Forgive me if I'm wrong guys but I do recall MandR saying Wrecker will have a brand new helmet mold?

Obviously we need to take that info with a pinch of salt, but I'm pretty sure he's claimed to have seen official set pictures.

The actor said he won't be in the series, but could appear in a second season. There's been no issue with the character or actor I'm aware of, just a strange production decision

Tudyk's full quote was "I'm going to be in the show. It's just that the story that Tony [Gilroy] is telling doesn't involve K-2SO until later on... I can't be too specific, but I can definitely say that I'm not going to be in the first season", per the Collider article. I think it's still a pretty safe bet that there's going to be a K-2SO figure in the relatively near future, just not in the first Andor wave. He's definitely a more memorable character than Cassian himself, at least to most audiences (although I'm told that Diego Luna is worshiped as a minor deity in Latin America, so he could probably carry the show himself for that market).

Heck, even a fake rumour would do right about now to bring it back on topic... Where's one of our fake rumour spreaders when you really need them

Well we're now talking about possible 2022 sets based on the presence of an actor in a 2022 TV series and what sets were made in 2016.

I appreciate many things about living in America like deep Walmart discounts on Lego sets. But the arrogant American attitude is something I'm working on shedding.

There's no need to apologise. I simply thought you made that reference because those in the debate you were referencing were mainly American by virtue of the time zone and it just seemed like good moderating.

Having said that, I think it actually would work for Wreckers helmet

If it would work I'm all for it.

What about Ezra’s imperial cadet helmet?

That looks like it would work. They could design a piece that fits under the head and helmet to bulk it up like the character, because the helmet you mentioned has a good shape.

Also sad I missed the TIE Striker. And Krennic’s shuttle. And the hover tank... I’m not even that hyped about the Andor series but the potential for remake sets of that wave has me excited... and my wallet scared

I missed out on the Striker, but got all the other 2016 sets. I think all of the Rogue One sets were brilliant because of the amount of generic figures in each set, such as the TIE Striker containing four generic trooper/pilot figures.

I've got no idea, but honestly that seems like a waste of a mold spot that could be better spend on any of the other characters (besides crosshair, who could use the ARC one).

This makes me think cassian won't have a u-wing this season, i'm really getting the vibe that he's on solo missions this season. I'm guessing if we get a "hero ship" set, it'll be his A-wing.

I got the entire wave (though it took me about a year), but I ended up selling the striker and shuttle (I really regret selling the shuttle). Honestly I think it's the greatest wave of all time for lego.

Echo and Hunter, from what I can see, look like their helmets would be fine with their normal P2 mold, just printed sort of like they did JEK-14's helmet.  Tech definitely would require a new mold, though.  If they only could do one molded helmet, I'd rather they Wrecker's helmet re-used an existing mold and was slightly less accurate over Tech's, since I think Tech's is a bit more distinctive.

This is an insanely long shot, but apparently that old game Republic Commandos is coming to Nintendo Switch. Give LEGO’s usual track record with video game sets and that fact that it is just a port, it seems unlikely we will see anything come from it, but I suppose anything’s possible, especially given that LEGO recently seems to be heading into gaming. (Mario, Avengers, etc)

It took me some time too, half were gifts and teh others I got later. I think 2016 sets were so good because of the great hand Rogue One dealt them. They were able to make small and medium sized sets with generic, but new figures, and the larger sets were so distinctive in the movie and fitted right in, but weren't a redo of an old vehicle like some ST sets.  There were also some of the best remakes of old vehicles too.

I hope that this is an indicator that the Andor sets will be very good to because of what will be hopefully good source material. If we get an A wing, at least it should be a new colour, which might be good.

I would guess that three of teh bad batch helmets will use the regular clone P2 helmet and will have different prints than usual, like the 2012 ARC trooper you mentioned and the 2014 BARC trooper (though those two examples were different moulds).

I feel like Echo needs a new mold still (they could use it for Neyo too), but you're right about Hunter, on closer inspection a p2 helmet would work. I do agree tech needs a new one the most, though.

I'm working on a post in the future sets forum including this. I doubt we'd get a set unless they did a remake, but I guess you never know.

I'm super excited about that port though, VODE AN!

That's true, they did have good vehicles to make and the medium-sized sets were good. (I owned three TX-225s at one point, though I broke one down for parts in 2019).

The concept art of his A-wing is tough to make out the color from since it's kinda on fire and has a chunk taken out of the cockpit, but it seems to be brown where the red is on the normal a-wing, which would be interesting.

The BARC mold is just the normal p2 (I thought it was new too, but turns out it's normal. This is some mandela effect stuff, man!).

It looks to be a straight PC-to-Switch port like Episode 1: Racer and Jedi Knight were. I highly doubt a Republic Commando set would be considered unless there is a complete remake or retelling of it because the story itself isn't canon.

