Here's another prediction of mine. I think it would be cool if one of the Dodges was one of these:

It would be interesting to see how one of these would translate into Lego.

I'd love that, especially since we got a NASCAR inspired Camaro.  I don't know if they could make a body that is both stable enough to hold together and also be raised/lowered at the Speed Champions scale (it would for sure work at a Creator Expert/Technic scale, though), but it would be a pretty cool set to get one of those.

What would be REALLY cool, but probably not going to happen, is a two pack with a funny car and top-fuel dragster, but I don't think there's enough appeal there to make a set out of.

We still have one more unlicensed set according to Promobricks. Any speculations? I was hoping for Japanese brand though.

Do you think LEGO will make a new windscreen specifically for Koenigsegg? Because I thought about it and came to the conclusion that the ones that are now do not perfectly reflect its shape.

Yeah there’s 6 overall (excluding the polybag) my guess is that it’s the biggest set priced roughly at $80-100. That’s just pure speculation on my end though.

Maybe it will actually cost about $100, but as I looked at some sites, I noticed that the kits have successively cost:

$19,99

$19,99

$19,99

$29,99

$49,99

So maybe this "mysterious" set will be around $59,99.

It's great news that the line is continuing and even better that it seems a decent lineup.

Some speculation on what the dodge models could be seeing as it's got to appeal world wide I can only think of 4 models that are that well known and that's the Challenger, Charger, Ram, Viper and all their variations, years etc

My stab in the dark regarding the set is a Dodge Ram towing a trailer with a 1970s Challenger or Viper.

These models are amazing love the 240z do you have the instructions available at all?

Thanks @LegoMFP_David:thumbup:

Unfortunately no, with regards to the 240z.  I have quite a big backlog of instructions to do and put up on my Rebrickable.  I'll PM you when i get around to it though.

And i'm with you with regards to the Dodge Ram, towing a Viper or 70's challenger.   I agree, i don't think many other Dodge models have a well known appeal, although i think a Dart would be cool too maybe.

Ditto, I think classic cars in general tend to translate to Speed Champions a bit better. That F1 Espace is beautiful BTW.

I agree that the Dodge will probably include a truck and a-another muscle car - I can't imagine they'd do a Dart, much as I would love them to.

Thanks @TeddytheSpoon:thumbup:

Couldn't agree more about the classic cars translating better. I think they're generally less reliant on stickers for headlights etc too. And yes to a Dart, that would be pretty awesome! Especially if they made it look drag spec with larger rear tyres. Though as much as i'd love to see one, it's still one of those cars that's fairly obscure outside of the US. So i think it's unlikely we'll see one.

I'm not sure it has any bearing on what sets we get, but so far we've got two European, two American and one Japanese. I would guess the last one would be another European brand based on where brands tend to be concentrated. It does seem like there might only be one that's based on a motorsport vehicle (presumably the Toyota) rather than just a supercar/muscle car as the rest are, so my guess would be for one of those. Personally I'd love to see a touring car; we got the Nismo last year which I think is a Super GT vehicle, so maybe a DTM Audi? It'd be mega if it was one of the vintage BTCC cars - my vote would be for the Williams Renault Laguna or the Volvo 850 Estate.

EDIT: saying that, I have just thought of Indycar being a possibility for the Chevrolet set, and the more I think about it the more I like it. Could be a two-pack with either one speedway and one road-course spec car, or a pace car (although that might be a Corvette IIRC) with one Indycar and the parts to swap between the two setups.

Obscurity for US vehicles outside the States is probably why we get so many muscle cars in fairness, since they're really the only ones recognisable to the rest of the world. It's a shame for petrolheads - along similar lines it would be cool to see a Holden in the line-up, but outside Australia and petrolheads it might have limited appeal.

Hi everyone. I am a huge fan of speed champions and am super excited to see the new sets for 2021.

I was recently browsing the internet for Speed Champion mocs and as such I came across a bunch of knockoff versions which were mostly copies of official LEGO sets, but some that caught my eye were completely original. I found them on this site: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001436858442.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.3c3f2d61Co286n&algo_pvid=37c3a828-676e-4c33-9b4d-4b0da7e5110b&algo_expid=37c3a828-676e-4c33-9b4d-4b0da7e5110b-9&btsid=0bb0623316121235999491126e9ac4&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_,searchweb201603_

Unfortunately I can’t upload images of the three cars I’m interested in because their file size it too large, (even individually doesn’t work). But if you look through the different cars you may be able to notice a Koenigsegg Jesko, Corvette C8r and Dodge Viper. The Jesko was rumoured to be a single car set so seeing this made me think that LEGO got the idea from it. Additionally the C8r may appear in the rumoured 2 pack Corvette set and the Viper could be in the Dodge 2 pack set.

What does everything think of these? To be honest they don’t look too bad as I think they are pretty recognisable. I will be interested to see what LEGO comes up with and if the designs are similar to these.

A shame there are no Ferrari scheduled for 2021 so far. :sceptic:

I guess Lego has already published most of the models in 6 Studs!

