“Why not take a knife from the dining room? A teapot simply doesn’t make sense.“

I guess a teapot would look draw less suspicion than a knife. If they were caught they could simply say they were bringing tea to Alfie.

Then, why would they kill Ezra? Are the cabins adjacent to each other? Perhaps Ezra simply overheard the struggle. Assuming Ezra is dead...

"That should be our next stop. Let's go to Ezra's cabin and I'll secure lock this cabin to preserve evidence."

Also, why didn't they take anything after Alfie was dead?"

"We don't know if they did, which is why I want everyone and every cabin searched, but even that is tricky, since we don't know what we're looking for."

You’ll be given a map/layout of the ship as well as some choices that you can explore.

This would be nice.

"Way to toe the company line, Arthur. Our guests have money, surely. But I suspect most of them obtained it by ill-gotten means. That's how I view most well-off people anyway. We're surrounded by lawyers, politicians, businessmen...artists. They're all awful... no offense, sickos. Just my opinion."

"We won't have an answer to that until the Doctor replies."

Charlotte wonders to herself if she knew any of the names listed as financial backers. Charlotte is also still wondering about the timings of how long it would take to get from the bar to Alfie's room, and to engineering.

"@Hinckley Gabby, have you managed to ascertain yet how long the power was out for?"

"I'm happy for us to forge ahead to Ezra's room. You know it occurs to me that the person who might lose and or gain the most from the device Alfie was building would be our talented Chef. Who would need to pay for the services of a world renowned Chef if you could just replicate all their dishes 24/7? Equally, I imagine one's job as a Chef would be made immeasurably easier if one had exclusive access to such a device. No more quality control problems, all dishes hot, on time and perfect with minimal effort. Do you have any thoughts on this @Kristel Chef Baker?"

Thinks to himself that food from a replicator would be like eggs done in a microwave, and wonders why Charlotte seems to think that this particular one would be delivering perfect meals every time.  Does she know more about this patent than she is letting on?  Turns to Charlotte and says, "You're welcome to take your chances on a food replicator.  I'm sticking to the real thing."

Noah asks aloud to no-one in particular, "Before we check on Ezra, did we turn Alfie's body over to see if he was laying on anything?".

Parks some other thoughts, such as whether we have video footage of the corridor outside Alfie's cabin to see if anyone was visiting him before the power was cut, and how long the system would keep such logs for before deleting them, for later.

Charlotte is aware of the same one as Emily, a famous venture capitalist. Here's the map!

There's nothing underneath Alfie's body except for some bloody bedding.

Ezra's room is right next door. His door is similarly locked and there's no answer at the door. How would you like to proceed?

Mod Note: If for some reason you'd ever like to return to Alfie's room, you may vote to do so

Second Mod Note: If I miss your action, please continue to ahem me and quote it.

Your keycard does work, since you use it to housekeep. The door is now unlocked.

Ahem... Yes, sorry, I was lost in my thoughts. I would like to have a look at Alfie's meds, I'm not a heart specialist but it's possible it's something I might have encountered before.

And if we've moved to Ezra's room already, then I'll make sure to make my way back to Alfie's after we're done.

@Waterbrick Down @Shadows "Captain Bennett, Arthur, why are you both suggesting this may have been accidental? Why would someone go through the trouble of shutting down the advanced and sophisticated FTL drive in order to shut down only the security systems, go grab a tea pot and go to Alfie's room? You think that was a friendly endeavor on the perpetrator's part? Odd that two people with access to the Engineering room are suggesting the death of Alfie wasn't murdered. Very interesting."

Yes, the shutdown was likely planned but finding Alfie in his cabin perhaps wasn't. The murderer obviously prepared to break into Alfie's cabin, but not to kill him. It's likely he was after something inside the cabin, but it's not clear if they found it or not. We should search every cabin on this ship, but perhaps a full body search might also be required.

Yeah, why assume that Ezra is dead just because we didn't hear from her? :look:
