No we don't. We're too hyped for Sariel's review!

Indeed. I'm looking forward to both Sariel's and Racingbrick's video reviews.

Besides those two, and since I see sets more as "technique tutorials" and "raw material for MOCs", I also look forward to New Elementary's reviews.

New Elementary is definitely one of the very best Lego sites out there, and their articles on new parts are always very interesting, even when it concerns parts I have otherwise little interest in. When it comes to Technic though, other reviewers tend to do better job in looking at the set itself, as understanding a Technic set requires someone specialized in those.

I hadn't heard of new elementary before. I don't want to steer us off topic but just look at all the new parts the other themes get! Anyway swiftly back on topic, I am looking forward to the reviews even if I'm not really looking forward to the set, is that weird? Although I am looking forward to getting the larger track pieces and the 5x7 frames in yellow

No idea how much time you need, but i hope sunday :purrr:

I hate to burst your bubble but this Sunday is definitely a no go. I'm aiming for next Sunday and that will probably be a challenge
(the app won't be available til the 15th btw)

And apparently we can change the title back to D11T

Apparently D11T. That's what a little birdie told me.

If I'm not mistaken, D11 is a model's family name where D11T (like D11N, D11R, etc) is an exact model-generation name, which may have some significant differences to other D11x bulldozers. So if releases after the new real vehicle presentation it should be 99%-probable called the same, D11T, to highlight a new generation.

You are absolutely right.

However, the official box pictures showed D11 without the T. But this has been changed on the final box.

The website and box image on the website still show D11

I have some experience with this so here’s some information. What you have said above is correct about D11 being a family name. All CAT Dozers are in the D Series, D11 being the highest in the lineup.

The different names come from different generations for example when the D11 was first introduced is was named D11N, the new model was D11R and after that D11T. Up and till recently D11T has been the most current version but CAT has now chosen to simplify the naming nomenclature throughout the lineup. Which brings us to the new model the Next-Gen D11 named simply ‘D11’ which the set is based on.

Finally there has been some comments about the D11XE that will be launched soon. This is not a new version but rather an option, that being an electric drive version. Similar to how the Liebherr R9800 has a face shovel and backhoe variant.

Check out this link on the new naming:

https://www.foleyinc.com/new-caterpillar-dozer-nomenclature/

Also note though a D11 is a D11 each one has a spec chosen by the customer which means variations for example part colours, railings, the ladder, blade, ripper, etc…

Anyway that’s my knowledge, hope it helps explain some questions.

Thanks for the info. It's very useful. I might use this in my review

Obviously, I can't share any details yet, but I can share that I am enjoying the build a lot :pir-wub:

Halfway through the build now. Hopefully I will be able to publish my review next weekend, but I can't make any promises. I will be an elaborate review, even without the app.
