To arms, loyal Terraversans!

Recommended Posts

Terraversa, 17 August 620

To arms, citizens of Terraversa! It is time for our young nation to overthrow the tyrants who kept us in the darkness and in the misery. Using the glorious banner of freedom and independence, the two tyrants, Oldis and L'Olius, put the whole island under their boots!

Don't you believe me? Look at the ports of your city, completely empty due to their senseless choices! Look at your goods rotting in the warehouses! Look at the streets, at the palaces, at the public buildings, never repaired nor renovated!

Oldis and L'Olius, far from being our saviors, brought us into a fratricidal war against our old motherland. Did we earn something from that? We killed our brothers, and we saw our brothers being killed, only to fatten those two men and their friends, only to give them power! They promised us peace and brought us into war, again and again: they ordered us to kill the Mardierians so that they could take complete control of the island; each of them ready to send us against his rival, neighbor against neighbors, just because half of our land was not enough for each of those greedy men; now they are asking us to fight once again against our brothers, the Terraversans who refuse their evil rule... they are asking you to fight for them against the Oleander army, come to give an end to their crimes and their abuses. They are asking you to die so that they can keep their unruly thrones, built with blood and tears on the shoulder of Terraversan citizens.

They promised us safety and our sailors are slaughtered by pirates. They promised us prosperity and then destroyed our commerce imposing unbearable port taxes, with terrible damage for us and for the economy of the whole World... and did we receive a single doubloon from that? Obviously not, since Oldis and L'Olius put them all in their coffers!
Those men promised us freedom: while they feasted in their palaces, they sent our sons to die in the mud, to starve at the frontline, to drown in the cruel sea. Did we receive freedom? Those men only parted the power and the wealth of Terraversa, and each of them took half of it! We had had a tyrant, there in Londa? The war gave us two of them, one in King's Port and the other in Westface!
Now I ask you, brothers and compatriots, should we make once again a shield with our bodies to protect those assassins? Or would you join us, the loyal sons of Terraversa, in the war against the tyrants? Our Oleander brothers have landed all over the island, and are ready to drag the only real enemies of our country out of their holes... there is no coming back!

Tomorrow we will all be fellows on the deathbed, or brothers in a new, bright Terraversa! Take your gun, your pitchfork, or even some stones, and throw out the tyrants! Take the weapons one last time, against the men who caused all our sufferings, or you'll be asked to take them again and again... until the tyrants will destroy, spoil or sell everything on our wonderful island!

A loyal Terraversan citizen

Credit to @Bodi for the build; I already used it for the previous pamphlet from the Loyal Terraversan Citizen. Like the previous one, it is just a little piece of the propaganda war running side by side with the "real" war. Consider it a sort of call to arms for our "fifth column" and a reply to KPA call to arms.

@Keymonus

Looks really promising, but I can't see it very well. The image appears to be stretched.

Thanks! However, the build was a quick creation of @Bodi for one of our previous pamphlets (that you can find here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/178436-a-pamphlet-from-nola-mar/). Consider the pamphlets of the Loyal Terraversan Citizen as a sort of anti-King's Port Advertiser printed by a filo-Oleander loyal and patriotic Terraversan, likely in Nola Mar. Basically, with the first battles of the Second Terraversan War (ugly name, absolutely unofficial) already fought, but with no clue about the outcome (OOC: the calculations to be done were massive, so the MRCA report is taking some time after the actual beginning of the operations) we are keeping things heated with something from the very first day of the invasion liberation of Terraversa or the days before (such as the KPA special issue, the trenches I depicted and, now, this call to arms). :pir_laugh2:

We are not warmongers! We're conflict resolvers!

From my point of view, there is a simple solution to the Terraversa problem. Join the Sea Rats. Its solves many of the issues all at once. Tyrannical Rulers and Monarchists? We have none. Corrupt governments and ridiculous taxes? Nope! Meddling Imperialist nations trying to subvert their will on you by back channel methods? Not a chance! And lastly....pirates. You'll go from fearing their raids, to becoming a much desired port of call to spend their honorably hard earned dubloons! its a win-win-win-win situation :pir-grin:

Maybe we should too open up a Terraversan newspaper and organize a referendum! Take back control Terraversa!

A referendum? Why should we bother the Terraversans with such a boring matter? The legitimate ruler will be decided on the battlefield, as good, old traditions teach us

I've said it the previous time you used this build for a post: a nice little scene. It look very realistic and lively. That printing press is awesome and the attention to details such as the fonts drawer is great!
