[Factions Ep. 7 - Cat B][O10 - Ambria - TT] “Dank farrik”

Bravura squad has once again been dispatched, this time to Ambria, on the search for Moff Pyerce’s forces. Coda, Dolore and Ferroce along with ISB had approached a settlement north of the LZ. DT-R65 and IG-828 explored the natural formations...

"Dank Ferrick" SW Faction RPG

DT-R65, IG-828 and specialists from the ISB roamed the horizon on an infantry support platform, repurposed for imperial use as a transport. A cloud of steam rises a wall ahead of them. IG-828 turns toward DT-R65. He nodds, and directs the speeder towards the steam. A white wall lay before them. “This could be a vent, from a generator, Could also be a natural vent.” says DT-R65. “We should go down there.” says one of the specialists. DT-R65 takes off his helmet, takes a knee in the barron and hot sand. He feels its coarseness between his fingers. The area around the steam has an abundance of minerals from the core.

DT-R65:  “I used to work in places like this… I’ll go down. IG-828 will lower me down with his grappling hook.” He puts on his helmet and IG-828 hands him the hook. The temperature rises as DT.R65 descends. “We’re receiving a transmission from headquarters.” says the specialist to IG-828. IG turns toward him, sharply as if being interrupted. The trooper takes a step back, slightly unsettled by this inhuman looking droid. “We are to return to the Crescendo for a new briefing. Bravura has established a base near the settlement, north-west of our position.” The droid turns back towards the steam, and DT-R65 cannot be seen because of it.

“[We will finish our mission here.]” replies the IG unit. DT-R65 turns on his thermal scan, but it’s no use, everything is affected by the temperature of the steam. He turns his head to take a look behind him.

He catches a glimpse of old mining equipment. 8 lights are pointed towards him, but they are moving towards him. He turns off the thermal view…

Awesome! Glad we're continuing to tell this wonderful story together. That's a great infantry support platform too, makes sense for TT to repurpose old tech. Keep it up man!

Beautiful build, the levels are great, the spider creature is amazing and the landscaping works really well!

Thanks a lot!

This is a really clever way to create the feeling of a huge cave! That spider thing is terrifying...

One improvement suggestion would be to add some rock-work to the metal frames. That way it would look more like the metal bars was build into the rock...

Great build!

Your pictures always look so good. They really sell your builds.
Feedback: I hope this doesn't come off too harsh, but the essential structure of the build is, naturally, three flat planes stacked on top of each other, with big part rails in between to make it all x32 high. There is a part of me that just sees those three flat planes stacked together when I see the build, and it feels like some height variation inside of the plates would've added some dynamics. Maybe if the back of the build was rockwork and cave wall rather than just the rails, that might be cool too.
That said, structure aside, the three planes are executed with zero flaws. As you demonstrate every time, you've really nailed your tiling/freeform/surface building, and the rocks and props look smooth. I also really like that speeder, I think it's well adapted for the context.
The rock, spider, and speeder are my favorite parts of this. I personally think you should shoot for some non-flat surfaces and leave the big rail parts out next time.
Cheers, it's a great build overall.

Great build! I do agree with the others about adding some rockwork in addition to the metal framing, but this is still a stellar build. Excellent bug design as well!

Not harsh at all! I appreciate the great feedback, and take it to heart. I'm glad you like it!

There are two great builds here. I think they would have tied together much better with some thicker sections of the upper crust (?), maybe with the spider crawling around the underside. Great use of color and nice speeder.

I see you're getting some good use out of those technic beams. The sandy area being held up by the beams is very impressive. A lot of good engineering there. And I love the inclusion of the Mando swear in your dialogue. All the critiques have already been mentioned.

Great two-level build! The speeder, the spider and the sand are specially well executed. I like a lot the effect of that rock coming out of the water with the transparent pieces. Speaking about rocks, I agree with the other comments that a/some rock pillars coming from the bottom to the top would have increased the sense of the cave. Then the technic structure would be seen as supporting the cave and not only supporting the floating upper level.

Superb job again! Keep the story rolling pls... A scene minutes earlier with a dangling spider showing and filling the gap between the structure will create a terrifying depiction. The spider being in sand blue would be displayed prominently. The web seems to be too small in my opinion. A combination of a few nets and hanging strings can replace it beautifully... Well, thats just me being a fan of Star Wars and its Siths.
