[MOC] Mega Medieval MOC Mania Entries

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

On LOWLUG is a Castle contest from beginning of March till the end of April. :sweet:
There are 5 categories in this contest.

Vignet
Flora
Battle/Duel
Village life
Headquarters

I've build several MOC's for this contest.
I'll share them in this topic.

Vignet - Classic Castle

50988603118_452b48e2b7_c.jpg

This is the only Classic Castle minifig I have. It was suitable to use for a vignet.

Vignet - Knights Kingdom II

51070916208_12cbfec5c6_b.jpg

A young Vladek is at the small gate of the Black Fortress.

Duel - Knights Kingdom

51058756641_f39411dcd7_c.jpg

This is the duel between Cedric the Bull and Princess Storm.

Flora - Fantasy

51058035338_791806f0f9_c.jpg

Just a small scene with more focus on plants and trees.
For this build I used a Magenta baseplate.
Inspiration for this build came from the album cover of a Melodic Death Metal band called Black Forest with the album Dream.

Flora - Forestmen

51068371943_0013c3cb79_c.jpg

Of course I've had to build a Forestmen MOC for this contest.
The Forestmen are in the forest for hunting. They have spotted a deer.

Headquarters - Lion Knights

51012027633_321df3c15a_c.jpg

Photo is a bit too bright. Sorry for that.
Lion Knights are leaving the city.
Some people are in the street getting the usual stuff.
In the alley are a few spies of the Dragon Knights.

Feedback is appreciated. :classic:

Beautiful vignettes, each one gets even better. Do you have chickens by any chance? They would improve the builds(That is for me, because personal reasons:tongue:). Overall I especially like those two last builds. Amazing job!

Also, what is LOWLUG. I'm weakly familliar with this subforum, so I'm not sure if it's a term or an event.

Really a delightful set of vignettes.  The Yellow Castle one is so charming, and the colors in the Fantasy and Forestmen builds are great!  The Duel is a good balance of detail and simplicity.  Great all-around!  :classic:

After the first two, I thought there was going to be a pattern. A series of 8x8 vignettes for each faction over the years would look great.

in the Headquarters - Lion Knights build are some chickens.

LOWLUG stands for Lego User Group of the Lowlands.
It is a LUG from the Netherlands for Dutch speaking AFOLs.
English speaking AFOLs are also welcome.

I see, now that I think about it, think I recall there was something along those lines here in Latvia too, not 100% sure though. Good to see Lego events still happening (hopefully safely).

All of these MOCs are great!  I too am hoping to enter a few entries into the contest as well (and maybe learn some Dutch).

The yellow vignette is very simple, but has just the enough detail to keep it from being boring.

I love all the vegetation and not-quite natural colors on your Flora - Fantasy entry, but enjoy the autumn colors of your Flora - Forestmen better.

Your Lion Knights Headquarters is my favorite!  Using the double-pentagon shields is a great technique!  The base is nicely decorative too.

My only criticism is that the trunk of the larger tree in your duel scene is too thick - perhaps if the top of the tree was cut out of the shot (so it could be imagined to be much bigger) it would work better.

Sorry for the late response.
Thank you all for the comments.
@jtooker The tree in duel was something I wanted to try, but need some improvement.

My next entry for this contest.

Headquarters - Fright Knights

51105129413_31294753f2_c.jpg

This is my own version of the Witch's Magic Manor from 1997.
Some inspiration was taken from the King Mountain Fortress.

Willa the Witch is experimenting in the cave.
In the cave are two cells with prisoners.

I had to sort a lot of parts and that took some time.

I wanted to build some more entries for the contest.
Two more entries are finished.

Village Life - Inn

Thanks!

My last entry for the MMMM contest.

Battle - Black Knights vs. Crusaders vs. Black Falcons

51146212486_1b06e97949_c.jpg

Another war. Will the conflict ever end?
In the open fields the Black Knights and the Crusaders are battling and the Black Falcons charge right into batlle.

This was inspired by the Battle of the Five Armies.
