able to spin the chassis due to lack of grip.

And most importantly, because of what you need to have all the weight in the back, this is the hammer effect - the heavy part of the chassis will rotate around the front

I think there will be instructions, but a little later (for the current version with 2L and without tilting suspension)

@NoEXIST Any updates on this?

I can't wait to see how this turns out!
I wonder if a chassis can be made that's bigger and uses larger tyres.
Perhaps even RC motors.

I'm sorry for the lengthy reply.

At the moment there is no progress, I am thinking about how to make a steering system with a tilting suspension

If you can improve the system so it handles even better then yeah it's a project well worth the effort. So far nobody has done this before.
Just remember to keep the old system too. It already looks like it performs great!

Only thing i would experiment with is larger tyres/size and suspension..

The system should remain the same, but should be able to tilt

Today I have some ways of tilting axles, I need to modify one of them and install in the chassis

About instruction:

I decided that publishing a 3d model would be enough for the old version of the chassis.

So file will be published within a few days on Rebrickable, I will also inform about it here.
