evancelt Posted October 15, 2020 (edited) Without a harbor in Elizabethville, the ship carrying Captain Brickleton and his mixed company of 26th Foot and 18th Hussars couldn't get that close in. Anchored offshore, smaller boats ferried the men, horses, and supplies to the dock and beach in front of Fort di Legno. Arriving on the first boat, Captain Brickleton was greeted by Second Lieutenant Bolton of the Elizabethville Colonial Militia at the stockade fort. After introductions, together they went to retrieve the manager of the nearby stables. Returning with a few stablehands, they helped guide the frightened horses from the shallows inland. Following the chaotic yet successful disembarkment, Bolton gave Captain Brickleton a tour of the stockade. As the new ranking officer in Elizabethville, Captain Brickleton was keen to start off on the right foot. He left Bolton, who was clearly very proud of the smallish wooden fort, in command of the stockade and began to move his men inland to set up camp. A troop raising build for Elizabethville. Mesabi Posted October 16, 2020 Looking great @evancelt! Great job adhering to the established Lore of Elizabethville, and the scene looks great. I like the terrain scatter, and the water effect you did, it looks quite good. My only comment is, I'd like to see more pictures of the scene, the one picture kinda limits the scene. In order to get this one out the door pretty quickly, I ended up staging it on a beach in front of a massive white/yellow fort I'm building So I built a little brown palisade wall at the top of the beach to represent Fort di Legno and had to crop most of the non-Elizabethville giveaway stuff out of the shot. Will make future builds with multiple angles, etc Edited October 16, 2020 by evancelt

Ayrlego Posted October 18, 2020 Great immersive shot evancelt! As Mesabi said, the nod to previous Elizabethville builds and characters was a thoughtful addition that really helps build the BoBS world! Very nice troop raising build and I am looking forward to seeing the finished building you've used as background in this shot (I love the incorporation of classic yellow - something I've never felt I've been able to successfully achieve!). Bregir Posted October 27, 2020 Very nice and busy build! As others have stated, the way you have incorporated existing lore is excellent and shows your investment here in BoBS. I like the effect with the water in various colours, although it does look rather flat, compared to the surf at the beach. Have you considered this as an entry to task 1 of the Glory of Corrington build initiative? If so, you have my upfront!

RE: water flatness, there are some cool-looking waves a little farther out to sea in this build, but the shots that included the waves unfortunately included too much of my other background buildings that were "out of scope"
SilentWolf Posted December 29, 2020 Nice to see Elizabethville getting some love and nice job incorporating previous storylines.
