legonerd54321 Posted August 21, 2020 Hello all. These are my attempt at some basic searchlight signals. They are relatively low in parts, with the single searchlight tower being 35 parts in total. The signal head is a 3x3 inverted dish with a 1x1 claw with a vertical tooth. These aren't based on an particular model of searchlights, but I figured I'd give them a shot, seeing as they really aren't a signal I see modeled. A front view of the signals and signalbox An angled view, showing off the ladder behind the signals. An example of how it could look next to the track. JWBDolphins Posted August 21, 2020 Those look Great! I think any track-side items really help elevate a layout to a model railway look, Nice job!

JaBaCaDaBra Posted August 21, 2020 Really a great design, including the switchbox etc. btw shouldn't it be called a semaphore? searchlight is something with aitplanes and air defence etc. cmiiw
SteamSewnEmpire Posted August 21, 2020 I so wish there was a part that could capture the hood over the light.
supertruper1988 Posted August 21, 2020 @legoman666 made some out of cloth available here: https://www.bricktraindepot.com/product/cloth-signal-cover-12-pack/
ColletArrow Posted August 21, 2020 Very nice work! Any trackside details are always a bonus, and I do like the tooth part for the signal hood even if it's not that noticeable from some angles. The equipment cabinet is another often-overlooked yet important feature of real-life railways. 1 hour ago, JaBaCaDaBra said: shouldn't it be called a semaphore? searchlight is something with aitplanes and air defence etc. cmiiw Semaphores are signals with mechanical moving arms. In British I'd call this type a Colour-Light signal, but I think searchlight works too.

Or the horizontal tooth that I used. It was hard to see in the renders.
