[MOC] Recreation of Orient Expedition Set "Temple of Mount Everest"

Recommended Posts

This set was one of my favorites when i was young. It was my first "big" lego set and Orient Expedition was one of my favorite themes. Therefore i started to recreate this set in Stud.io and maybe I'm gonna get the parts to build it.

I started with Sam Sinisters (or Baron von Barons) biplane, this is my first prototype:

Let me now if you have any suggestions. The next part is going to be the ropebridge.

That's a nice looking biplane for that size. As for suggestions, I'd add a little more detail (maybe some exposed pistons through the engine cowling or something?), and I think the modified slope brick connecting the fuselage to the upper wing looks a bit chunky to me for how relatively sleek the rest of the build is.

Looking forward to seeing more of this project!  :classic:

Thanks for your suggestions, the modified slope piece is indeed realy chunky, I‘m gonna try to find something better, but it should be something stable aswell.

For the engine i went that way at first, because I wanted a clean look, but I‘m gonna create some alternate versions, maybe even something a little more cartoony with an oversized engine.

I changed the design of the biplane a bit as recommended:

I also created some alternate versions:

Really nice shaping on the biplane and the snowy terrain. Love that bridge, and look forward to seeing what you do with the temple. Will you add boobytraps?

Thank you all for your comments, here is the next part of the set: The ropebridge. I added a trap/playfeature where the icicles can fall onto the path below and of course the ropebridge is collapseble.

A rope bridge built with actual rope? Not just one giant piece? That's not the Adventurers way!

Just kidding . Looks very cool and playable.