This sounds really stupid but Tech could ALMOST work with one of the OG P2 helmets. It would be a cool throwback and it wouldn't look half bad IMO. There's no way in Mustafar they'd do it but still. Honestly I don't see why Wrecker out of all of them gets a new mold. His helmet is basically featureless. Just slap it on a P2, we'll still buy it, and give the much more distinctive Tech the more critical for accuracy new mold

No, I see it, the open visor means you can put a goggled head under it to get the right look. I agree they'd never do it (I don't think they have the molds anymore), but it would be pretty cool.

As for helmet need overall, here's my ranking after studying the designs.

Hunter (can use p2)< Wrecker (can use imp cadet or new iron man) < Crosshair (can use ARC helmet, but I don't know if they've still got the molds, and it wouldn't work with a p2 helmet) < Echo (could use p2, but for best accuracy a new mold would be nice) < Tech (literally cannot be done to lego's standards without a new mold).

Crosshair could easily be given a flame trooper helmet mold (though the lack of rangefinder would be very disappointing, but it's not like it's the first time they've ignored a rangefinder) and Echo and Hunter just like a regular p2 helmet mold or first order helmet mold (note - the outfit Echo wears in his close-up in the trailer doesn't appear to be his regular one, I included pics of his normal armour below)

I'm not sure I agree with the ARC helmet for Crosshair. Is the only advantage to that that it has a hole to mount the rangefinder? The face is a little better than the regular P2, maybe, but Crosshair doesn't have the antenna on top, which is the biggest difference between those molds. LEGO might not care (they've made P1 pilots with antenna forever), but I would rank that more likely to get a new mold than Echo (although Echo has the advantage that other Wolffe and Neyo use the same style, so that's about the only one of these that they might get another use out of).

Regardless, I really hope they give Wrecker some armor to bulk him up and make him more distinct. It really bugs me when LEGO fails to do this with other characters that are supposed to be larger and bulkier like War Machine. I think this part would work great for Wrecker(and for War Machine for that matter)

Actually they were different, but it was the 2012 ARC helmet that was unique, not the 2014 one.

The ARC helmet had holes to attach a rangefinder and a more prominent fin, whereas the BARC helmet, as you said, was a clever print on the regular P2 helmet. The regular P2 helmet used by the BARC trooper was released in 2013, and I don't think the 2012 helmet was ever used again. I know in posts since you mentioned the differences between these two helmets, so I think it was just my wording, I meant different to each other, not the P2 mould, but I noticed my sentence was a bit ambiguous.

Still, that was sort of what I meant, with clever printing they could easily make three different new helmets for the bad batch figures.

Perhaps tech could use the 501st pilot helmet from 2013? It wouldn't allow a rangefinder to be added but could work with clever prints.

Ehhh... I hear a mountain lion!

*1000 Internet points to you if you got that reference and no, I’m not gonna explain it*

That has been confirmed already :excited:

No idea. The R2 set is scheduled for May and the AT-AT sometime in Autumn I think, so Summer...-ish?

I didn't get the 1000 Internet points :cry_sad:

But is it confirmed along the same level as the cara dune minifig being in the cruiser set, as in, there seems to be uncertainty if its 100% certain or not....? (as far as certain can be) If its confirmed as such, then given the next part of your post as well, my wallet is going to despise me

I believe it was Tech who was stated to have a new helmet mould, which makes sense as it has the most distinctive profile.

One thing I’m interested in is how the Darksaber will be handled, presuming it comes with Moff Gideon in the Arquitens. A standard lightsaber hilt along with the shortened katana piece from Ninjago should do the trick, and I think the Prime Empire sets already use this piece combination?

Also, remoulded P2 clone helmet with attachment holes please Lego! Such a minor modification that will open the door for countless specialised Clones in the future.

Just built 75299 Trouble on Tatooine.  I wish they include a bigger tent than having the crossbow.  Anyway, happy to get Baby Yoda in a cheaper set.  here is my detailed thoughts.

I bought a 2nd set & combined the two half tents into a full tent, which worked out quite well.

I think if they want to go for total accuracy, it would be a new mold, worst case scenario they just give us a black bar piece and a lightsaber hilt.  Most likely is probably just a black katana piece, though, at least in my opinion.

Brickset review of the Imperial Shuttle includs a nice comparison with the previous models: https://brickset.com/article/57839/review-75302-imperial-shuttle

I never noticed the use of different window elements for the cockpit. The new shuttle uses a bigger one which seems more accurate. That is what, in my opinion, was a bit off from the Tyderium. I might considering modding it as the new one.

Yeah, echo and crosshair are close. I would prefer echo, as like you said it's got other uses, but I wouldn't complain if crosshair got one instead. Really I'd only complain if Tech doesn't get a new mold.

Hey, I use that part for war machine too! I think Wrecker would benefit from that part, though the clips on the back are pretty brittle.

The uncertainty isn't that the source was unreliable, it's..extraneous circumstances for the other thing, to put it in a way that's as unlikely as possible to restart the argument.

Off topic, but I’m looking at the new 4+ Electromech they did in Ninjago, with the new Mech leg pieces, and am I the only one thinking that those parts might be foreshadowing a 4+ AT-AT?

The ball joints? I could definitely see that, and it would probably be the first and last 4+ set I buy.