I would not mind if they revisited some of the 6-studs models and gave them a good 8-studs make-over - something like this LaFerrari, for instance...

That LaFerrari looks 100x better than the 6 stud one!

Edit: found a way to upload the images of some “knockoff” speed champions which appear to be a Jesko, C8r and viper, cars we may see in the official 2021 Speed Champion lineup. Will be interested to see if the LEGO ones look similar to these.

Yeah, I've seen those as well. I think they look great, but they leave also a little bad taste in my mouth cause they're from knock off brands. I wish TLG would bring so much variety with the SC sets like the these manufacturers do!

I think Lego's designs of the Jesko and C8R (if they're in this year's line-up) will be different from these. The winglets on the Jesko's rear spoiler look a little flimsy and the Vette's headlights look too big. Maybe when the real sets get revealed, we can compare them. I have my doubts that the Viper will be in Lego's line-up though as the car itself has been discontinued for a while now. I think Dodge would want to include something a little more current. They could surprise us though.

Can't even seem to register a new account through Aliexpress.  Anyone know if Aliexpress is a reputable website to make purchases from.  The website link to register doesn't even look secure.

I bought on aliexpress only 2 times. Once I bought myself an LMP2 and it came to me very quickly and efficiently. The second time I bought a Corvette C8. R (the one that is in the picture in the post above) I unfortunately did not come because it was lost by chinese mail. The seller immediately wrote it to me and told me to open the dispute. And I got a total refund.

But it is also necessary to pay attention to the fact that not everyone is honest

And as for registration, you can do it (so it is at least with me) that you can register with fb or google account.

As for chinese bricks it is very good. But you also have to take into account the fact that you may find a batch of product from another factory.

And as you know in China, they also produce fake fakes.

I was just lucky and i got a good quality product.

Over a year ago I bought a Aliexpress 6 stud version of the Nismo GTR, as I always wanted a 6 stud version of it but wasn't creative enough to make a good model of my own.

I was very surprised on 2 things, first was how quickly the set arrived think it was around 10 days (I've had slower Bricklink orders from the UK) and second on how good the quality of the pieces were. Ok they are not up to Lego standards however I would say they are 80% of the way there and at least on a par with MB if not better.

However like other members have said it can be a bit hit and miss, one good thing is that once you have the instructions use them to build the vehicle out of genuine Lego pieces.

Great news! The downside is the fact that they'll be 8 wide. Well, I'm gonna modify them to 6 wide. I'm thrilled by the fact that this theme isn't dead yet.

Can better extend 6pin models to 8pin? 6pin SC cars are disproportionately narrow :) I somehow counted on a scale - the wight should be between 7 and 8pin.

The released SC sets in 7pin look better in my opinion

I really hope they do the new Toyota hypercar, that would be a definite must have for me!  The Koenigsegg wiould be pretty cool too.

Personally though, i'd love to see them do more classic rally cars.

Would love a rally Datsun 240z to go with this street version i created.

I also think a rally Z, would fit in well with my Ford Escort MK1 and Lancia Fulvia, (similar era).

I could really do with a Renault 5 Maxi turbo as well, to go with the Renault F1 Espace, i created earlier this year.

Wonderful models. Especially Renault and grey Datsun.

seeing that we are all speed champions fans on here a question

How do you help preserve the stickers on your models? some of mine from the first speed champions line are starting to degrade. I keep them out of direct sunlight and even in a north face room so it doesn't get to warm.

Any tips or advice would be great

Hello.   Thanks for reaching out to me.  I haven’t had any issues with the stickers degrading.  I keep my models out of direct sunlight as well.  Not sure what else the issue may be.  Do you handle or play with them a lot?

nope not at all, just have them on display.

The only other thing I can think of is the polish I use when I am dusting/cleaning them. How does everyone else keep their models clean and dust free?

I just dip them in a bucket of water, light scrub with a clean bristle brush and then rinse off to get the dust off.  I think your polish cleaner is the culprit.

Latest info courtesy of Promobricks:

76900 Koenigsegg Jesko - 280pcs, EUR19.99

76901 Toyota GR Supra - 299pcs, EUR19.99

76902 McLaren Elva - 263pcs, EUR19.99

76903 Chevrolet Corvette C8-R & '68 Corvette C3 - 512pcs, EUR39.99

76904 Mopar Dodge/SRT top fuel dragster & '70 Dodge Challenger - 627pcs, EUR59.99

76905: Unknown set & pc number, EUR49.99

A reasonably interesting mix - @RacerRabbit and particularly @Kit Figsto pretty much nailed the top-fuel dragster prediction! The Chevrolet set sounds particularly interesting, the C3 is a beautiful car so hopefully it looks good.

I'm hoping the Supra comes with a Gazoo Racing livery as well. EDIT: apparently it'll be yellow. Ah well, still an interesting colour I suppose. The Dodge Challenger will supposedly be purple - is this the first purple SC car?

As for that surprise last set, I would hope for something off-road related given everything else is tarmac-based. Extreme E or Dakar would be cool.
