Love the despair of it

Thank you I based this moc in some paints that caught my eye for that theme, I can only imagine the circumstances and those persons must have suffered deeply.

I feel honored to have made you imagine that song, it must mean the moc transmits some of what I intended it to.

I am planning on building more from this theme and era, so there might be other pics in the future.

It is a horse leg, actually on the retreat it is calculated due to heavy snow and therefore the loss of vegetation, the majority of horses died of starvation at a rate of 1000 daily, the army turn to eat them.

Marshal Ney Last Words
Soldiers, when I give the command to fire, fire straight at my heart. Wait for the order. It will be my last to you. I protest against my condemnation. I have fought a hundred battles for France, and not one against her… Soldiers Fire!

Marshal Ney abandoned By letting himself be caught, he has done us more harm than he did [defecting to Napoleon] on the 13th of March!

The near-unanimous conviction and death sentence were agreed by the Peers around midnight as December 6 became December 7, and the Bravest of the Brave led out near the Luxembourg Garden that very morning to suffer the sentence passed upon him.

Super cool build, @Niku! I love the texture on the wall behind the Marshal... looks like this wasn't the first firing squad to visit the space :pir-blush:

Moscow on Fire - A not-so-warm welcome
by Arfelan Nest, en Flickr

Moscow was very different to other European cities that crumbled before the military genius of Napoleon. Here, no crowds of locals came to gawp at the marching columns of the Grande Armée, and no local officials rushed to present him with the keys to the city.

Instead, the French emperor was met by an empty, deserted, hostile city, which, to compound his misery, was soon totally engulfed in flames. Observing the glow of the Moscow fires, the dumbfounded Napoleon is said to have remarked: “What a terrible sight! They’re burning the city themselves… What resoluteness! What people!

Lannes death - Essling, 1809

Jean Lannes, 1st Duke of Montebello, Prince of Siewierz (10 April 1769 – 31 May 1809), was a French military commander and a Marshal of the Empire
who served during both the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars.

He was one of Napoleon's most daring and talented generals, and is regarded by many as one of history's greatest military commanders.
Napoleon once commented on Lannes: "I found him a pygmy and left him a giant".

A personal friend of the emperor, he was allowed to address him with the familiar tu, as opposed to the formal vous.

On the eve of the day in 1809, Marshal Lannes took part in the famous Battle of Aspern-Essling.
A cannonball struck Jean just when his legs were crossed. It smashed his knee, and injured his other leg.
He had an operation, and both of his legs were amputated.
Napoleon came up, and allegedly wept as he embraced Jean.
Nine days after the battle, Lannes succumbed to his wounds.

At last, we have a continuation. That mid-size leg used for the amputated leg really fits well. Surely Bonaparte can't give up even when his friend dies like that. :bonaparte:
