Jack Sassy Posted February 10, 2021 Hello there boys and girls or whatever, Pirates are known for plundering around West Indies and other places alike, however there were also pirates in areas that have snow. It's actually quite a lot like cowboys - mainly they operate in warm areas, but there are some that operate more north, except the only difference is, that there are MOCs of cowboys in winter and yet none (that I could find) featuring pirates in winter. This surely isn't the most popular topic from pirates to talk about, but I believe it deserves some attention too. Perhaps any of you know some good pirate winter MOCs? evancelt Posted February 10, 2021 Hey @Jack Sassy - I realize this one is Imperials and not pirates per se, but here is a MOC I did last fall: "First Snow in Elizabethville"

evancelt Posted February 10, 2021 I haven't seen any pirate MOCs in snow climates, but lots of viking ones! Anyway, I think it would be an area ripe for some new MOCs if you wanted to give it a try!

Jack Sassy Posted February 11, 2021 1 minute ago, Mister Phes said: But I must ask; what's the fascination with snow in the Caribbean? Or snow in LEGO Pirate MOCs? I think it's more of a fascination with pirates in snowy regions, it shows something different, something less exotic. Nothern regions with snow have always been to me as a treat, whenever included in a movie or game or a MOC. I really like MOCs with snow, like some of those castles ones with a castle on a snowy mountain or those wild west MOCs with cowboys surviving in snowy forests. The half frozen river between snowy slopes is what I could imagine a pirate ship calmly sailing through. Closest thing we've had for it was in At World's End, where the crew went all the way north to get to the world's end.
Mister Phes Posted February 11, 2021 Not quite pirate, but almost fits the period...

Tezclatipoca Posted February 11, 2021 Wow ! That's a hard question ! Since you have to consider what you're calling Pirate and which guys you can put in wintery conditions ! Halas for our good old brave nefarious Pirates there is no place for snow in the Caribean Sea... Sorry. BUT ! You can find good ideas or representations of what could be Pirates in winter in our Brethren of the Brick Seas community ! For example right here this year we had a full Advent Calendar with snowy or Christmas-ish builds to enjoy !
evancelt Posted February 11, 2021 (edited) Good point, @Faladrin! Lots of good snow pirate builds in there Edited February 11, 2021 by evancelt
