[MOC] Black Crows Fortress

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

A happy new year to you all.

I want to show you my latest creation.

50816479413_4cc042e155_c.jpg

This castle is the home of the Black Crows.
The men are preparing to march through the lands.
Some people are moving crates and barrels to the storage rooms.

I wanted to use the Tournament Knights.
This was a great excuse to do something with the new minifigures.

For more pictures, please look into my Flickr album.

Comments/feedback/questions are appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Nice clean build.  I like the door.  I like that you can remove the front and see inside, nice detail.  I need to get some more of those knights I only have 5 at the moment.

Nice.

It is interesting that two mocs posted about an hour apart use that same / similar technique for the crenellations.

Oh, I like the finishing of the crenellations. Gives a nice contrast with the lighter gray walls.

This castle simply begs to be expanded. The built feels quite compressed now.

But... you can't bar the gatedoors on the inside???

Thank you all for the kind words! :classic:

@MAB: It is just a coincidence.  I've seen several builds using this technique and it felt right to use for these minifigures.

@GeoBrick: Thanks for the feedback. I'll use it for my next castle.

That's beautiful.
Very classic, very cozy, yet very detailed and well thought of.
I adore this work on the battlements, and the use of masonry bricks is excellent.
But that base, oh man! Must be mentioned as well. I'm taken by the helmets, here. Lovely work!
Skol!

Great castle/keep on the water!  The front of the castle looks great - you have a good balance of texture technique for the size of the walls.  The brick (tile) built door fits well and looks heavy enough to hold up to intruders.  The dark tan rocks at the back are a nice alternative to the normal dark bley.  The base/stand is a nice, subtle way to frame the MOC.  Thank you for sharing!

I wanted some texture in the walls, but not too much. This is the ideal amount of details in walls for me.
Those helmets are all from the Tournament Knights and I wanted to use them in the frame.

That's so cool. And tonnes of detail in it, considering the fairly modest size of the footprint of the model as a whole.

Wow, great build!  Would absolutely love if this inspired TLG to release something similar.  Would be a first day purchase for me

Thanks!
Like many I wish that TLG will release a new Castle theme/series.
But we all know, that is not going to happen unless it has a huge story to tell.
