I got the 42123 McLaren and decided to build a rc version of it.

McLaren 42123

Here is my actual step:

McLaren RC WIP #1

It has got no suspension but positive caster angle at the front. 😊

This looks good! How well does it drive? I like how you’ve kept the body original.

Thanks!😊

At the moment i have almost finished the chassis.

Here you can see a first drive:

I'm pretty shure, that in background it is original.

You need to improve steering gear connection to rack, it will disconnect.

You are right, in the background it is original, of course

Yes it is some kind of improvement, but still those gears can easily move away from gear rack. Maybe it is not critical for this laod, but anyway.

What is the motor you are using for steering?

It is named geekoservo. You can find it herefor example:

If you don‘t crash, it will be ok 😉

Thanks much!! Which kind of Lego wire connects to that Geekservo?

Maybe many here won‘t like it, but there is no Lego wire connector. Here you can see my electronic setup which i use:

Thanks very much for the information!! I'm wanting to get what it looks like you wanted: more power in a lighter weight package (especially for the buggy motor). One question; does the white wire end of the battery connect to a charger? I'm trying to understand this kind of battery better (two wires). I'm also assuming this a LiPo battery.

You are right. Yes it is a 3s LiPo and the white connector is for the balancing wire at the charger. And also important when using it you should connect a LiPo warner to it, which warns you when the cell voltage is under 3.3V
